    A scheme for demonstration of fractional statistics of anyons in an exactly solvable model

    We propose a scheme to demonstrate fractional statistics of anyons in an exactly solvable lattice model proposed by Kitaev that involves four-body interactions. The required many-body ground state, as well as the anyon excitations and their braiding operations, can be conveniently realized through \textit{dynamic}laser manipulation of cold atoms in an optical lattice. Due to the perfect localization of anyons in this model, we show that a quantum circuit with only six qubits is enough for demonstration of the basic braiding statistics of anyons. This opens up the immediate possibility of proof-of-principle experiments with trapped ions, photons, or nuclear magnetic resonance systems.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

    This paper presents GPUNFV, a high-performance NFV system providing flow-level micro services for stateful service chains with Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) acceleration. GPUNFV exploits the massively-parallel processing power ofGPU tomaximize the throughput of theNFV system. Combined with the customized flow handler, GPUNFV achieves a much better throughput than the existing NFV systems. With a carefully designed GPU-based virtualized network function framework, GPUNFV is able to e ciently support both stateful and stateless network functions.     Angular Momentum Conservation Law for Randall-Sundrum Models

    In Randall-Sundrum models, by the use of general Noether theorem, the covariant angular momentum conservation law is obtained with the respect to the local Lorentz transformations. The angular momentum current has also superpotential and is therefore identically conserved. The space-like components JijJ_{ij} of the angular momentum for Randall-Sundrum models are zero.     We investigate the conservation law of energy-momentum for Randall-Sundrum models by the general displacement transform. The energy-momentum current has a superpotential and are therefore identically conserved. It is shown that for Randall-Sundrum solution, the momentum vanishes and most of the bulk energy is localized near the Planck brane.     A new topological aspect of the arbitrary dimensional topological defects

    We present a new generalized topological current in terms of the order parameter field ϕ⃗\vec \phi to describe the arbitrary dimensional topological defects. By virtue of the % \phi-mapping method, we show that the topological defects are generated from the zero points of the order parameter field ϕ⃗\vec \phi, and the topological charges of these topological defects are topological quantized in terms of the Hopf indices and Brouwer degrees of ϕ\phi-mapping under the condition that the Jacobian % J(\frac \phi v)\neq 0. When J(ϕv)=0J(\frac \phi v)=0, it is shown that there exist the crucial case of branch process. Based on the implicit function theorem and the Taylor expansion, we detail the bifurcation of generalized topological current and find different directions of the bifurcation. The arbitrary dimensional topological defects are found splitting or merging at the degenerate point of field function ϕ⃗\vec \phi but the total charge of the topological defects is still unchanged.Comment: 24 pages, 10 figures, Revte

    The micellization and dissociation transitions of thermo-, pH- and sugar-sensitive block copolymer investigated by laser light scattering

    A triple-stimuli responsive polymer, poly(3-acrylamidophenylboronic acid)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PAAPBA-b-PNIPAM), has been synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. Temperature, pH, and fructose induced micellization and dissociation transition of block copolymer was investigated by a combination of static and dynamic laser light scattering. PAAPBA-b-PNIPAM copolymer self-assembles into micelles with PAAPBA block as core and PNIPAM as shell in lower pH aqueous solution at room temperature. Increasing the temperature causes the micelle to shrink due to the dehydration of PNIPAM segments at pH 6.2. After the elevation of solution pH from 6.2 to 10.0, the increase in the hydrophilicity of PAAPBA block leads to an expulsion of unimers from micelles. In addition, the fructose addition further enhances the dissociation of micelles. Our experiments demonstrate that the micelle to unimer transition process proceeds via the step-by-step sequential expulsion of individual chains

    Effects of matrine on JAK-STAT signaling transduction pathways in bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis

    The current study aims to investigate the effects of matrine on the JAK-STAT signaling transduction pathways in bleomycin (BLM)-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF) and to explore its action mechanism. A total of 72 male C57BL/6 mice were randomized into the control, model, and treatment groups. PF models were established by instilling BLM intratracheally. The treatment group was given daily matrine through gastric lavage. Six mice were sacrificed in each group at 3, 7, 14, and28 days. The lung tissues were observed using hematoxylin-eosin staining. The expression of JAK, STAT1, and STAT3 was observed using immunohistochemistry and then determined using real-time polymerase chain reaction. Alveolitis and PF significantly improved in the treatment group compared with the model group (P < 0.05). The expression of JAK, STAT1, and STAT3 in the model group increased at day 7, peaked at day 14 and then decreased, but the expression was still higher than that in the control group at day 28 (P < 0.05). The three indices in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the model group at any detection time point (P < 0.05). PF causes high expression of JAK, STAT1, and STAT3. Matrine exerts an anti-PF effect by inhibiting the JAK-STAT signaling transduction pathways.Key words: Pulmonary fibrosis, bleomycin, matrine, signaling transduction pathway
