Polarized Negative Ion Source with Multiply Sphericaly Focusing Surface Plasma Ionizer

It is proposed one universal H-/D- ion source design combining the most advanced developments in the field of polarized ion sources to provide high-current high-brightness ion beams with >90% polarization and improved lifetime, reliability, and power efficiency. The new source utilizes high-efficiency resonant charge-exchange ionization of polarized neutral atoms by negative ions generated by cesiated surface-plasma interactions via a multi-spherical negative ion focusing element. Multi-spherical focusing of the negative ions strongly suppresses the parasitic generation of unpolarized H-/D- ions. By incorporating new and novel designs for the dissociator and plasma generator in parallel with the multi-spherical focusing the design can suppress adsorption and depolarization of particles from the polarized beam greatly improving performance over current concepts

    Hamiltonian structures for general PDEs

We sketch out a new geometric framework to construct Hamiltonian operators for generic, non-evolutionary partial differential equations. Examples on how the formalism works are provided for the KdV equation, Camassa-Holm equation, and Kupershmidt's deformation of a bi-Hamiltonian system.Comment: 12 pages; v2, v3: minor correction

Carbon Film in Radio Frequency Surface Plasma Source with Cesiation

It is assumed that persistent cesiation in the SNS RF SPS is related to deposition of carbon film on the collar converter. The work function dependence for graphite with alkali deposition has no minimum typical for metals and semiconductors and the final work function is higher. For this reason, the probability of H- secondary emission from cesiated metal and semiconductors can be higher than from cesiated carbon films but the carbon film maintains cesiation longer and can operate with low cesium consumption

The problem questions of criminalistic interrelations of the crime method in sphere of economic activities with other elements of criminalistic characteristic (a subject of a criminal infringement, personality of a criminal, typical traces) are studied. Depending on circumstances, key value when investigating crimes in the sphere of economic activity may have any from the specified elements of the criminalistic characterictics. The analysis of investigative and judicial practice shows that there exist correlation dependences between such structural elements of a criminalistic characteristic of crimes in the sphere of economic activity as their method, typical traces and criminal personalities because the type and the method of a crime are in a close relation with the criminal personality. But as this research and investigative practice proves, for this type of crimes the method occupies a special, leading position. It’s a system-forming element of a criminalistic characteristic which is related with the other dependences of high degree ofprobability. It’s explained by that a method is most informative, and in it (by means of it) all components of process of preparation, fulfillment and crime concealment in the sphere of economic activity are fully displayed. The crimes methods study is a source for the newest recommendations on struggle against crime. The data about this criminalistic category is used for working out tactical means and methodical recommendations about disclosure, investigation and the prevention of crimes in the sphere of economic activity and also for the organization and planning of investigation. In particular, the information about the methods of crimes is used for providing comprehensiveness, all-roundness and efficiency of investigation; for search of the persons who have committed a crime, and also for the prevention from their committing by already known methods or by such that could appear.

IIFor the first time a method of TG/DSC analysis under constant and variable gas phase composition was applied to reveal interconnection between quenching ramp rates and degree of phase transformation of cubic nonstoichiometric disordered perovskite (I) Sr(0.8)Dy(0.2)CoO(3-d) to tetragonal structure (II) with ordered Sr/Dy cations and anion vacancies. It was shown that the transformation is a first order phase transition and the ordering process is kinetically controlled. Based on the experimental transition enthalpy it was found that a formal conversion degree of I to II was 98-30% under cooling ramp rates 3-99 K/min. Non-linear relationship between the completeness of I-to-II transformation and mobile oxygen characteristics (content and the enthalpy of O-removal) was demonstrate

Sensitive Search for a Permanent Muon Electric Dipole Moment

We are proposing a new method to carry out a dedicated search for a permanent electric dipole moment (EDM) of the muon with a sensitivity at a level of 10^{-24} e cm. The experimental design exploits the strong motional electric field sensed by relativistic particles in a magnetic storage ring. As a key feature, a novel technique has been invented in which the g-2 precession is compensated with radial electric field. This technique will benefit greatly when the intense muon sources advocated by the developers of the muon storage rings and the muon colliders become available.Comment: 16 pages, 3 figures.
