As the basic component of urban open green areas, plants are extremely important not only with their aesthetic appearance but also with the ecosystem services they provide. In order for plants to provide the expected benefits from them, their characteristics must be known and the planting design must be planned and applied correctly. The plant taxa selected in the design of urban open and green areas should be evaluated as a whole with both their physiological and morphological characteristics. Therefore, in addition to the aesthetic properties of the plant material to be used in planting design studies to be made in cities, its aromatic properties, toxicity status and pollen spreading properties that may cause allergic reactions on humans should be examined and choices should be made accordingly. Within the scope of the study, 85 plant taxa were identified in the open and green areas of Haliliye district of Şanlıurfa province. These plants were evaluated in terms of life form, leaf condition, flowering period, aromatic properties, poisonous parts and allergen rates. As a result of this evaluation, it was determined that the use of natural plants was insufficient, deciduous and evergreen plant species were used in a balanced way, and there was an important richness in terms of aromatic plant diversity. In addition, it has been determined that there are a significant number of plant taxa containing poison, as well as the use of many allergenic plants in open green areas. As a result, various suggestions were developed regarding the use of plant species in planting design applications, and observation notes made in open green areas were shared

This study was carried out to determine the effects of some plant nutrients applied to seedbed compost on seedling quality in 2019 in the seedbed of Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops, in Turkey. in the trial Izmir-Ozbas tobacco variety was used and experimental design was randomized complete parcel design with three replications. in the study, lenght of the seedling (cm), number of the leaf (per/plant), stem diameter (mm), healthy seedlings per square (pcs/m2 ), lenght of the root (cm), fresh stem and root weight (g/plant), dry stem and root weight (g/plant) were evaluated. According to the results, the longest lenght of seedling and stem diameter was found in K2 doses (potassium doses: 400 g/parcel) as 20.5 cm and 4.1 mm, respectively. Besides, number of the leaf, healthy seedling per square and lenght of the root were 7.8-8.4 per/plant, 2.1-3.3 pcs/m2m^2 , 2.6-2.8 cm, respectively. Considering the results, as the amount of potassium applied increased, the amount of length of the seedling, stem diameter and length of the root increased as well.

WOS: 000558006500001Growing number of household refrigerators and freezers also increase the overall energy consumption and number of household refrigerators have grown nearly 3% per year. on the other hand, investigations showed that household refrigerators have a significant technical energy saving potential of up to 30-40%. in this study, a single-phase natural circulation loop is considered as a suction line heat exchanger between the high and low pressure sides of conventional refrigeration cycle of a household chest freezer. the potential heat transfer by the single-phase natural circulation loop is studied by a CFD analysis, considering the possible temperature range for refrigeration cycle and geometrical parameters that affect the loop performance. the performance map of this refrigeration cycle is presented for different compressor suction and discharge pressures (LP/HP), discharge temperatures (T-2) and different compressor speeds. the results indicate that the highest amount of heat transfer is obtained for the single-phase natural circulation loop with aspect ratio of 0.8 and pipe diameter of 6.53 mm. Moreover, the single-phase natural circulation loop provides 11.5% efficiency improvement for the household freezer for maximum compressor speed at lowest T(2)and LP/HP. Considering reduction in required compressor work, SPNCmL assisted refrigeration system has a wider operating range.Scientific and Technological Research Council of TurkeyTurkiye Bilimsel ve Teknolojik Arastirma Kurumu (TUBITAK) [5180042]This research was supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey under grant number: 5180042
