Investigation of the influence of the mode of heat treatment of the initial powder on the efficiency of sintering zirconium ceramics by dilatometry
Using methods of synchronous thermal and X-ray structural analyzes applied to zirconium dioxide powders partially stabilized with yttrium obtained by chemical coprecipitation the processes of dehydration of these powders during annealing in air have been investigated. Using the dilatometry method, the regularities of compaction of powder compacts have been investigated with thermal sintering. It was found that the resulting powders mainly consist of the tetragonal modification zirconium dioxide and are nano-sized. The average particle size was 25 nm. The resulting powders are characterized by a high degree of agglomeration. It is shown that an increase in the thermal annealing temperature from 500 to 700ºС leads to partial baking of individual particles inside the agglomerate, and causes the formation of hard agglomerates, the presence of which complicates the processes of compaction and subsequent sintering. The presence of such agglomerates prevents the production of ceramics with high mechanical characteristics: density and porosity. Thermal annealing temperature increase leads to a decrease in the density of the sintered ceramic and a decrease in its hardness
Perfectionism as a Predictor of Anxiety in Foreign Language Classrooms among Russian College Students
This study examined perfectionism as a multidimensional personality factor which influences foreign language learning and classroom anxiety. Hierarchical regression analyses confirmed that the two dimensions of perfectionism, adaptive and maladaptive, relate to Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety (FLCA) differently. After controlling for the effects of general anxiety, perceptions of academic performance, and self-reported English fluency, perfectionistic discrepancy (maladaptive aspect) was a significant predictor of FLCA; perfectionistic standards (adaptive aspect) was not. Measures indicated that this multidimensional nature of perfectionism affects Russian students in the context of foreign language classroom anxiety. Implications regarding the prevention and intervention of maladaptive perfectionism among students are discussed, as well as directions for future studies. These findings are important for teachers, students, and experts who may interact with FLCA and perfectionism as well as those who may personally experience it. The possible strategies to reduce anxiety could include discussing unrealistic beliefs and expectations with reference to foreign language learning, accepting mistakes as an integral part of foreign language learning as well as coaching
Sustainable development of a coal-mining region: technological and ecological aspects
Objective: to consider sustainable development of a region with mining as predominant economic activity through the prism of the relationship between technological and environmental aspects; to determine the impact of technological development of the coal-mining region on its sustainable development. Methods: the methods of statistical observation, summarizing and grouping of statistical observation materials, the method of analogy, as well as analytical and synthetic methods of analysis were used. Results: the level of technological development and environmental safety has a significant impact on almost all spheres of life, especially in the regions where economic growth is based on mining enterprises. In these conditions, it is of particular importance to assess the relationship between the development of the region specializing in mining, and the level of its technological and environmental development. To this end, on the basis of statistical data, the article assesses the state of technical, technological and environmental components of the coal-mining region (by the example of Kemerovo region), determines their role in improving regional competitiveness and ensuring sustainable development. The specific features and problems of coal industry technologization are revealed, the prospects of its development are determined, the experience of foreign countries is considered. It is established that the technical and technological state of the raw materials sector of Kemerovo region is a threat to regional sustainable development and does not contribute to the increase of its competitive advantages. Among the factors constraining the development of the technical and technological sphere and, as a consequence, the increase in environmental safety, are: high technological inertia of mining enterprises, low-efficiency owner, significant dependence on imports of production means, detachment of the state from the processes of withdrawal and redistribution of raw materials rent.Scientific novelty: increasing the technological level of coal industry through the creation and use of safe, environmentally friendly technologies designed to minimize environmental harm is recognized as the basis for sustainable development of a coal-mining region.Practical significance: the main provisions and conclusions can be used in the development of regional scientific, technical and environmental policies and programs of socio-economic development of territories
Infrared spectroscopy study of the in-plane response of YBa2Cu3O6.6 in magnetic fields up to 30 Tesla
With Terahertz and Infrared spectroscopy we studied the in-plane response of
an underdoped YBa2Cu3O6.6 single crystal with Tc=58(1) K in high magnetic
fields up to B=30 Tesla applied along the c-axis. Our goal was to investigate
the field-induced suppression of superconductivity and to observe the
signatures of the three dimensional (3d) incommensurate copper charge density
wave (Cu-CDW) which was previously shown to develop at such high magnetic
fields. Our study confirms that a B-field in excess of 20 Tesla gives rise to a
full suppression of the macroscopic response of the superconducting condensate.
However, it reveals surprisingly weak signatures of the 3d Cu-CDW at high
magnetic fields. At 30 Tesla there is only a weak reduction of the spectral
weight of the Drude-response (by about 3%) that is accompanied by an
enhancement of two narrow electronic modes around 90 and 240 cm-1, that are
interpreted in terms of pinned phase modes of the CDW along the a- and
b-direction, respectively, and of the so-called mid-infrared (MIR) band. The
pinned phased modes and the MIR band are strong features already without
magnetic field which suggests that prominent but short-ranged and slowly
fluctuating (compared to the picosecond IR-time scale) CDW correlations exist
all along, i.e., even at zero magnetic field.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figure

Scaling of the Fano effect of the in-plane Fe-As phonon and the superconducting critical temperature in BaKFeAs
By means of infrared spectroscopy we determine the temperature-doping phase
diagram of the Fano effect for the in-plane Fe-As stretching mode in
BaKFeAs. The Fano parameter , which is a
measure of the phonon coupling to the electronic particle-hole continuum, shows
a remarkable sensitivity to the magnetic/structural orderings at low
temperatures. More strikingly, at elevated temperatures in the
paramagnetic/tetragonal state we find a linear correlation between and
the superconducting critical temperature . Based on theoretical
calculations and symmetry considerations, we identify the relevant interband
transitions that are coupled to the Fe-As mode. In particular, we show that a
sizable orbital component at the Fermi level is fundamental for the Fano
effect and possibly also for the superconducting pairing.Comment: Supplemental materials are available upon reques
Teaching Foreign Language Scientific Communication Masters in Non-languistic Higher School
The article deals with the question of masters’ teaching foreign language scientific communication in non-linguistic higher school. Since modern science involves an active international staff and exchange of scientific and professional information, the master must have formed foreign language competence. The authors substantiate the necessity of teaching foreign language communication for adequate communication in the scientific and professional fields. Foreign language scientific communication training is conducted on the basis of interdisciplinary, contextual and personal — oriented approaches
