GNA: new framework for statistical data analysis

We report on the status of GNA --- a new framework for fitting large-scale physical models. GNA utilizes the data flow concept within which a model is represented by a directed acyclic graph. Each node is an operation on an array (matrix multiplication, derivative or cross section calculation, etc). The framework enables the user to create flexible and efficient large-scale lazily evaluated models, handle large numbers of parameters, propagate parameters' uncertainties while taking into account possible correlations between them, fit models, and perform statistical analysis. The main goal of the paper is to give an overview of the main concepts and methods as well as reasons behind their design. Detailed technical information is to be published in further works.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, CHEP 2018, submitted to EPJ Web of Conference

Arsenic in Chemical and Metallurgical Conversions of Copper-zinc Concentrates

    Get PDF
Due to the deterioration of the quality of obtained sulfide-copper concentrates, arsenic circulates and accumulates in the intermediate products, which reduces the quality of the metal and associated product – sulfuric acid. A method of estimation the distribution of impurity elements can be created using the recycling of sulfide concentrates by various technologies (including autogenous smelting, matte conversion and flotation of slags). This technique is based on solving balance equations for iron, copper and arsenic with known compositions of the resulting products. The obtained data were used to assess of the extraction of arsenic into produce outputs (slag, matte, dust, etc.). In this study, the concentration of arsenic in the dust of metallurgical processes and sludge for cleaning acid solutions is confirmed. The increased temperature in the electrostatic precipitator of gas purification of autogenous processes lead to a partial transition of arsenic into the gas stream directed to the sulfuric acid production. It is possible to regulate the fraction of transition of arsenic to dust and sulfuric acid while changing the operating temperature in the electrostatic precipitator. To a lesser extent arsenic is concentrated in the tails of flotation of slag (11.7%) and metallic copper (2.9%). These data are useful for substantiating measures for the wastes recycling and improvement of the ecological environment in the enterprise operating districts. Keywords: arsenic, autogenous melting, matte conversion, slag flotation, purified gas treatment, distribution, dust, sludg

Potential possibilities of application of new types of high-speed vessels in the tourist sphere of the Black Sea aria

The paper deals with some issues related to the study of the potential use of new types of high-speed passenger ships for the organization of maritime passenger traffic between the ports of the Black Sea. In addition, a project was proposed for organizing excursion passenger lines between the Black Sea and Mediterranean ports, as well as tours along the coastline. Recently, special attention has been paid to the development of sea tourism in the Black Sea. However, for the organization of this type of tourist activity, it is important to understand the possibilities of using special types of marine passenger ships developed by domestic designers. The implementation of design ideas in the very near future will make it possible to organize highly efficient maritime liner and cruise communications on the Black Sea

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the centralized system of organizing tourism, excursion activities, hotel services, coastal sea passenger traffic ceased to exist. The company "Yalta Travel and Excursion Bureau",which organized excursions around the Crimea at the highest level, and also trained qualified guides, was closed. With the collapse of the all-Union system "Intourist", the training of highly qualified personnel of guide-interpreters with professional knowledge of foreign languages has practically ceased. The Yalta commercial seaport has practically lost the function of the main organizer of sea coastal and intercity passenger transportation (until 1991, about 40 passenger boats of the port operated during summer navigation. In the past, in 2020, there were only three ships). Private companies began to enter the market, which in the process of conquering market segments and competition have lost many achievements in tourism and excursion activities (including maritime ones). Today, many coastal passenger excursion routes are forgotten. Nevertheless, today's opportunities for organizing sea travel have significant potential

Information technology and digital economy present new opportunities for all sectors of the economy, including transport. Today, transport economics is undergoing fundamental changes as a result of the rapid development of information technology and its use is also very fast. Especially the dynamics of the development of informatics and its products and transport business development opportunities based on the use of Internet technology have enabled the growth of the role and importance of using information technology in business processes in terms of the new economy or digital economy. The world economy has changed due to the great development and application of this technology. Transport enterprises are forced to survive in a modern economy where the global market is characterized by competition, diversity of products and services and short cycle life of the product. In terms of the digital economy, information technology creates opportunities for specialization and cooperation between transport companies from different regions by reducing transaction costs, creating ease of access to foreign markets and facilitating the development of new models of electronic business. The purpose of this paper is to present the importance of information technology in economy of transport industry, computerization trends and the opportunities offered by this technology where consumers have quick and easy access on the global market of transport service, as well as in information about goods and services. In the condition of digital economy, the usage of information technology provide businesses with new opportunities to access global markets and also develop business activities on-line. The full realization of these potentials is essential for new transport enterprises and companies which can compete and create competitive advantage globally
