This study aims to determine the rates of injuries, the types of injuries and what part of the body is mostly injured in professional taekwondo sportsmen during competitions. This study involves 287 sportsmen participated in the interuniversity Taekwando championship in Ordu. Injuries during a match of the championship was determined by a team. The characteristics and types of injuries, the sportsmen’s verbal expressions were registered by a pre-determined team, and it was mentioned about how these injuries occurred, in which part of the body the injuries were seen. Among 287 sportsmen in this study, 178 sportsmen were male, 109 ones were female. 46 universities took part in this championship. The championship lasted three days and total 271 competitions were done. 539 injuries were determined in total. The mostly seen type of injury was hematoma (43%), the mostly injured part was in lower extremities 416 (77%), most of the injuries were ones seen in defense (36%). No injuries were not observed in neck, shoulder, spine or trunk and cerebral injuries were not also observed. As a result of the study, it was explained that most of the injuries seen in the taekwondo competitions did not require the medical intervention and the lower extremities were mostly injured in these competitions. In the light of these findings, it could be said that these parts be protected during the competitions and the defense techniques be different

Dolayısıyla performans antrenmanlarının akciğer fonksiyonlarını arttırabileceği söylenebilirIn this research it was aimed to examine the effect of 4 weeks camp term of female taekwondoers, who were struggling in female taekwondo national team of Turkey before the European Championships, on some respiration parameters. 13 female taekwondoers, who were preparing for European Championship making taekwando in top level, whose some of one , age average was 22,26±3,29 year, height averages 171.07±6,62 cm, attended as subjects to the research. Some respiration parameters (FVC, PEF, PIF, VC, MVV) of subjects were measured before and after 4 weeks camp, in the mornings, in the sitting position as they were hungry, by using cosmed brand spirometer. Medians of measured parameters of subjects also were assessed and in the determination of the difference between two measurement timings, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test was used. Meaningful (p<0.05) increase in the values PEF, PIF and MVV were found after 4 weeks camp. However there was no difference in PIF and VC values and body weight averages. In conclusion, four-week technical and tactical exercise program has brought about meaningful increases in taekwandoers' performance exercises and lung funcions. In fact,it can be said that maximal respiration capacity increases together with increasing muscular power which supports respiration organs by exercises and connected to it, it creates current speed changes.Consequently, it can be said that performance exercises increases lung functions

Background and objective: The knowledge on the effects of para-badminton sport on physiological parameters is relatively limited in the literature. This study aims to examine the effects of moderate intensity badminton training on the hematological parameters of elite para-badminton athletes. Methods: A total of 12 para-badminton athletes, 6 female and 6 male, with international competitive experience in the Turkish Para-Badminton National Team, participated in the study. A 90-minute badminton training was applied to the athletes for their technical and tactical development. A 4 mL blood sample was taken before and after the training. Hematological parameters were analyzed from these blood samples. White blood cells, red blood cells, platelets count, and their particular subgroups such as hemoglobin, hematocrit, granulocytes, and lymphocytes were examined as the hematological parameters in this study. Results: The findings revealed that the female para-badminton athletes exhibited a significant increase in white blood cells, granulocytes percentage, red blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelets values after training compared to pre-training. It was determined that there were significant increases in white blood cells, granulocytes, granulocytes percentage, red blood cells, and hematocrit values for male para-badminton athletes after training compared to pre-training, and significant decreases in lymphocytes percentage values. Conclusion: In conclusion, the present study showed that a single 90-minute moderate-intensity badminton training session leads to physiological changes on the blood parameters of elite parabadminton athletes. These changes, which differ by gender, can affect the health and performance of the athlete
