A review of the genus Megalographa Lafontaine and Poole (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Plusiinae) with the description of a new species from Costa Rica
The classification of the genus Megalographa Lafontaine and Poole, 1991, is reviewed and the five known species diagnosed. The genus is essentially restricted to the New World, although one species M. biloba (Stephens) is migratory and has occasionally straggled to western Europe. A new species (Megalographa talamanca Lafontaine and Sullivan) endemic to the Talamanca Mountain Range in Costa Rica is described. Adults and genitalia are illustrated

Evaluation and Testing of Color Strength Measuring Methods in the Graphic Arts
The term color strength is defined as the hue, saturation, and brightness of an ink in the C.I.E. scheme of color specification. With this definition two color strength measuring methods are evaluated on a common basis. A colorimeter is used to read samples produced with varied ink-film thicknesses and varied ratios of white pigment to sample ink. Colorimetric properties are plotted on a U.C.S. diagram with coordinates modified to include the C.I.E. brightness factor W*. The ink-film thickness method is chosen as the preferred method for determining color strength
Working with older drinkers
Findings presented in this report demonstrate that older drinkers have different stressors, precipitating factors and risk factors for relapse than younger drinkers. They also face a number of unique barriers to treatment and are more likely to remain ‘hidden’ from services. Despite these challenges, age-specific practices required to meet the needs of older people and draw them into treatment are poorly understood.
The purpose of this project was to develop guidelines on what strategies and treatment approaches are likely to work best with older drinkers based on synthesis of relevant literature, insight from alcohol practitioners who specialise in working with older people and the perspectives of older people receiving alcohol treatment. A set of concise guidance documents will be prepared for health and social care workers and alcohol service providers in due course
Excise Taxes, Consumer Demand, Over-Shifting, and Tax Revenue
This paper examines over-shifting in excise taxes, using the constant elasticity
demand function under monopolistic competition. We apply the solution for price
from this model to previous studies to obtain estimated price elasticities of demand.
We also derive the excise tax, which maximizes tax revenue under this formulation,
resulting in a revenue-maximizing tax-price ratio based upon the price elasticity. The
model is applied to some previous experience regarding excise tax increases for
alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. Our study offers structural insights behind
empirical research that finds over-shifting. The model can also be used to help
construct excise tax policy
IUE archived spectra
The International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE) Satellite has been in continuous operation since January 26, 1978. To date, approximately 65,000 spectra have been stored in an archive at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. A number of procedures have been generated to facilitate access to the data in the IUE spectral archive. This document describes the procedures which include on-line quick look of the displays, search of an observation data base for selected observations, and several methods for ordering data from the archive
Introduction
On August 19, 1994, the sponsorship of this Law School was transferred from the University of Puget Sound to a new parent institution, Seattle University, and the school became the Seattle University School of Law. It is now our great pleasure to welcome all past subscribers and supporters to the first issue of the Seattle University Law Review. Seattle University brings to the Law School the tradition of excellence of the Jesuit-sponsored universities and their law schools throughout the nation. From Fordham and Georgetown to Santa Clara and the Loyolas, these law schools have attained uniform reputations of quality and national prominence. Under its new sponsorship, the Seattle University School of Law will maintain the fine teaching and scholarly faculty, and the model clinical and legal writing programs that have brought it accolades in the past. The new partnership with Seattle University provides institutional support and opportunities for our law programs to flourish and to mesh with the other interdisciplinary activities and graduate programs of Seattle University. This merger of a thriving law school with an established and respected full service university is unprecedented, and is full of promise for both institutions. The Law Review will maintain its fine tradition of offering a balance of Symposia Issues, Articles, Notes and Comments that are timely and relevant for readers in both the northwest and the national legal community. We shall appreciate your continued support of the Seattle University Law Review and we promise you a publication that will be of continued and expanded service
