Background: Breast cancer is the fifth leading cause of death due to all the type of cancer and the second leading cause of death in developing country after lung cancer. The global incidents of this disease were 43%. The cancer cells have an ability to disturb the nutrients absorbtion in the body and give an effect of decreasing nutritional status, physical performance and quality of life. Objective: To show the relationship between nutrient intake, nutritional status and quality of life, breast cancer patients with radiotherapy at RSUP Dr Sardjito Yogyakarta. Method: This study was an observational study with cross sectional design. Total subject of this study were 85 respondents. Intake of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrate were measured using 1x24 hours food recall. Nutritional status were measured using patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) questionnaire. Then the quality of life were measured using European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) questionnaire. Results: There were significant difference in the average intake of energy (p=0.013), protein (p=0.043) and fat (p=0.016) between severe malnourished, moderate malnourished and wellnourished patients, whereas the average intake of carbohydrate was not significant (p=0.070). The lower nutrition intake, the lower nutritional status. There was also significant difference in fat intake (p=0.035) and nutritional status based on PG-SGA (p=0.002) between patients with poor and good quality of life. Patients with poor quality of life had lower nutrition intake and nutritional status. Conclusion: Nutrient intake gave an effect to nutritional status and quality of life in breast cancer patient with radiotherapy

Introduction. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is the mostly done therapeutic interventional procedure in RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Monitoring the radiation dose received by operators and keep that dose within the safe limit are very important to avoid the possible radiation effects. Aims. The aims of this study were to compare the radiation dose of each PCI and cumulative dose received by operator to the radiation exposure limit (nilai batas dosis/NBD) and to compare the radiation dose at gonad height to chest height. Subject and Method. This was a comparative analytic observational study. Subjects were the operators of PCI procedures in Cath-lab Room 1 and 2 RSUP Dr. Sardjito in February-April 2014 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling method was consecutive sampling. The association between variables was analyzed comparatively, using numeric-comparative hypothesis

Color doppler sonography represent important non-invasive modality to diagnose abnormality at the liver. Abnormality at the liver relied on some normally parameter portal venous and hepatica artery from color doppler sonography. With color doppler sonography can be known the decrease of portal venous velocity and the increase of portal venous diameter that representing two characteristics of portal hypertension Portal venous velocity at normal people is 15-20 cm/sec at the basal state. Portal venous velocity will increase at or in post prandial situation. Drinking some water or eating some food composed protein, fat, or karbohydrat will influence situation of portal venous system indirecly. This research wanted to examine the difference of increase portal venous velocity at normal population with seen change portal venous velocity in state of fasting and 30 minute after eating fatty food or non-fatty food. The study design was a randomized controlled trial, double-blind. Samples were taken with consecutive sampling method. Study of 46 volunteer subjects in Radiology Dr Sardjito Yogyakarta in April-May 2011. Statistical analysis was used independent t-test. The result of statistical calculation with t-test get increased portal vein flow velocity in the group with provision of food without fat is higher than the group of fatty foods, with p<0.001 therefore p<0.05, the hypothesis was accepted. The conclusion that can be drawn that the increase in portal vein flow velocity was higher in the food without the fat load compared with loads of fatty foods on color doppler sonography examination

Background. CT plays an increasingly important role in the field of radiodiagnostic. The usage of X-ray in CT gives primary radiation on examined organs and scattered radiation on the surrounding organs. Gonad is a radiosensitive organ, so that radiation protection is required to minimize radiation effects. There are two types of shielding (apron clothes) which are 0,35 mmPb and 0,50mmPb shielding. The purpose of this study was to compare male gonad radiation dose with 0,35 mmPb and 0,50 mmPb shielding on patients examined using Head MSCT, to discover the effectiveness of the shielding. Materials and Method. This study was conducted on patients who were examined using Head MSCT scan. Research subjects were divided into group I with 0,35 mmPb shielding and group II with 0,50 mmPb shielding. Radiodiagnostic equipment was Philips Brilliance 64 slices MSCT. TLD radiation measurement was put on the skin surface of scrotum region, then covered by shielding. Research results. There was a difference in male gonad radiation dose with 0,35 mmPb shielding (0,0126mGy 0,0133mGy ) and 0,50 mmPb shielding (0,0045mGy ± 0,0069mGy). Statistically there was significant difference p < 0,0

Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide. Radiation therapy is one of the recommended therapies for cervical cancer. But its side effects can suppress bone marrow which decreases hemoglobin (Hb) levels. Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carry oxygen. During radiation therapy, tumor response depends on tissue oxygenation. Objective: To know the association between hemoglobin levels with tumor response after radiation therapy in patients with cervical cancer. Material and Methods: This study was conducted between May 2012 and February 2013 in 30 patients with cervical cancer during radiation therapy. Hemoglobin level and tumor response were taken from medical record retrospectively. Measurement of Hb levels and tumor response was performed 6 times per week for 5 weeks. Tumor response was measured from the length of tumor. This study used RECIST (Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors) to evaluate tumor response. Result: During the 5 weeks of therapy, the lowest nadir Hb level was occurred in the second week and the lowest mean Hb level was occurred in the third week. Sixty percent patients had complete response. Partial response was experienced by 40% patient. Mean hemoglobin levels (< 10.5 g/dL) associated with worsening tumor response in patients underwent radiation therapy for 5 weeks (p = 0.045). Conclusion: There was a significant association between the mean hemoglobin levels with tumor response. In this study, the low mean Hb level during radiation therapy could cause a worsening of tumor response. So, the physicians should maintain Hb level above 10.5 g/dL by iron supplementation, blood transfusion, or recombinant human erythropoietin
