Loxa deducta Walker, 1867 (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) en Chile: distribución, historia de invasión e identificación

The presence of the introduced stink bug Loxa deducta Walker, 1867 in Chile is analyzed. New records are provided for the Valparaíso, O´Higgins and Maule regions, extending its distribution southwards and northwards. Identification tips are provided to differentiate it from other Chilean pentatomids, as well as Loxa Amyot & Serville, 1843 species in the neighbor countries.Se analiza la presencia del pentatómido Loxa deducta Walker, 1867 en Chile. Se proporcionan nuevos registros para las regiones de Valparaíso, O´Higgins y Maule; extendiendo su distribución tanto al norte como al sur. Revalidación de Ditomotarsus hyadesi Signoret, 1885 stat. rest. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Acanthosomatidae), con notas acerca de su historia natural

Ditomotarsus hyadesi Signoret, 1885 is revalidated. An historical analysis of the references belonging to this species is provided. Ditomotarsus gayi virens Jensen-Haarup, 1931 is proposed as new junior synonym of Ditomotarsus hyadesi. New data is provided on the biology of D. hyadesi. First observations on oviposition process are delivered and discussed. New data on sexual behavior is recorded and discussed. Ontogenic coloration changes for this species are for first time recorded, becoming the first in the Ditomotarsinae. The distribution and life history of the species are summarized.Ditomotarsus hyadesi Signoret, 1885 es revalidada y se provee un análisis histórico de las referencias bibliográficas correspondientes a esta especie. Se entrega nueva información acerca de la biología de D. hyadesi. Se entregan y discuten las primeras observaciones acerca de la oviposición en esta especie; además de nuevos datos acerca de su comportamiento sexual. Se registran también por primera vez para esta especie cambios de coloración ontogénicos, los que serían también los primeros registrados en la subfamilia Ditomotarsinae.  Finalmente se analiza y discute la distribución e historia natural de la especie

Primer registro de la familia Cydnidae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) en Isla de Pascua, Chile

A new record from insular Chile for the Neotropical and Andean cydnid Melanaethus spinolae (Signoret, 1864) is presented. Specifically, the new record comes from Easter Island, making M. spinolae the first burrower bug found in this Oceanic island. The possible causes of the range expansion of this taxon are commented.Se presenta un nuevo registro del cídnido andino y neotropical Melanaethus spinolae (Signoret, 1863) para Chile insular. El nuevo registro proviene específicamente de Isla de Pascua, convirtiendo a esta chinche en el primer cídnido para esta isla oceánica. Se comentan las posibles causas de la expansión de este taxón

Contribución al conocimiento de Tegenaria domestica (Clerck, 1757) (Araneae: Agelenidae) en la Patagonia Austral

Se revisa y analiza la presencia de la araña Tegenaria domestica en la Patagonia austral. Se entregan nuevos registros para las provincias de Santa Cruz y Tierra del Fuego en Argentina y se confirma su presencia en la región de Magallanes en Chile. Se discute la significancia de los registros históricos y los nuevos aquí entregados. First hostplant record for Chinavia chilensis Grazia, Schwertner & Ferrari (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae)

The first hostplant record on Prosopis tamarugo (Fabaceae) is given for the Chilean green stink bug Chinavia chilensis. Observations were made in San Pedro de Atacama, Antofagasta Region, Chile. It was recorded that the females oviposite on the three. Later, nymphs develop on the fruits. The significance of this finding is discussed and it is concluded that C. chilensis may be highly specialized to feed on this vegetal species

Primeros casos teratológicos en heterópteros peruanos (Hemiptera: Heteroptera)

Se describen cuatro casos teratológicos correspondientes a atrofias y oligomerias antenales en heterópteros peruanos: atrofia en antena izquierda de Piezogaster obscuratus (Montandon, 1899) (Coreidae) y Oncopeltus (Erythrischius) zonatus (Erichson, 1848) (Lygaeidae), atrofia en antena derecha con anartrogénesis de Oncopeltus (Erythrischius) cingulifer Stal, 1874 (Lygaeidae) y oligomeria simple en antena izquierda de Anasa guayaquila Brailovsky, 1985 (Coreidae). Estas teratosis representan los primeros casos reportados para hemípteros peruanos. Se comentan y discuten las posibles causas de estas teratosis

Redescription of three little known genera of Acanthosomatidae (Hemiptera: Pentatomoidea) from South America

Se analizan los ejemplares tipo de géneros monotípicos y poco conocidos de Acanthosomatidae, Cochabambia Pirán (Ditomotarsinae) y Tunaria Pirán (Blaudusinae: Blaudusini) de Bolivia. Se redescriben en base a caracteres conocidos y nuevos y se discute su posición taxonómica. Tunaria es considerado sinónimo menor de Blaudus Stål, resultando la nueva combinación Blaudus andicola (Pirán) comb. nov. Por otra parte se describe por primera vez al macho de Pseudosinopla canaliculus (Reed, 1898) (Blaudusinae: Blaudusini).The type specimens of two monotypic and little-known genera of Acanthosomatidae from Bolivia, Cochabambia Pirán (Ditomotarsinae) and Tunaria Pirán (Blaudusinae: Blaudusini) are examined. Both species are described using known and new characters, and their taxonomic position is discussed. Tunaria is considered a junior synonym of Blaudus Stål. Consequently, Blaudus andicola (Pirán) comb. nov. is proposed as a new combination. Conspectus of Aeptini Stål, 1871 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomidae: Pentatominae)

The Pentatominae tribe Aeptini is revised. A key to the known genera is provided, together with redescription and figures. The genus Paramenestheus is revised, including a key to the species and figures to all the included taxa. Two new genera and eight new species are discovered and described. A phylogenetic analysis is included for the Aeptini, with two approaches, cladistic and maximum likelihood, both morphologically based. After these analysis it is concluded that it is a monophyletic tribe and has to be split into two subtribes: Aeptina (including Aeptus and Eribotes) and Menesthina (including Aeliosoma, Hillieria, Menestheus, Paramenestheus, Pseudaelia, New Genus 1, New Genus 2.). Diagnoses for both subtribes are included. Biogeographically it is hypothesized that the Aeptini have a Gondwanian origin which explains it current disjunct distribution in Africa and Australia. The importance of the findings on this dissertation, as well as the relationships among Aeptini and other Pentatominae groups is commented and disccused. Special reference is made to the importance of the presence of a mesosternal sulcus as a major character that may lead to a reclassification of the Pentatominae, having the Aeptini as one of the basal groups.
