This article aims to review and evaluate the effectiveness of protection programs implemented in prisons for pregnant women in detention. In this context, we analyze aspects of physical and mental health, legal and reproductive rights, and alternatives available to pregnant women in prison. The evaluation is based on empirical data obtained through field studies, interviews with prison officials, and a review of existing policies. The results reveal the challenges faced by pregnant women in the prison system and provide a basis for improving more effective and human rights-oriented protection programs

Does combined posterior cruciate ligament and posterolateral corner reconstruction for chronic posterior and posterolateral instability restore normal knee function?

SummaryIntroductionPosterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injuries are frequently associated with posterolateral corner (PLC) damages. These complex lesions are most often poorly tolerated clinically. Adherence to sound biomechanical principles treating these complex lesions entails obtaining a functional PCL and reconstructing sufficient posterolateral stability.HypothesisSurgical treatment of postero-posterolateral laxity (PPLL) re-establishes sufficient anatomical integrity to provide stability and satisfactory knee function.Material and methodsIn this retrospective, continuous, single-operator study, 21 patients were operated for chronic PPLL with combined reconstruction of the PCL and PLC and were reviewed with a minimum 1 year follow-up. The clinical and subjective outcomes were evaluated using the IKDC score. Surgical correction of posterior laxity was quantified clinically and radiologically on dynamic posterior drawer images (posterior Telos™ stress test and hamstrings contraction lateral view).ResultsThe mean subjective IKDC score was 62.8 at the last follow-up versus a preoperative score of 54.5 (NS). Preoperatively, all were classified in groups C and D. Postoperatively, 13 patients out of 21 were classified in groups A and B according to the overall clinical IKDC score. The radiological gain in laxity was 51% on the hamstring contraction films and 67% on the posterior Telos™ images (p<0.05).DiscussionThe objective of surgical treatment is to re-establish anatomical integrity to the greatest possible extent. The clinical and radiological laxity results are disappointing in terms of the objectives but are in agreement with the literature. The subjective evaluation demonstrated that this operation can provide sufficient function for standard daily activities but not sports activities.Level of evidenceLevel IV retrospective study

De telles difficultés tiennent au déficit de sens du message européen envoyé par les institutions communautaires, à l’absence d’un message fédérateur, aux préoccupations strictement nationales des dirigeants politiques et à la coïncidence entre la signature du Traité de Rome et l’existence de moyens de communication considérés comme « unilatéraux ». On a lutté tout au long des siècles pour régulariser le métier de Traducteur Assermenté, qui possède de nos jours un caractère spécial. Ce caractère spécial est marqué par la difficulté du processus d’accès au poste de traducteur et par sa capacité extraordinaire pour donner la « validité légale » à une traduction. Donc, il est nécessaire de ne pas confondre la spécialisation du Traducteur Assermenté avec celles des traducteurs juridique ou judiciaire. En plus, les voies d’accès à cette profession sont différentes en France et en Espagne, dû aux normatives de chaque pays sur les conditions ou sur les examens ; en Espagne un examen de concours doit être réalisé tandis qu’en France il suffit de présenter la candidature. Par ailleurs, plusieurs experts ont analysé le sujet du point de vue pratique, à partir de l’analyse comparative de textes. Les différentes techniques qu’un traducteur doit maîtriser pour élaborer sa tâche sont développées dans leurs études. Nous analysons six documents officiels et leurs traductions pour vérifier quelles techniques sont, en effet, les plus utilisées selon la nature du document : l’équivalent établi, la traduction littérale ou la description sont les plus fréquentes.
