    A Novel Method to Improve the Resolution of Envelope Spectrum for Bearing Fault Diagnosis Based on a Wireless Sensor Node

    In this paper, an accurate envelope analysis algorithm is developed for a wireless sensor node. Since envelope signals employed in condition monitoring often have narrow frequency bandwidth, the proposed algorithm down-samples and cascades the analyzed envelope signals to construct a relatively long one. Thus, a relatively higher frequency resolution can be obtained by calculating the spectrum of the cascaded signal. In addition, a 50 % overlapping scheme is applied to avoid the distortions caused by Hilbert transform based envelope calculation. The proposed method is implemented on a wireless sensor node and tested successfully for detecting an outer race fault of a rolling bearing. The results show that the frequency resolution of the envelope spectrum is improved by 8 times while the data transmission remains at a low rate

    A novel tread model for tire modelling using experimental modal parameters

    Modal parameter model acts as an analytical model of tire, because it can represent the entire tire characteristics, when applied to the tire modelling. However, without considering the effect of transfer characteristics of adjacent tread spring elements, the accuracy of modal parameter model may be limited in previous studies. Based on contact mechanics and the modal parameter model, a novel tread model is proposed considering tread transfer characteristics, and then a modified model using the modal parameters was obtained using the novel tread model. The effects of tire external characteristics were analyzed by modifying the modal parameter static vertical model. Finally, the experimental and calculated data were compared, the proposed tread model improved the accuracy of calculation. The results show that the tread transfer characteristics significantly affect contact length, i.e., by improving the predictive accuracy by 50 %, and the effect on improving the squat of tire can be ignored. The developed model may help to optimize tire modelling

    Routing Optimization of Intelligent Vehicle in Automated Warehouse

    Routing optimization is a key technology in the intelligent warehouse logistics. In order to get an optimal route for warehouse intelligent vehicle, routing optimization in complex global dynamic environment is studied. A new evolutionary ant colony algorithm based on RFID and knowledge-refinement is proposed. The new algorithm gets environmental information timely through the RFID technology and updates the environment map at the same time. It adopts elite ant kept, fallback, and pheromones limitation adjustment strategy. The current optimal route in population space is optimized based on experiential knowledge. The experimental results show that the new algorithm has higher convergence speed and can jump out the U-type or V-type obstacle traps easily. It can also find the global optimal route or approximate optimal one with higher probability in the complex dynamic environment. The new algorithm is proved feasible and effective by simulation results

    The universal "heartbeat" oscillations in black hole systems accross the mass-scale

    The hyperluminous X-ray source (HLX-1, the peak X-ray luminosity 1042erg s1\sim 10^{42}\rm erg\ s^{-1}) near the spiral galaxy ESO 243-49 is possibly the best candidate for intermediate mass black hole (IMBH), which underwent recurrent outbursts with a period of 400\sim 400 days. The physical reason for this quasi-periodic variability is still unclear. We explore the possibility of radiation-pressure instability in accretion disk by modeling the light curve of HLX-1, and find that it can roughly reproduce the duration, period and amplitude of the recurrent outbursts HLX-1 with an IMBH of ~10^5Msun. Our result provides a possible mechanism to explain the recurrent outbursts in HLX-1. We further find a universal correlation between the outburst duration and the bolometric luminosity for the BH sources with a very broad mass range (e.g., X-ray binaries, XRBs, HLX-1 and active galactic nuclei, AGNs), which is roughly consistent with the prediction of radiation-pressure instability of the accretion disk. These results imply that "heartbeat" oscillations triggered by radiation-pressure instability may appears in different-scale BH systems.Comment: ApJ in press; 15 pages, 5 Figure

    Inhibition of Arterial Allograft Intimal Hyperplasia Using Recipient Dendritic Cells Pretreated with B7 Antisense Peptide

    Background. Low expression or absence of dendritic cell (DC) surface B7 molecules can induce immune tolerance or hyporesponse. Whether DCs could induce indirect allogeneic-specific cross-tolerance or hyporesponse to recipient T cells remains unclear. Methods. Generated from C3H/He mice bone marrow cells pulsed with donor antigen from C57BL/6 mice, recipient DCs were incubated with B7 antisense peptide (B7AP). Immune regulatory activities were examined in vitro by a series of mixed lymphocyte reactions. Murine allogeneic carotid artery orthotopic transplantation was performed from C57BL/6 to C3H/He. Recipients were given B7AP-treated DCs 7 days before transplantation. Allograft pathological analysis was done 2 months after transplantation. Results. B7AP-pretreated DCs markedly inhibited T-cell proliferation compared with untreated group. Pretreated T cells exhibited markedly reduced response to alloantigen versus third-party antigen. Pathological analysis of arterial allografts demonstrated significant reduction of intimal hyperplasia in B7-AP pretreated group versus control. Conclusion. Blockade of B7 molecules by B7AP could induce indirect allogeneic-specific hyporesponse and inhibit arterial allograft intimal hyperplasia, which may be involved in future strategies for human allograft chronic rejection

    The Attenuation of Moutan Cortex on Oxidative Stress for Renal Injury in AGEs-Induced Mesangial Cell Dysfunction and Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Nephropathy Rats

    Oxidative stress (OS) has been regarded as one of the major pathogeneses of diabetic nephropathy (DN) through damaging kidney which is associated with renal cells dysfunction. The aim of this study was to investigate whether Moutan Cortex (MC) could protect kidney function against oxidative stress in vitro or in vivo. The compounds in MC extract were analyzed by HPLC-ESI-MS. High-glucose-fat diet and STZ (30 mg kg−1) were used to induce DN rats model, while 200 μg mL−1 AGEs were for HBZY-1 mesangial cell damage. The treatment with MC could significantly increase the activity of SOD, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX), and catalase (CAT). However, lipid peroxidation malondialdehyde (MDA) was reduced markedly in vitro or in vivo. Furthermore, MC decreased markedly the levels of blood glucose, serum creatinine, and urine protein in DN rats. Immunohistochemical assay showed that MC downregulated significantly transforming growth factor beta 2 (TGF-β2) protein expression in renal tissue. Our data provided evidence to support this fact that MC attenuated OS in AGEs-induced mesangial cell dysfunction and also in high-glucose-fat diet and STZ-induced DN rats

    Effectiveness of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios in predicting the incidence of nausea and vomiting after total knee arthroplasty in patients with hemophilia A

    ObjectiveTo investigate the ability of preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) to predict postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).MethodsThe clinical data of 108 male patients with hemophilia A who underwent TKA an our institution were collected and analyzed. Confounding factors were adjusted by propensity score matching. The best cutoffs of the NLR and PLR were determined by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). The predictive ability of these indexes was assessed by measuring the sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative likelihood ratios.ResultsThere were significant differences in the use of antiemetics (p = 0.036) and the incidence of nausea (p < 0.001) and vomiting (p = 0.006) between the two groups (NLR <2 and ≥2). An increase in preoperative NLR was an independent risk factor for PONV in patients with hemophilia A (p < 0.05). ROC analysis showed that NLR significantly predicted the occurrence of PONV (cutoff value: 2.20, ROC: 0.711, p < 0.001). In turn, the PLR did not strongly predict PONV.ConclusionsThe NLR is an independent risk factor for PONV in patients with hemophilia A and can significantly predict this event. Thus, follow-up monitoring is essential for these patients
