Efficiency of recurrent neural networks for seasonal trended time series modelling

    Get PDF
Seasonal time series with trends are the most common data sets used in forecasting. This work focuses on the automatic processing of a non-pre-processed time series by studying the efficiency of recurrent neural networks (RNN), in particular both long short-term memory (LSTM), and bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi-LSTM) extensions, for modelling seasonal time series with trend. For this purpose, we are interested in the learning stability of the established systems using the mean average percentage error (MAPE) as a measure. Both simulated and real data were examined, and we have found a positive correlation between the signal period and the system input vector length for stable and relatively efficient learning. We also examined the white noise impact on the learning performance

MDD @ AMI: Vanilla Classifiers for Misogyny Identification

    Get PDF
In this report, we present a set of vanilla classifiers that we used to identify misogynous and aggressive texts in Italian social media. Our analysis shows that simple classifiers with little feature engineering have a strong tendency to overfit and yield a strong bias on the test set. Additionally, we investigate the usefulness of function words, pronouns, and shallow-syntactical features to observe whether misogynous or aggressive texts have specific stylistic elements

Matching data detection for the integration system

    Get PDF
The purpose of data integration is to integrate the multiple sources of heterogeneous data available on the internet, such as text, image, and video. After this stage, the data becomes large. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the data that can be used for the efficient execution of the query. However, we have problems with solving entities, so it is necessary to use different techniques to analyze and verify the data quality in order to obtain good data management. Then, when we have a single database, we call this mechanism deduplication. To solve the problems above, we propose in this article a method to calculate the similarity between the potential duplicate data. This solution is based on graphics technology to narrow the search field for similar features. Then, a composite mechanism is used to locate the most similar records in our database to improve the quality of the data to make good decisions from heterogeneous sources

Torsional Vibrations of Fluid-Filled Multilayered Transversely Isotropic Finite Circular Cylinder

    Get PDF
An analytical and numerical study for the torsional vibrations of viscous fluid-filled three-layer transversely isotropic cylinder is presented in this paper. The equations of motion of solid and fluid are respectively formulated using the constitutive equations of a transversely isotropic cylinder and the constitutive equations of a viscous fluid. The analytical solution of the frequency equation is obtained using the boundary conditions at the free surface of the solid layer and the boundary conditions at the fluid–solid interface. The frequency equation is deduced and analytically solved using the symbolic Software Mathematica. The finite element method using Comsol Multiphysics Software results are compared with present method for validation and an acceptable match between them were obtained. It is shown that the results from the proposed method are in good agreement with numerical solutions. The influence of fluid dynamic viscosity is thoroughly analyzed and the effect of the isotropic properties on the natural frequencies is also investigated
