EVALUATION OF ANTI-PYRETIC ACTION OF NELAMUCHCHALA (GYMNOSTACHYAM FEBRIFUGUM BENTH.)-AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY
Folklore medicine is an integral part of Ayurveda. Nelamuchchala (Gymnostachyam febrifugum Benth.) is one such drug which is traditionally used for fever, ulcers, cough, metrorrhagia and puerperal fever. The objective of the study is evaluation of the anti-pyretic actions in albino rats. The healthy albino rats are selected and grouped into 5. The control, standard, trial into three in different dosage forms i.e., normal dose (1ml), half dose (0.5ml). double dose (2ml) The decoction of Trial drug prepared and given in the different dosage forms. Pyrexia or Fever is induced by using Brewer's Yeast solution injected subcutaneously at thigh region and temperature rise after 1hr. Then hourly temperature recorded upto 14 hours. Result obtained from the study was statistically analysed that standard, trail group in normal (p<0.001) and double dose(p<0.001) are highly significant and no significant change was observed in control group (p>0.05) effect in albino rats. The present study has revealed that the decoction of Nelamuchchala (Gymnostachyam febrifugum Benth) efficacious to reduce pyrexia in albino rats. The observations could be considered to be the reference standards in future studies
Paediatric cataract: challenges and complications
Amblyopia should always be anticipated in children with unilateral cataract, asymmetrical bilateral cataracts (or where there is a delay between the first and second eye operation, or a delay of more than a year between diagnosis/ detection and surgery), cataracts with anisometropia or traumatic cataracts with corneal scars. When amblyopia is detected, occlusion therapy (eye patching) must be instituted at the earliest opportunity. The patching regimen is the same with any strabismic amblyopia and sometimes needs to be aggressive at the start. It is crucial to explain the need for patching to the parents, since compliance is the greatest obstacle to the success of amblyopia treatment
Mapping of beta catenin interactors using systems biology driven approach
The datasets includes the uniprot gene list of all the β-catenin interactors. Secondly, gene ontology annotations obtained by DAVID database were provided. The list of β-catenin interacting genes present in the cytoplasm, the nucleus and in both the components were listed out. Top 10 β-catenin interactors were provided along with their degree-Cytohubba score and the functional aspects of these top genes obtained from GeneMANIA data base were provided. All these datasets supports the original article.</p
