Hyaluronic Acid Scaffolds for Loco-Regional Therapy in Nervous System Related Disorders
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a Glycosaminoglycan made of disaccharide units containing N-acetyl-D-glucosamine and glucuronic acid. Its molecular mass can reach 10 MDa and its physiological properties depend on its polymeric property, polyelectrolyte feature and viscous nature. HA is a ubiquitous compound found in almost all biological tissues and fluids. So far, HA grades are produced by biotechnology processes, while in the human organism it is a major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM) in brain tissue, synovial fluid, vitreous humor, cartilage and skin. Indeed, HA is capable of forming hydrogels, polymer crosslinked networks that are very hygroscopic. Based on these considerations, we propose an overview of HA-based scaffolds developed for brain cancer treatment, central and peripheral nervous systems, discuss their relevance and identify the most successful developed systems
Uncertainty in context-aware systems: A case study for intelligent environments
Data used be context-aware systems is naturally incomplete and not always reflect real situations. The dynamic nature of intelligent environments leads to the need of analysing and handling uncertain information. Users can change their acting patterns within a short space of time. This paper presents a case study for a better understanding of concepts related to context awareness and the problem of dealing with inaccurate data. Through the analysis of identification of elements that results in the construction of unreliable contexts, it is aimed to identify patterns to minimize incompleteness. Thus, it will be possible to deal with flaws caused by undesired execution of applications.Programa Operacional Temático Factores de Competitividade (POCI-01-0145-
Do About Half the Top Quarks at FNAL Come From Gluino Decays?
We argue that it is possible to make a consistent picture of FNAL data
including the production and decay of gluinos and squarks. The additional cross
section is several pb, about the size of that for Standard Model (SM) top quark
pair production. If the stop squark mass is small enough, about half of the top
quarks decay to stop squarks, and the loss of SM top quark pair production rate
is compensated by the supersymmetric processes. This behavior is consistent
with the reported top quark decay rates in various modes and other aspects of
the data, and suggests several other possible decay signatures. This picture
can be tested easily with more data, perhaps even with the data in hand, and
demonstrates the potential power of a hadron collider to determine
supersymmetric parameters. It also has implications for the top mass
measurement and the interpretation of the LEP excess.Comment: 18 pages, including 4 Postscript figures, uses epsf.tex, also

An approach to the study of the thermally driven deconfinement phase transition in a finite volume through the order parameter, its derivatives, and cumulants of the probability distribution
We describe the temperature driven deconfining phase transition between hadronic and quark–gluon plasma (QGP) phases coexisting in a finite volume by means of a probability distribution using a simple thermodynamic model. The equations of state of both phases are calculated, where the colour singletness requirement is considered for the QGP phase with massless up and down quarks. We emphasize in this work the probability distribution and try to deeply analyze it to extract information about the transition. Also, the mean values of some response functions, which are mainly the order parameter, its three first thermal derivatives, and the second, third, and fourth cumulants of the probability distribution, are calculated and their behavior with temperature at vanishing chemical potential and at different volumes is examined. The striking result is the large similarity noted between the behavior of the order parameter derivatives and that of their homologous cumulants of the probability density. This similarity is worked out, and particularly the linearity between the thermal susceptibility and the variance is probed. The accepted manuscript in pdf format is listed with the files at the bottom of this page. THE FELINE LEISHMANIOSE IN THE REGION OF ALGIERS
An investigation led to the municipal pound of Algiers, watch that 36% of the 50 tried roaming cats are positive to the F tests.L.G and Witness®. Leishmaniens is the total strength, 50% of the males and 20% of the females. She/it especially affects the cats of 1 to 2 years. Finally, the ulceration is the predominant and reminiscent lesion of the feline leishmaniose. Henceforth, the cat must be considered like a potential reservoir of Leishmania infantum in Algeria. D '' other studies are necessary to specify the prévalence and, the techniques of choice of the diagnosis
Going into COP26 and getting it right: Forests, agriculture, ecosystems and nature for climate change mitigation and adaptation
Forests, trees and the transformation of agriculture remain a proven mitigation and adaptation pathway, which must receive substantially more support in terms of funding and capacity development. Protecting and restoring habitats is a powerful way to boost resilience to the impacts of climate change
