    Ureia e glicerina bruta como aditivos na ensilagem de cana-de-açúcar

    Objetivou-se avaliar a inclusão de ureia e glicerina bruta como aditivos na ensilagem da cana-de-açúcar, na composição químico-bromatológica, pH, N-amoniacal (N-NH3) e digestibilidade in vitro (DIV). Os tratamentos foram quatro doses de ureia, 0, 10, 20 e 30 g de ureia por kg de cana-de-açúcar na ensilagem, e cinco doses de glicerina bruta, 0, 10, 20, 30 e 40g de glicerina bruta por kg de cana-de-açúcar na ensilagem. As silagens foram armazenadas por 180 dias. O tratamento com ureia afetou a maioria das variáveis relacionadas ao valor nutritivo, aumentando os teores de matéria seca (MS) e proteína (PB) (2,58; 7,76; 18,70 e 19,31%), reduzindo os teores de fibra em detergente neutro (FDN) e melhorando a DIV da MS (42,61; 48,53; 50,69 e 51,18%) e FDN (38,81; 39,23; 41,06 e 43,46%), e as características fermentativas da silagem, apresentando valores de pH de 3,49; 3,86; 4,18 e 3,93 e de N-NH3 de 1,72; 3,80; 7,88 e 9,00, para as dose de 0, 10, 20 e 30 g, respectivamente. A glicerina bruta aumentou os teores de MS e extrato etéreo (1,45; 3,03; 3,62; 3,41 e 4,38%), melhorou a DIV da MS com valores de 49,61; 52,24; 53,28; 55,60 e 56,09% e reduziu perdas por gases durante o processo de fermentação, apresentando médias de 6,69; 5,97; 5,89; 5,51 e 5,48% da MS para as doses 0, 10, 20, 30 e 40g, respectivamente. Assim, a ureia e a glicerina bruta podem ser utilizadas como aditivos na ensilagem da cana-de-açúcar

    Effects of ZnO interlayers on thick GaN/Si film prepared by RF magnetron sputtering

    We have successfully prepared a high-quality 2 mu m-thick GaN film with three inserted 30 nm-thick ZnO interlayers on Si (111) substrate without cracks by magnetron sputtering. The effects of the thickness and number of ZnO interlayers on the crystal quality of the GaN films were studied. It was found that the GaN crystal quality initially improved with the increase of the thickness of ZnO interlayers, but deteriorated quickly when the thickness exceeded 30 nm. Multiple ZnO interlayers were used as an effective means to further improve the crystal quality of the GaN film. By increasing the number of interlayers up to three, the cracks can be constrained to a certain extent, and the crystal quality of the GaN film greatly improved. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.     This study was made to determine the knowledge, attitude, and factors affecting self-medication practices among Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing & Advertising (BSBA Marketing-Advertising) of De La Salle University-Dasmarinas and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS Nursing) students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute, S.Y. 2015-2016. The study was a cross-sectional research which used self-administered questionnaires to collect data regarding the demographic profiles, knowledge, attitude, and the factors affecting the self-medication practices of the respondents chosen via clustered sampling. It was then found out that the most respondents self-medicate (88%), and most of them have self-medicated for three times (21.6%). The most common conditions that urged the respondents on self-medication, specifically the information regarding what medicine to use, include the opinions of family members (32.0%), previous physician\u27s prescription (23.8%), and the respondent\u27s own experience with regards to the drug (19.1%). It was also observed that the respondents self-medicate due to convenience (56.5%) and cost-saving tendencies (31.6%) and majority of the respondents believed that self-medication is an acceptable practice (68.1%)
