The article is devoted to one of the autonomous regions of the People’s Republic of China — the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (NHAR). The historical events associated with the territory of modern NHAR, the features of the development of Islam in China and the formation of the Hui ethnic group is showed in the article. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the creation of the NHAR was due to the ideological concepts of national development laid down in the 1954 Constitution of the People's Republic of China. Based on documents published in China in Chinese, it is proved that the creation of the NHAR played a significant role in the ethnic development of the Hui people. It was revealed that the political changes that took place in the PRC in 1958-1976 and associated with the policy of the “Three Red Banners” and the “Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution” caused significant damage both to the economy of the NHAR and to ethnic stability in the considered region of China. The implementation of political campaigns of this period even led to clashes on confessional and ethnic grounds, which required the use of armed force to suppress them. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the situation in the NHAR began to stabilize and change only after the death of Mao Zedong and the beginning of Deng Xiaoping's reforms in 1979

Chronic liver disease is a serious problem for public health service. As a result of increasing alcoholization of population, drug addiction, number of patients with parenteral hepatitis (B, C, D) the conditions for significant increase of number of patients with hepatocirrhosis appear. The aim. of our study was to determine the most optima! methods of diagnostics of patients with toxic and cirrhotic lesions of liver. The object of the research was 67 patients treated, in Irkutsk Municipal Clinical Hospital N 1 during 2007—2011 years with liver cirrhosis. All the patients had. diagnostic laparoscopy with determination. of the level of cytokines, albumins and. gamma-globulins with further clinicomorphological and. statistical analysis of the results. It was revealed that complex use of instrumental and. laboratory methods allows to diagnose liver cirrhosis at the early stage of its progress very precisely.

Phylogenetic structure of European forest vegetation

[Aims] (a) To determine the contribution of current macro-environmental factors in explaining the phylogenetic structure of European forest vegetation, (b) to map and describe spatial patterns in their phylogenetic structure and (c) to examine which lineages are the most important contributors to phylogenetic clustering and whether their contribution varies across forest types and regions. [Location] Europe. [Taxon] Angiosperms. [Methods] We analysed the phylogenetic structure of 61,816 georeferenced forest vegetation plots across Europe considering alternative metrics either sensitive to basal (ancient evolutionary dynamics) or terminal (recent dynamics) branching in the phylogeny. We used boosted regression trees to model metrics of the phylogenetic structure as a function of current macro-environmental factors. We also identified clades encompassing significantly more taxa than under random expectation in phylogenetically clustered plots. [Results] Phylogenetic clustering was driven by climatic stress and instability and was strong in the areas glaciated during the Pleistocene, likely reflecting limited postglacial migration, and to a lower extent in areas of northern-central Europe and in summer-dry Mediterranean regions. Phylogenetic overdispersion was frequent in the hemiboreal zone in Russia, in some areas around the Mediterranean Basin, and along the Atlantic seaboard of the Iberian Peninsula. The families Ericaceae, Poaceae and Fagaceae were overrepresented in clustered plots in different regions of Europe. [Main conclusions] We provide the first maps and analyses on the phylogenetic structure of European forest vegetation at the plot level. Our results highlight the role of environmental filtering, postglacial dispersal limitation and spatial transitions between major biomes in determining the distribution of plant lineages in Europe. The study was supported by the Czech Science Foundation (19-28491X). Consensus guidelines for antifungal stewardship, surveillance and infection prevention, 2021

    No full text
Invasive fungal diseases (IFD) are serious infections associated with high mortality, particularly in immunocompromised patients. The prescribing of antifungal agents to prevent and treat IFD is associated with substantial economic burden on the health system, high rates of adverse drug reactions, significant drug-drug interactions and the emergence of antifungal resistance. As the population at risk of IFD continues to grow due to the increased burden of cancer and related factors, the need for hospitals to employ antifungal stewardship (AFS) programmes and measures to monitor and prevent infection has become increasingly important. These guidelines outline the essential components, key interventions and metrics, which can help guide implementation of an AFS programme in order to optimise antifungal prescribing and IFD management. Specific recommendations are provided for quality processes for the prevention of IFD in the setting of outbreaks, during hospital building works, and in the context of Candida auris infection. Recommendations are detailed for the implementation of IFD surveillance to enhance detection of outbreaks, evaluate infection prevention and prophylaxis interventions and to allow benchmarking between hospitals. Areas in which information is still lacking and further research is required are also highlighted.Anna Khanina, Shio Yen Tio ,Michelle R. Ananda-Rajah, Sarah E.
