Detection of the first X-ray selected large AGN group

We have examined the spatial distribution of 856 AGN detected by the ROSAT All-Sky Survey (RASS) using a direct search for structures with the minimal spanning tree. The AGNs were compiled from an area of 7000 deg^2, in which optical identifications of RASS sources were made with the help of the digitized objective prism plates of the Hamburg Quasar Survey (HQS). Redshifts were taken from the literature or from own follow-up observations. The sample probes the spatial distribution at low redshifts, since the redshift distribution peaks at z=0.1. The application of the minimal spanning tree led to a 1.8 sigma discovery of an AGN group with 7 members in a volume V=140*75*75 h^-3Mpc^3 in the Pisces constellation. With a mean redshift z=0.27 this group is only the third discovered group at redshifts z<0.5. The RASS offers excellent possibilities to study large scale structure with AGNs at low redshifts, once these redshifts are determined.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in MNRA

El exclusivismo traductológico: ¿un mito völkisch?

Congreso Internacional celebrado en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid del 24 al 26 de septiembre de 2012Martin Heidegger se hizo célebre por la voluntad de repetir la pregunta por el ser. Este trámite está basado en el postulado de que el griego sólo es el logos. Es por eso que se esfuerza tercamente en regresar a este idioma madre para resucitar la experiencia original y casi mística de una identidad entre las palabras y las cosas. Pero la idea subyacente es también que el alemán sería el único idioma moderno capaz de traducir el griego antiguo respetando a su fuerza ontológica, o de reintegrar el significado del ser. No podemos dejar de relacionar este “exclusivismo traductológico”, esta supremacía filosófica del idioma germánico, con el proceso entablado al pensamiento heideggeriano. En este artículo, me pregunto si este proceso es típico del pensamiento nazi, de la ideología völkisch o si está relacionado con un nacionalismo mucho más antiguo

Literary practice according to Michel Henry

Although the author of four novels, Michel Henry never produced an aesthetics of literature. The purpose of this article is, after a presentation of his philosophy of immanence and his concept of life, to locate where the literary practice takes place in his system. In this study, we are not interested in the poetic quality of his works, but in the possibility to base his singular creativity on his philosophical reflection. This leads us to insert literature in the vast phenomenon of culture and ethics, and to grasp the function of poetics in the struggle against barbarism.Quoique l'auteur de quatre romans, dont l'un a été couronné par l'un des prix littéraires les plus prestigieux, Michel Henry n'a jamais véritablement formulé une esthétique du roman.
