Numerical modeling of water-vapor transport during pre-storm and COHMEX
Initial conditions are designed for numerical simulation of mesocale processes in the atmosphere using the Limited Area Mesoscale Prediction System (LAMPS) model. These initial conditions represent an idealized baroclinic wave in which the transport of water vapor can be simulated. The constructed atmosphere has two homogeneous air masses, polar front, polar jet stream and a stratosphere. All these simulate the basic structure of the earth's atmosphere. The hydrostatic and geostrophic balances make it possible to evaluate mutually consistent fields of wind and of the height of isobaric surfaces
Observational and numerical studies of the low-level jet stream in the atmosphere
Two cases of low-level jet (LLJ) support the hypothesis that the LLJ is an integral part of synoptic-scale cyclogenesis. The appearance of an arch with a row of cumulonimbus is discovered at the front of the LLJ. The inertia oscillations in the LLJ are pointed out as part of the quasi-diurnal variation. A plan for further research by numerical modelling is proposed, which will bring more clarification of the mechanics of the LLJ
Elastic and Diffractive Scattering after AdS/CFT
At high energies, elastic hadronic cross sections are believed to be
dominated by vacuum exchange. In leading order of the leading expansion
this exchange process has been identified as the BFKL {\em Pomeron} or its
strong AdS dual the closed string graviton \cite{Brower:2006ea}. However
difference of particle anti-particle cross sections are given by a so-called
{\em Odderon} carrying C = -1 quantum numbers identified in weak coupling with
odd numbers of exchanged gluons. Here we show that the dual description
associates this with the Neveu-Schwartz () sector of closed string
theory. We also discuss the extension of the strong coupling treatment to
central diffractive Higgs production at LHC.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures; presented at International Conference on Elastic

Shot noise in resonant tunneling through an interacting quantum dot with intradot spin-flip scattering
In this paper, we present theoretical investigation of the zero-frequency
shot noise spectra in electron tunneling through an interacting quantum dot
connected to two ferromagnetic leads with possibility of spin-flip scattering
between the two spin states by means of the recently developed bias-voltage and
temperature dependent quantum rate equations. For this purpose, a
generalization of the traditional generation-recombination approach is made for
properly taking into account the coherent superposition of electronic states,
i.e., the nondiagonal density matrix elements. Our numerical calculations find
that the Fano factor increases with increasing the polarization of the two
leads, but decreases with increasing the intradot spin-flip scattering.Comment: Some typos correction. 6 pages, 3 figures, based on work presented at

Possibility of Dynamic Penetrometer Use in Clayey Sandy Soil on Railway Route Zenica- Sarajevo
Application of dynamic penetration is not widely spread, considering the limited number of data that can be obtained. When а larger number of boreholes on terrains built of soft rocks is required, there exists economic justification for the use of certain dynamic tests that can give data about resistance and soil density. Also, in parts where the access is difficult or impossible for the machines for soil probing, penetrometer tests are only possible for obtaining certain parameters. Correlation between point of resistance and shear strength can obtain data of undrained firmness shear strengths for clayey soils, and based on the value of point of resistance the percentage of compaction of soil with quite real accuracy. The dynamic penetration test was applied along the route of the Zenica-Sarajevo railway. Since this is a rarely used type of research, the authors hope that this paper will serve to others as well, towards further research on better correlations between the two types of methods. It is necessary to make the method with penetration as applicable as possible, because it can be used in very inaccessible places with many more test points and does not require large financial investments
