The new Magnetic Measurement System at the Advanced Photon Source
A new system for precise measurements of the field integrals and multipole
components of the APS magnetic insertion devices is described. A stretched coil
is used to measure magnetic field characteristics. The hardware includes a
number of servomotors to move (translate or rotate) the coil and a fast data
acquisition board to measure the coil signal. A PC under Linux is used as a
control workstation. The user interface is written as a Tcl/tk script. The
hardware is accessed from the script through a shared C-library. A description
of the hardware system and the control program is given.Comment: 3 pages, 5 figures, paper 3271 submitted to ICALEPCS 2001 Conferenc
Testing CP and Time Reversal Symmetries with Decays
In this letter, an overview is given for interesting tests of both CP and
Time Reversal symmetries with the beauty baryon . Extensive use of
the helicity formalism and HQET is done for all calculations. Then, emphasis is
put on sophisticated methods like analysis of resonance polarizations and
particular angle distributions which can exhibit a clear signal of TR
violation.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, 3 tables. Talk given at the 13th International QCD

Large- and small-scale turbulent spectra in MHD and atmospheric flows
In the present review we discuss certain studies of large- and small-scale turbulent spectra in MHD and atmospheric flows performed by S. S. Moiseev and his co-authors during the last years of his life and continued by his co-authors after he passed away. It is shown that many ideas developed in these works have not lost their novelty and urgency until now, and can form the basis of future studies in this field
Relativistic description of the charmonium mass spectrum
The charmonium mass spectrum is considered in the framework of the
constituent quark model with the relativistic treatment of the c quark. The
obtained masses are in good agreement with the existing experimental data
including the mass of eta_c(2S).Comment: 5 page
The seasonal factor in the tourism industry and it's influence on the sustainable development of the sector
© Medwell Journals, 2017. The study is devoted to the problems of seasonality in tourism. The researchers note the dependence of the tourist season on the climatic indicators of the location and propose recommendations that can allow the tourist destination to develop steadily and dynamically during off-season as well
Forces between electric charges in motion: Rutherford scattering, circular Keplerian orbits, action-at-a-distance and Newton's third law in relativistic classical electrodynamics
Standard formulae of classical electromagnetism for the forces between
electric charges in motion derived from retarded potentials are compared with
those obtained from a recently developed relativistic classical electrodynamic
theory with an instantaneous inter-charge force. Problems discussed include
small angle Rutherford scattering, Jackson's recent `torque paradox' and
circular Keplerian orbits. Results consistent with special relativity are
obtained only with an instantaneous interaction. The impossiblity of stable
circular motion with retarded fields in either classical electromagnetism or
Newtonian gravitation is demonstrated.Comment: 26 pages, 5 figures. QED and special relativity forbid retarded
electromagnetic forces. See also physics/0501130. V2 has typos corrected,
