Enhancing Attention’s Explanation Using Interpretable Tsetlin Machine

    Get PDF
Explainability is one of the key factors in Natural Language Processing (NLP) specially for legal documents, medical diagnosis, and clinical text. Attention mechanism has been a popular choice for such explainability recently by estimating the relative importance of input units. Recent research has revealed, however, that such processes tend to misidentify irrelevant input units when explaining them. This is due to the fact that language representation layers are initialized by pretrained word embedding that is not context-dependent. Such a lack of context-dependent knowledge in the initial layer makes it difficult for the model to concentrate on the important aspects of input. Usually, this does not impact the performance of the model, but the explainability differs from human understanding. Hence, in this paper, we propose an ensemble method to use logic-based information from the Tsetlin Machine to embed it into the initial representation layer in the neural network to enhance the model in terms of explainability. We obtain the global clause score for each word in the vocabulary and feed it into the neural network layer as context-dependent information. Our experiments show that the ensemble method enhances the explainability of the attention layer without sacrificing any performance of the model and even outperforming in some datasets.publishedVersio

    A Lite Romanian BERT:ALR-BERT

Large-scale pre-trained language representation and its promising performance in various downstream applications have become an area of interest in the field of natural language processing (NLP). There has been huge interest in further increasing the model’s size in order to outperform the best previously obtained performances. However, at some point, increasing the model’s parameters may lead to reaching its saturation point due to the limited capacity of GPU/TPU. In addition to this, such models are mostly available in English or a shared multilingual structure. Hence, in this paper, we propose a lite BERT trained on a large corpus solely in the Romanian language, which we called “A Lite Romanian BERT (ALR-BERT)”. Based on comprehensive empirical results, ALR-BERT produces models that scale far better than the original Romanian BERT. Alongside presenting the performance on downstream tasks, we detail the analysis of the training process and its parameters. We also intend to distribute our code and model as an open source together with the downstream task.publishedVersio

    TALENT MANAGEMENT IN SPORT ORGANIZATIONS

    Get PDF
Succession and talent management approach from sports organizations should be shaped by its strategic goals, the context in which it can be find, and human resources requirements. We will present the six steps that provide a work schedule to design and implement succession in management: a) planning/extending the process, b) providing strategic integration, c) assess the current situation, d) identifying and assessing gifted individuals e) implementation: planning and undertaking development, f) evaluation. In the starting phase, the organization must define a business case for the succession in management. The second step should be considered in the demographic light of the organization and implications of the demographic change upon the application of candidates for critical organizational roles. By the third step, by estimating the current state of play, it is performed a risk assessment of possible departures from the existing already critical roles. The fourth step is to identify and evaluate the potential. It incorporates the identification of critical roles in the organization and the development of a clear understanding of the capabilities required for effectiveness in those roles. The fifth step is the implementation and this involves planning and implementing the program. The last step is evaluation. For the organization, assessing its results could be determined in the following terms: if organizational risk decreased, reduced or not

Contributions concerning the study of the antiseptic effect of sulfur dioxide on the yeasts present in two wines provided by Cotnari vineyard

    Get PDF
Sulfur dioxide is one of the most used antiseptics in vinification. Its action on the "infection" microorganisms found in wine cellars is demonstrated by numerous studies. The present study shows that the antiseptic potential of sulfur dioxide is highly dependent on the concentration of its free form. The high concentrations of free sulfur dioxide corroborated with the prolonged contact period lead to the killing of the yeast cells quickly and evenly, while at low concentrations its lethal effect is greatly diminished. At low concentrations the lethal effect of sulfur dioxide is highly dependent on the contact time of the yeast cells with the environment. In this case, their mortality rate is very uneven. This phenomenon is also explained by the losses that occur due to the volatilization of sulfur dioxide, of oxidation or on account of its binding to other compounds

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE eSPORTS PHENOMENON

eSports (Electronics Sports or short for esports, e-sports) is the term used in multiplayer computer games competitions, most of them organized and dedicated to professional players. Nowadays, esports has become a real industry, generating profits for the hardware companies, for the event organizers, but especially for the players, who can reach record receipts from the awards given at different events around them. Esports has slowly evolved into a cultural phenomenon. Across Asia, North America and Europe, the best pro gamers are competing for a share in hundreds of thousands of dollars at each tournament, watched by thousands if not millions of people around the globe. The present paper aims to present some theoretical aspects regarding the connection between sport and society, and also the development of electronic sport in Romania. Globally, sponsorship has grown impressive over the last 30 years, receiving an increased importance in the communication mix of companies. Sport organizations have understood the importance and the role sponsorship it plays for the financial support they need. Sponsorship is the material support of an event, activity or organization by an unaffiliated partner. It is a good way to increase brand awareness, which helps to generate consumer preferences and promote brand loyalty and also improves the brand image. Brands play an important role in the development of companies because they bring a number of benefits to them. The paper "Innovation’s impact on sponsorship activation" aims to present a series of theoretical elements of activating sponsorship, as well as the element of innovation in this process, an element represented by the social media presence in our lives and in the last part of the paper is presented a study based on a survey on our topic. M-theory on Spin(7) Manifolds, Fluxes and 3D, N=1 Supergravity

We calculate the most general causal N=1 three-dimensional, gauge invariant action coupled to matter in superspace and derive its component form using Ectoplasmic integration theory. One example of such an action can be obtained by compactifying M-theory on a Spin(7) holonomy manifold taking non-vanishing fluxes into account. We show that the resulting three-dimensional theory is in agreement with the more general construction. The scalar potential resulting from Kaluza-Klein compactification stabilizes all the moduli fields describing deformations of the metric except for the radial modulus. This potential can be written in terms of the superpotential previously discussed in the literature.Comment: 37 pages no figures (LaTeX 2e

The role of bacterial infections in the development of respiratory diseases in swine

    Get PDF
Respiratory disease of bacterial etiology is a serious health problem on commercial farms.Pig production on commercial farms means keeping a large number of pigs in a relatively small space with a high level of technological organization of the production process. Intensive utilization of accommodation capacities, early weaning of piglets, inadequate microclimatic conditions for most of the statised categories and deficits in nutrition have conditioned the appearance of production or technological diseases. Production diseases of bacterial etiology are presented in this review paper. Diseases of bacterial etiology that occur at all stages of technological production are: atrophic rhinitis, enzootic swine pneumonia, pneumonia caused by pasteurellosis, bordetella, pneumonia caused by A. pleuropneumoniae, pneumonia caused by Haemophilus parasuis and pneumonia caused by Streptococcus. We have described the possibility of prophylaxis of these production diseases of bacterial etiology and the possibility of their control. These manufactured diseases cause economic losses (deaths, reduced daily gain, extended fattening time and treatment costs

Mycoplasmatic (enzootic) pneumonia of pigs as a health problem in fattening units

    Get PDF
Mycopasmatic or enzootic pneumonia is the most common disease of the respiratory system under in the intensive pig production. It is clinically manifested by coughing, a chronic inflammatory process in the lungs, high morbidity and a relatively low percentage of deaths. The infection can be transmitted horizontally and vertically. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae invades the epithelial cells of the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli and disrupts the function of the ciliary body. Evagination of epithelial cells occurs, so that the cleansing of the airway mucosa by the mucociliary apparatus is inhibited. As a result, bacterial complications (Pasteurella, Bordetella, Klebsiella, Actinobacillus, Hemophilus) are common.M.hyopneminia can play imortant role in PRDC. The development of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is favoured by large congregations of pigs in small spaces, inadequate environmental conditions (microclimate), parasitic infections and inadequate nutrition. Mycoplasma hyopneumonia can be a significant health problem on the fattening farm, exacerbated by the influence of non-specific factors as well as the spread of other bacterial pathogens

SCIENCE- RELIGION DIALOGUE. THE CASE OF ECONOMICS

    No full text
Many of the present day scientists think that religion can never come to terms with science. In sharp contrast with this widespread opinion, this paper argues that, historically, scientific reasoning and religious belief joined hands in their effort to investigate and understand reality. In fact, the present-day divorce between science and religion is nothing else than the final outcome of a gradual, long-term, and deliberately assumed process of science secularization. However, especially during the latest two decades, we are all the same confronted with the advance of a new concern that some of the nowadays scientists have, the one of reviewing the sphere of problems specific to the domains of investigation they are involved in, with the face to the themes that are usually addressed by the theological thought. The paper describes this recent development as being captured by an emerging new field of investigation within the modern scientific epistemology: the dialogue between Science and Religion. It is also shown that the dialogue follows two divergent directions of analysis, namely the scholastic approach and the personalist one, respectively
