Possible errors in establishing the sample dimensions of survey investigations
Starting from the „rough” use of 1,500-1,800 subject samples in field researches with populations of the dimensions of a medium town, a capital or an entire country, which generates doubts and possible questions related to the representativeness of the investigated samples as well as to the conclusions of these researches, we developed the reconstruction of the necessary interactions in determining the sample volume, and also identified some inadvertencies. Some improvements solutions were also recommended.confidence interval, distribution laws, probable error, representativeness, sample volume.
A novel hovering type of fixed wing aircraft with stealth capability
The tactical need for fixed wing aircraft with hovering capably has long been recognized bythe military for two reasons: increased safety when landing on aircraft carriers and higher velocitiesthat the ones obtainable with rotary wing aircraft. Thus far, the only concept governing the field of vertical flight was to use thrust either from a liftfan-F35, puffer ducts –Harrier or smaller jet engines-D0 31 or Yak-141, i.e. direct lift thrust. In this paper we will look at the prospect of using a combination of the Coanda effect with theVenturi effect to generate lift by so- called “supercirculation”. This novel approach can yield manyadvantages to conventional vertical lifting by providing a more stable platform and requiring lowerpower settings – and thus lower fuel consumption. The aircraft has a fixed, negatively sweped wing that uses circulation control to achieve lift atzero air speed. The fluid used for supercirculation will come from the fan thrust reversers – which, ifcorrectly managed, can give a sufficient flow for lifting the craft and also a negative thrust componentto compensate for the positive thrust of the primary flow (not diverted)
The lack of uniformity of the deformations and the degree of deforming in case of orbital deformation
PARTICULARITIES REGARDING COMPUTER SEARCH AND FIELD RESEARCH FOR ONLINE CRIMES
The criminal investigation of a computer, also known as computer forensic, presentscertain specific aspects due on the one hand to the particularitiesof the computer and, on theother hand, to the volatile nature of the data that need to be preserved throughout the entireinvestigations
HACKING AND COMPUTER CRIMES COMPUTER FRAUD – A COMPARATIVE LOOK AT THE NEW CRIMINAL CODE AND THE CRIMINAL CODE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA
Hacking involves the attempt to compromise the security of a computer system in orderto gain unauthorized access. The EU Migration Crisis in Terms of Asylum Applications Received: A Cluster Analysis over the Period 2015-2018
This research sets out the importance of studying the refugee crisis and the phenomenon of migration, the way refugees reach European territory and in which states they aim to settle. The first part of the article shows the evolution of illegal entries on the routes that refugees use to enter the European continent in the period between 2009-2018. The second part of the article aims to highlight the European States which were affected by the refugee crisis in light of the asylum requests submitted by the applicants for international protection in the EU between 2015-2018. Therefore, the analysis led to the classification of the European States into four clusters: (i) states with a high number of asylum applications; (ii) states with a medium to high number of asylum applications; (iii) states with a small to medium number of asylum applications; (iv) states with a small number of asylum applications. The objective of this classification is to identify the states that were affected by the refugee crisis
Business Process Modeling in Higher Education Institutions. Developing a Framework for Total Quality Management at Institutional Level
AbstractThis article presents a stage of a quality management model in higher education institutions based on business process modelling. The paper points out the importance of graduates’ satisfaction in assessing quality in universities and looks at a key development, that have shaped the idea of correlating the graduates’ requirements regarding the developed specific and transversal competencies during the study with the required competences in the labor market. On the basis of the existing literature evidence and on the performed results, the paper proposes a business process management model by outlining the importance of understanding graduates’ requirements, their needs and expectations
KYChain: User-Controlled KYC Data Sharing and Certification
Under Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, financial institutions are
required to verify the identity and assess the trustworthiness of any new
client during on-boarding, and maintain up-to-date records for risk management.
These processes are time consuming, expensive, typically have sub-par
record-keeping steps, and disadvantage clients with nomad lifestyle. In this
paper, we introduce KYChain as a privacy-preserving certification mechanism
that allows users to share (certified) up-to-date KYC data across multiple
financial institutions. We base KYChain on immutable ledgers and show that it
offers confidentiality and certification compliance of KYC data
COST GENERATED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC
The study aims to analyse the evolution of costs generated by domestic violence during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Romanian space. The cost generated by violence is not well highlighted in Romania's budgets, however there are methods that may be used to quantify it. In our country, studies focused more on the analysis of the dimension of domestic violence, and less on the analysis of the costs generated by this phenomenon. However, an analysis of these costs was carried out in 2014 by the European Institute for Gender Equality, which estimated the costs of gender-based violence in the European Union. For this study I will use administrative data at the national level, which come from local entities with responsibilities in preventing and combating domestic violence. The study I propose will be an analysis of secondary data provided by the authorities, but will also contain comparative methods (compared to 2020, the year of the Covid-19 pandemic). The results will describe the evolution of the costs generated by domestic violence during the pandemic
