An Implication on the Pion Distribution Amplitude from the Pion-Photon Transition Form Factor with the New BABAR Data

The new BABAR data on the pion-photon transition form factor arouses people's new interests on the determination of pion distribution amplitude. To explain the data, we take both the leading valence quark state's and the non-valence quark states' contributions into consideration, where the valence quark part up to next-to-leading order is presented and the non-valence quark part is estimated by a phenomenological model based on its limiting behavior at both Q20Q^2\to 0 and Q2Q^2\to\infty. Our results show that to be consistent with the new BABAR data at large Q2Q^2 region, a broader other than the asymptotic-like pion distribution amplitude should be adopted. The broadness of the pion distribution amplitude is controlled by a parameter BB. It has been found that the new BABAR data at low and high energy regions can be explained simultaneously by setting BB to be around 0.60, in which the pion distribution amplitude is closed to the Chernyak-Zhitnitsky form.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, 2 tables. The Electric Dipole Moment and CP Violation in BXsl+lB \to X_s l^+ l^- in SUGRA Models with Nonuniversal Gaugino Masses

    Get PDF
The constraints of electric dipole moments (EDMs) of electron and neutron on the parameter space in supergravity (SUGRA) models with nonuniversal gaugino masses are analyzed. It is shown that with a light sparticle spectrum, the sufficient cancellations in the calculation of EDMs can happen for all phases being order of one in the small tanβ\beta case and all phases but ϕμ\phi_{\mu} (ϕμ<π/6|\phi_{\mu}| <\sim \pi/6) order of one in the large tanβ\beta case. This is in contrast to the case of mSUGRA in which in the parameter space where cancellations among various SUSY contributions to EDMs happen ϕμ|\phi_{\mu}| must be less than π/10\pi/10 for small tanβtan\beta and O(102){\cal{O}}(10^{-2}) for large tanβtan\beta. Direct CP asymmetries and the T-odd polarization of lepton in BXsl+lB\to X_s l^+l^- are investigated in the models. In the large tanβ\beta case, ACP2A_{CP}^2 and PNP_N for l=μ\mu (τ\tau) can be enhanced by about a factor of ten (ten) and ten (three) respectively compared to those of mSUGRA.Comment: 12 pages, latex, 4 figures, a few change

Pion Form Factor in the kTk_T Factorization Formalism

Based on the light-cone (LC) framework and the kTk_T factorization formalism, the transverse momentum effects and the different helicity components' contributions to the pion form factor Fπ(Q2)F_{\pi}(Q^2) are recalculated. In particular, the contribution to the pion form factor from the higher helicity components (λ1+λ2=±1\lambda_1+\lambda_2=\pm 1), which come from the spin-space Wigner rotation, are analyzed in the soft and hard energy regions respectively. Our results show that the right power behavior of the hard contribution from the higher helicity components can only be obtained by fully keeping the kTk_T dependence in the hard amplitude, and that the kTk_T dependence in LC wave function affects the hard and soft contributions substantially. As an example, we employ a model LC wave function to calculate the pion form factor and then compare the numerical predictions with the experimental data. It is shown that the soft contribution is less important at the intermediate energy region.Comment: 21 pages, 4 figure

We prove several new transversality results for formal CR maps between formal real hypersurfaces in complex space. Both cases of finite and infinite type hypersurfaces are tackled in this note

Units of relativistic time scales and associated quantities

    Get PDF
This note suggests nomenclature for dealing with the units of various astronomical quantities that are used with the relativistic time scales TT, TDB, TCB and TCG. It is suggested to avoid wordings like "TDB units" and "TT units" and avoid contrasting them to "SI units". The quantities intended for use with TCG, TCB, TT or TDB should be called "TCG-compatible", "TCB-compatible", "TT-compatible" or "TDB-compatible", respectively. The names of the units second and meter for numerical values of all these quantities should be used with out any adjectives. This suggestion comes from a special discussion forum created within IAU Commission 52 "Relativity in Fundamental Astronomy"

CP Asymmetry of BXsl+lB\to X_sl^+l^- in Low Invariant Mass Region

    Get PDF
I analyzed the CP asymmetry of BXsl+lB\to X_sl^+l^- based on model-independent analysis which includes twelve independent four Fermi operators. The CP asymmetry is suppressed in the Standard Model, however, if some new physics make it much larger, the present or the next generation B factories may catch the CP violation in this decay mode. In this paper, we studied the correlation of the asymmetry and the branching ratio, and then we will find only a type of interactions can be enlarge the asymmetry. Therefore, in comparison with experiments, we have possibility that we can constrain models beyond the standard model.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures, LaTeX, Accepted for Physical Review
