    Applications of Hilbert Module Approach to Multivariable Operator Theory

    A commuting nn-tuple (T1,…,Tn)(T_1, \ldots, T_n) of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space \clh associate a Hilbert module H\mathcal{H} over C[z1,…,zn]\mathbb{C}[z_1, \ldots, z_n] in the following sense: C[z1,…,zn]×H→H,(p,h)↦p(T1,…,Tn)h,\mathbb{C}[z_1, \ldots, z_n] \times \mathcal{H} \rightarrow \mathcal{H}, \quad \quad (p, h) \mapsto p(T_1, \ldots, T_n)h,where p∈C[z1,…,zn]p \in \mathbb{C}[z_1, \ldots, z_n] and h∈Hh \in \mathcal{H}. A companion survey provides an introduction to the theory of Hilbert modules and some (Hilbert) module point of view to multivariable operator theory. The purpose of this survey is to emphasize algebraic and geometric aspects of Hilbert module approach to operator theory and to survey several applications of the theory of Hilbert modules in multivariable operator theory. The topics which are studied include: generalized canonical models and Cowen-Douglas class, dilations and factorization of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, a class of simple submodules and quotient modules of the Hardy modules over polydisc, commutant lifting theorem, similarity and free Hilbert modules, left invertible multipliers, inner resolutions, essentially normal Hilbert modules, localizations of free resolutions and rigidity phenomenon.     High yield fusion in a Staged Z-pinch

    We simulate fusion in a Z-pinch; where the load is a xenon-plasma liner imploding onto a deuterium-tritium plasma target and the driver is a 2 MJ, 17 MA, 95 ns risetime pulser. The implosion system is modeled using the dynamic, 2-1/2 D, radiation-MHD code, MACH2. During implosion a shock forms in the Xe liner, transporting current and energy radially inward. After collision with the DT, a secondary shock forms pre-heating the DT to several hundred eV. Adiabatic compression leads subsequently to a fusion burn, as the target is surrounded by a flux-compressed, intense, azimuthal-magnetic field. The intense-magnetic field confines fusion α\alpha-particles, providing an additional source of ion heating that leads to target ignition. The target remains stable up to the time of ignition. Predictions are for a neutron yield of 3.0×10193.0\times 10^{19} and a thermonuclear energy of 84 MJ, that is, 42 times greater than the initial, capacitor-stored energy

    Constrained Dynamics of an Anomalous (g/neq2)(g/neq 2) Relativistic Spinning Particle in Electromagnetic Background

    In this paper we have considered the dynamics of an anomalous (g≠2g\neq 2) charged relativistic spinning particle in the presence of an external electromagnetic field. The constraint analysis is done and the complete set of Dirac brackets are provided that generate the canonical Lorentz algebra and dynamics through Hamiltonian equations of motion.
