Multilateral Economic Ties of Mongolia with its Asian Trading Partners in period of 2011-2021

    Get PDF
This article gives insight of main aspects of Mongolian’s economy related to its Asian Trading Partners namely China, India, South Korea and Japan in period of 2011-2021. To give more clarity about the main trading partners of Mongolia there are two countries: China and Russia, but the author focuses only on the Asian trading partners. The main goal is to popularise still not well known economy of Mongolia and to see how it was developed in analysed period of 2011-2022. As the methodology of the research the author used empirical analysis based mainly on Macrobond data which also has access to Mongolian Statistics Office data and also to available world reports such OECD, UNCTAD. Besides that, the article was consulted with Mongolian Ambassador in Poland and it was enriched this way with his best knowledge regarding economy and Mongolia international trade and investment policy. The interesting aspect which was raised by the author in this article was the future state of economy of Mongolia after pandemic of SARSCoV-2 and impact of the restrictions imposed on Russia due to the war on Ukrain

A New Colorimetric Assay for Methionyl Aminopeptidases: Examination of the Binding of a New Class of Pseudopeptide Analog Inhibitors

    Get PDF
A direct and convenient spectrophotometric assay has been developed for methionine aminopeptidases (MetAPs). The method employs the hydrolysis of a substrate that is a methionyl analogue of p-nitroaniline (l-Met-p-NA), which releases the chromogenic product p-nitroaniline. This chromogenic product can be monitored continuously using a UV–Vis spectrophotometer set at 405 nm. The assay was tested with the type I MetAP from Escherichia coli (EcMetAP-I) and the type II MetAP from Pyrococcus furiosus (PfMetAP-II). Using l-Met-p-NA, the kinetic constants kcat and Km were determined for EcMetAP-I and PfMetAP-II and were compared with those obtained with a “standard” high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) discontinuous assay. The assay has also been used to determine the temperature dependence of the kinetic constant kcat for PfMetAP-II as well as to screen two novel pseudopeptide inhibitors of MetAPs. The results demonstrate that l-Met-p-NA provides a fast, convenient, and effective substrate for both type I and type II MetAPs and that this substrate can be used to quickly screen inhibitors of MetAPs

AC and DC conductivity correlation: The coefficient of Barton--Nakajima--Namikawa relation

It has been some time since an empirical relation, which correlates DC with AC conductivity and contains a loosely defined coefficient thought to be of order one, was introduced by Barton, Nakajima and Namikawa. In this work, we derived this relation assuming that the conductive response consists of a superposition of DC conductivity and an AC conductivity term which materialized through a Havriliak--Negami dielectric function. The coefficient was found to depend on the Havriliak--Negami shape parameters as well as on the ratio of two characteristic time scales of ions motion which are related to ionic polarization mechanism and the onset of AC conductivity. The results are discussed in relation to other relevant publications and they also applied to a polymeric material. Both, theoretical predictions and experimental evaluations of the BNN coefficient are in an excellent agreement, while this coefficient shows a gradual reduction as the temperature increases.Comment: 15 pages plain latex2e, 5 eps figures (new figures added). A Scaling Theory of Bifurcations in the Symmetric Weak-Noise Escape Problem

We consider the overdamped limit of two-dimensional double well systems perturbed by weak noise. In the weak noise limit the most probable fluctuational path leading from either point attractor to the separatrix (the most probable escape path, or MPEP) must terminate on the saddle between the two wells. However, as the parameters of a symmetric double well system are varied, a unique MPEP may bifurcate into two equally likely MPEP's. At the bifurcation point in parameter space, the activation kinetics of the system become non-Arrhenius. In this paper we quantify the non-Arrhenius behavior of a system at the bifurcation point, by using the Maslov-WKB method to construct an approximation to the quasistationary probability distribution of the system that is valid in a boundary layer near the separatrix. The approximation is a formal asymptotic solution of the Smoluchowski equation. Our analysis relies on the development of a new scaling theory, which yields `critical exponents' describing weak-noise behavior near the saddle, at the bifurcation point.Comment: LaTeX, 60 pages, 24 Postscript figures.
