Evidence for LineLike Vortex Liquid Phase in TlBaCaCuO Probed by the Josephson Plasma Resonance
We measured the Josephson plasma resonance (JPR) in optimally doped
TlBaCaCuO thin films using terahertz time-domain
spectroscopy in transmission. The temperature and magnetic field dependence of
the JPR frequency shows that the c-axis correlations of pancake vortices remain
intact at the transition from the vortex solid to the liquid phase. In this
respect TlBaCaCuO films, withanisotropy parameter
, are similar to the less anisotropic
YBaCuO rather than to the most

Transverse optical Josephson plasmons, equations of motion
A detailed calculation is presented of the dielectric function in
superconducttors consisting of two Josephson coupled superconducting layers per
unit cell, taking into account the effect of finite compressibility of the
electron fluid. From the model it follows, that two longitudinal, and one
transverse optical Josephson plasma resonance exist in these materials, for
electric field polarization perpendicular to the planes. The latter mode
appears as a resonance in the transverse dielectric function, and it couples
directly to the electrical field vector of infrared radiation. A shift of all
plasma frequencies, and a reduction of the intensity of the transverse optical
Josephson plasmon is shown to result from the finite compressibility of the

Nuclear Proteomics Uncovers Diurnal Regulatory Landscapes in Mouse Liver.
Diurnal oscillations of gene expression controlled by the circadian clock and its connected feeding rhythm enable organisms to coordinate their physiologies with daily environmental cycles. While available techniques yielded crucial insights into regulation at the transcriptional level, much less is known about temporally controlled functions within the nucleus and their regulation at the protein level. Here, we quantified the temporal nuclear accumulation of proteins and phosphoproteins from mouse liver by SILAC proteomics. We identified around 5,000 nuclear proteins, over 500 of which showed a diurnal accumulation. Parallel analysis of the nuclear phosphoproteome enabled the inference of the temporal activity of kinases accounting for rhythmic phosphorylation. Many identified rhythmic proteins were parts of nuclear complexes involved in transcriptional regulation, ribosome biogenesis, DNA repair, and the cell cycle and its potentially associated diurnal rhythm of hepatocyte polyploidy. Taken together, these findings provide unprecedented insights into the diurnal regulatory landscape of the mouse liver nucleus
Observation of the Transverse Optical Plasmon in SmLa0.8Sr0.2CuO4-d
We present microwave and infrared measurements on SmLa0.8Sr0.2CuO4-d, which
are direct evidence for the existence of a transverse optical plasma mode,
observed as a peak in the c-axis optical conductivity. This mode appears as a
consequence of the existence of two different intrinsic Josephson couplings
between the CuO2 layers, one with a Sm2O2 block layer, and the other one with a
(La,Sr)O block layer. From the frequencies and the intensities of the
collective modes we determine the value of the compressibility of the two

Systematics of c-axis Phonons in the Thallium and Bismuth Based Cuprate Superconductors
We present grazing incidence reflectivity measurements in the far infrared
region at temperatures above and below Tc for a series of thallium (Tl2Ba2CuO6,
Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8) and bismuth (Bi2Sr2CuO6, Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, and
Bi(2-x)Pb(x)Sr2CaCu2O8) based cuprate superconductors. From the spectra, which
are dominated by the c-axis phonons, longitudinal frequencies (LO) are directly
obtained. The reflectivity curves are well fitted by a series of Lorentz
oscillators. In this way the transverse (TO) phonon frequencies were accurately
determined. On the basis of the comparative study of the Bi and Tl based
cuprates with different number of CuO2 layers per unit cell, we suggest
modifications of the assignment of the main oxygen modes. We compare the LO
frequencies in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 and Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10 obtained from intrinsic
Josephson junction characteristics with our measurements, and explain the

Weak-Link Structure in YBa2Cu3O7 Single Crystals: A Microwave Study
Field-dependent microwave absorption in high-quality YBa2Cu3O7 single crystals shows that even very low magnetic fields penetrate into the sample. In the temperature interval of a few degrees below Tc, a broad hysteretic signal is observed. We interpret it in terms of a dense structure of weak links, whose origin is in twin boundaries and other thin defect planes. As the temperature is reduced, the critical currents of these junctions increase rapidly, and approach the bulk value. The broad signal then vanishes. At low temperatures one can observe narrow discrete absorption lines due to occasional defects of a different kind, which are thicker and, therefore, maintain a weak coupling. The dense structure of weak links, active just below Tc, may preclude the measurements of some intrinsic bulk superconducting properties close to Tc, and invalidate a straightforward comparison of experimental data with theoretical predictions
Morfometrijsko ispitivanje nabora crevne sluzokože šarana hranjenog različitom dodatnom hranom u poluintenzivnom sistemu
U poluintenzivnom sistemu gajenja šarana u poslednjoj deceniji dolazi do promena u vrsti dodatne hrane koje povećavaju održivost proizvodnje. Sa žitarica koje su se godinama koristile kao dodata hrana, sada se prelazi na peletiranu i ekstrudiranu hranu. Ova zamena uzrokuje i promene u fiziologiji varenja riba, a kao posledica se dešavaju morfološke promene na crevima. Najčešće se na organima za varenje riba gajenih u akvakulturi ne nalaze teže histopatološke promene, pa se pribegava kvantifikaciji i morfometriji histoloških parametara koje mogu da ukažu na odstupanja od normalne građe/funkcije. Metod evaluacije dužine crevnih nabora je korišćen u velikom broju studija koje su se bavile efektima različitih tipova hrane i/ili aditiva na crevo riba. Cilj rada je da se utvrdi efekat različitih tipova hrane (žitarice, peletirana, ekstrudirana hrana) na crevo šarana merenjem dužine crevnih nabora kod riba koje su gajene poluintenzivno. Dužina crevnih nabora je korelisana sa prirastom ribe.
Kretanje dužine crevnih nabora po jezerima/vrsti dodate hrane je imalo pravilan tok (Fig. 1). Najkraći crevni nabori su izmereni kod riba hranjenih žitaricama. U sva tri jezera primetan je pad dužine nabora u junu. U ovom mesecu su vrednosti najmanje, manje čak i od inicijalnih na početku eksperimenta (u aprilu), kao i vrednosti dobijenih u maju. Od juna dužina nabora creva konstantno raste kod riba u svim jezerima, bez obzira na tip dodate hrane.
Rezultati su pokazali visok stepen statistički značajne korelacije između mase tela ribe i dužine crevnih nabora u svim jezerima (Tab. 2). Ukoliko se posmatraju pojedinačna jezera, vrednosti se kreću između 0.82 kod riba hranjenih peletiranom hranom, preko 0.83 kod riba hranjenih žitaricama do 0.86 kod riba hranjenih ekstrudiranom hranom. Dužina crevnih nabora je koristan parametar u eksperimentima ishrane riba i često se primenjuje u proceni efekta određene hrane na crevo riba. Smanjenje dužine nabora može da ukaže na pojavu enteritisa, na nedovoljnu ishranu ili gladovanje. Naši rezultati pokazuju pozitivnu korelaciju između mase tela ribe i dužine crevnih nabora. Oni su u skladu i sa sličnim istraživanjima koja su sprovedena na drugim životinjskim vrstama, mahom na domaćim životinjama. Crevni nabori na početku eksperimenta ne rastu, čak pokazuju trend pada sve do juna meseca i to iako ribe pokazuju konstantan prirast u svim jezerima, što se objašnjava količinom prirodne hrane koja je u to doba najveća u jezerima. Naime, na osnovu analize prirodne hrane tokom ovog perioda možemo videti da postoji velika biomasa zooplanktona u toku aprila, maja i juna dok je zoobentos na niskom nivou u svim jezerima u toku celog eksperimenta i ne prelazi 10 g/m2. Ovo uzrokuje promene u načinu ishrane ribe od juna meseca. Do tada se šaran hranio uglavnom zooplanktonom, koga je bilo u izobilju, a nakon toga, početkom juna, zbog nedostatka prirodne hrane,riba počinje da sve više konzumira dodatu, što uzrokuje i povećanje dužine crevnih nabora, s obzirom da su pelete, kojom se ribe hrane voluminoznije i većih dimenzija od zooplanktona. Hranjenjem, ribe pune creva i samim tim ih i šire, što omogućava povećanje apsorpcione površine povećanjem dužine crevnih nabora. Ovaj fenomen u stvari predstavlja adaptaciju creva na različite tipove hrane kod riba.
Naše istraživanje je pokazalo da praćenje histologije šarana može da ukaže kako se odvija proces varenja zavisno od dela sezone/razvoja zajednice zooplanktona, ali i vrste dodate hrane u poluintenzivnom sistemu
