Admission Primary health care is the first level of a professional medical service, to which patients with their ailments and health problems apply. Access to basic health care services should be free from any physical, organizational and financial barriers due to the willingness to use the services of various patients. Objective of the work The aim of the work was to get to know the expectations of women regarding the medical care provided in the gynaecological clinic. In order to achieve the research objective, the issues concerning, among other things, the level of satisfaction of women with the functioning and offering of medical services in the gynecological clinic as well as the expectations of women during visits to the gynecological clinic were chosen. Material and methods The research was based on the method of a diagnostic survey using a standardized questionnaire, which was addressed to women using gynecological outpatient services. Results The research shows that the most frequent respondents visited the gynecologist once every three years, (49.33%, n = 74). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between the professional activity of the surveyed women and the frequency of visits to the gynecologist (p = 0.004). The study showed that most often during the visit to the gynecological clinic, the respondents expected: gynecological examination (93.33%), cytological examination (83.33%) and breast examination (69.33%). Conclusions Expectations of women during a visit to the gynecological clinic concern primarily the obtaining of information on research and treatment. Women using the gynecological clinic are satisfied with the offered medical services and the way the clinic operates. Women aged 30-41 with higher education are significantly more satisfied with the gynecological clinic than women under 30 and over 40 years of age and with basic or vocational and married education

Introducion. In the nurse profession, contact with another person plays a very important role. In the work environment of nurses there are many factors that are a source of stress, are an increasingly serious problem for working nurses and affect the level of mental and physical exhaustion. Aim. Determination of the level of mental exhaustion and physical exhaustion of nurses working at the Neurology Departments. Material and Methods. The research was conducted among 110 respondents, nurses working at the Neurology Departments in hospitals in the city of Lublin. In the research, the method of the diagnostic survey was used, using the author's questionnaire and the "Japanese Questionnaire". Results. The lowest level of fatigue occurred in people working in an eight-hour one-shift system (p = 0.049). The lowest WCWOZ (the incidence rate of fatigue symptoms) was reported in non-child victims (64.0 ± 65.4). The number of children in family has a statistically significant effect on fatigue (p = 0.034). The vast majority of respondents (86.4%) considered that the nursing staff was insufficient. The number of hours worked per month significantly determined the assessment of the nursing staff (p = 0.007). People employed in Neurology Departments under 5 years rated significantly better chances for promotion (p = 0.012) and had higher ambitions to acquire new professional qualifications (p = 0.00003). Conclusions. Physical and mental exhaustion of working nurses on the examined Neurological Wards is very high. Nurses are much more often tired compared to the surveyed nurses and the younger staff with a much lower WCWOZ. Working in more than one place results in an increase in general fatigue Key words. nurses, work overload, occupational burnout, fatigu

Admission: The primary method of treatment more frequently occurring breast cancer is surgery. The occurrence of secondary lymphedema and other symptoms of upper limb can reduce the efficiency of the patient causing hindering her daily life and functioning. The goal of the work It is to present a range of restrictions on daily functioning in patients surgically treated for breast cancer associated with the changes occurring in the limb on the side of the operated breast, Material and methods: The material consisted of 151 women treated surgically for breast cancer (T1-4 N0-3 M0) in the Oncology Center of the Lublin Region St. John of Dukla in Lublin in 2013-2015. Secondary lymphedema after 6 months occurred in 19.2% of patients. Results: Difficulties functioning in daily life due to limitations arising after surgery upper limb occurred in half of the respondents. Limiting the strength of the limb that hinders daily caring activities occurred in 4% of all subjects and making home work difficult at 40%. Reducing the precision movements of the limbs impeding daily activities nursing occurred in 13% of patients and impeding the exercise of precise steps in 9%. Conclusions: 1. The frequency present difficulties in the daily operation applied to the anticancer treatment is high. 2. The frequency present difficulties in daily functioning is higher in subjects treated with more invasive surgical treatment. 3. The presence of the secondary lymphedema patients experience difficulties with daily activities, especially precise

Materiały i metody W pracy zastosowano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, w jej obrębie technikę ankiety, zaś jako narzędzie badawcze – kwestionariusz ankiety własnego autorstwa. Większość chorych z nadciśnieniem tętniczym prozdrowotny tryb życia kojarzy z prawidłowym żywieniem, unikaniem alkoholu, paleniem tytoniu, brakiem stresu i racjonalnym odpoczynkiem. Słowa kluczowe: nadciśnienie tętnicze, styl życia, profilaktyka Admission Epidemiological studies show that cardiovascular diseases are at the forefront of diseases affecting Polish society. Despite advances in modern medicine, every second person experiences acute or chronic cardiovascular complications. Purpose of research The purpose of this study was to assess patients' knowledge of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension. Materials and methods The paper used the method of the diagnostic survey, within the framework of the survey technique, and as a research tool - questionnaire survey of its own author. The survey was conducted June - August 2015 in the Independent Public Health Care Team in Włodawa. 60 people participated in the study. The group was divided - 30 people with hypertension and 30 people who are not sick or healthy people. Conclusions In the study group, the level of knowledge about the factors influencing the occurrence of hypertension is high both among the sick and the healthy. Most patients with hypertension have a healthy lifestyle associated with proper nutrition, alcohol avoidance, smoking, lack of stress and rational rest. Among prevention activities, both the sick and the sick proposed similar treatment. Discussion Patient knowledge about hypertension and its effects can affect the effectiveness of treatment. Medical education should be of paramount importance for medical staff, with particular attention to the self-control of blood pressure by patients. In summary, it is important to note that due to the high risk of complications, both treatment and prevention of hypertension are important. Key words: hypertension, lifestyle, preventio

Background: Cervical cancer constitutes one of the main global-scale oncological problems, also observed among Polish women. Young women and men should be aware of risk factors and early symptoms, and understand and accept the significance of participation in the secondary prevention of this type of neoplasm. Objective: To assess the level of knowledge of students attending selected higher education institutions in Lublin on cervical cancer.Material and methods: Questionnaire surveys were carried out on a group of 360 students of the Medical University of Lublin (UM) (n=119), the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (UP) (n=122) and the Lublin University of Technology (PL) (n=119). Sample selection was purposive. The respondents' average age was 21.8±1.4 years. A self-designed questionnaire was the research tool. Results: Sexual contact with a person infected with HPV was indicated as a cervical cancer risk factor by 97% of UM students, 74% of UP students and 79% of PL students. PL students less often than UM and UP students were aware of the negative effects of cervical cancer risk factors. The highest level of knowledge on cervical cancer was presented by UM students, a medium level of knowledge – by UP students, and the lowest – by PL students. Students of technical and life sciences universities diminished the harmfulness of risk factors or considered them neutral more often than UM students. PL students the least often accurately selected the symptoms of cervical cancer from the prepared list. Only 41% of UP students and 33% of PL students were able to accurately identify the age ranges of women covered by the prevention programme for the early detection of cervical cancer. Conclusions:The highest level of knowledge on prevention was presented by Medical University students, and the lowest by the students of the University of Technology. The higher education institution's profile is a statistically significant determinant of the students' level of knowledge.Especially female students of life sciences and technical universities require education on regular cervical cytology tests

Zachowania zdrowotne pacjentów z chorobą niedokrwienną serca Health behavior of patients with ischemic heart disease Paweł Węgorowski1 , Joanna Michalik1 , Rafał Zarzeczny2 , Renata Domżał–Drzewicka1, Grzegorz Nowicki1 1 Katedra Onkologii i Środowiskowej Opieki Zdrowotnej, Wydział Nauk o Zdrowiu, Uniwersytet Medyczny w Lublinie 2 Samodzielny Publiczny Zakład Opieki Zdrowotnej w Łęcznej, Oddział Anestezjologii i Intensywnej Terapii Autor do korespondencji: Joanna Michalik [email protected] Tel. 600 065 151 Wstęp Analizując dostępną literaturę naukowa można zdefiniować chorobę niedokrwienną serca jako zespół objawów chorobowych będących konsekwencją przewlekłego stanu zaburzenia równowagi pomiędzy możliwościami zaopatrzenia w substancje odżywcze i tlen a realnym zapotrzebowaniem komórek mięśnia sercowego na te właśnie substancje. Admission By analyzing the available scientific literature, it is possible to define ischemic heart disease as a set of disease symptoms that are a consequence of a chronic state of imbalance between the ability to supply nutrients and oxygen and the real need of myocardial cells for these substances. Adapting life-style behaviors to healthy living is a priority to prevent the onset and development of cardiovascular disease, especially ischemic heart disease, Purpose of research The aim of the study is to determine the health behavior of patients with ischemic heart disease. Materials and methods The study was conducted from 01.08.2015 to 28.12.2015 in a group of 35 people (15 women and 20 men). The research method used in the work is a diagnostic survey, the research technique used was a survey of its own author. Conclusions By analyzing the data collected, it is important to note that patients with coronary heart disease are often associated with health problems such as hypertension, diabetes and abnormal weight. The nutritional habits of the subjects studied can be described as abnormal, particularly the excessive intake of oily meat and too little fish intake. It has also been observed that most of the patients studied have familial predisposition to ischemic heart disease. Discussion Heart attacks occur mostly in people with obesity, diabetes and atherosclerosis. It is also closely related to ischemic heart disease. The health behaviors of patients suffering from Ischemic Heart Disease are moderately satisfactory and therefore the role of a nurse practitioner as a health educator is very difficult but essential in the prevention of ischemic heart disease.
