Numerical study on free vibration characteristics of encastre clinched joints

    Get PDF
The present paper deals with free vibration analysis of single lap encastre clinched joints using three dimensional finite element methods. The focus of the analysis is to reveal the influence on the natural frequencies, natural frequency ratios and mode shapes of these joints caused by variations in the material properties of the sheet materials. Numerical examples show that natural frequencies of single lap encastre clinched joints increase significantly as the Young’s modulus of the sheets increase, but only slight changes are encountered for variations of Poisson’s ratios. The mode shapes show that there are different deformations in the jointed section of clinched joints. These different deformations may cause different natural frequency values and different stress distributions. In both cases of transverse free vibration and torsional free vibration, odd mode shapes were found to be symmetrical about the mid-length position and even mode shaps were anti-symmetrical. The amplitudes of vibration at the mid-length of the joints are different for the odd and even modes. The geometry of the lap section is therefore very important and has a very significant effect on the dynamic response of the single lap encastre clinched joints. The main goal of this paper is to give an outline of free vibration characteristics of encastre clinched joints by finite element methods and to provide a basis for further experimental research

A Novel K-Means Clustered Support Vector Machine Technique for Prediction of Consumer Decision-Making Behaviour

A greater number of consumers are using social networks to express their feedback about the level of service provided by hotels. Online reviews from patrons can be used as a forum to enhance the level of service of hotels. Customer reviews are indeed a reliable and dependable source that aid diners in determining the quality of their cuisine. It is critical to develop techniques for evaluating client feedback on hotel services. In order to accurately anticipate the consumers' decision-making behaviors based on hotel internet evaluations, this study proposes a novel K-Means Clustered Support Vector Machine (KMC+SVM) technique. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is employed to determine the characteristics from the preprocessed data while the Min-Max normalization approach is used to standardize the raw data. The performance of the suggested technique is then evaluated and contrasted with a few other methods that are currently in use in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, RMSE, and MAE. The findings demonstrated that segmenting customers based on their online evaluations can accurately predict their choices and assist hotel management in establishing priorities for service quality enhancements

MiR-770-5p inhibits cisplatin chemoresistance in human ovarian cancer by targeting ERCC2

In this study, we examined the role of the miRNA miR-770-5p in cisplatin chemotherapy resistance in ovarian cancer (OVC) patients. miR-770-5p expression was reduced in platinum-resistant patients. Using a 6.128-fold in expression as the cutoff value, miR-770-5p expression served as a prognostic biomarker and predicted the response to cisplatin treatment and survival among OVC patients. Overexpression of miR-770-5p in vitro reduced survival in chemoresistant cell lines after cisplatin treatment. ERCC2, a target gene of miR-770-5p that participates in the NER system, was negatively regulated by miR-770-5p. siRNA-mediated silencing of ERCC2 reversed the inhibition of apoptosis resulting from miR-770-5p downreglation in A2780S cells. A comet assay confirmed that this restoration of cisplatin chemosensitivity was due to the inhibition of DNA repair. These findings suggest that endogenous miR-770-5p may function as an anti-oncogene and promote chemosensitivity in OVC, at least in part by downregulating ERCC2. miR-770-5p may therefore be a useful biomarker for predicting chemosensitivity to cisplatin in OVC patients and improve the selection of effective, more personalized, treatment strategies

Advanced lung cancer inflammation index is associated with long-term cardiovascular death in hypertensive patients: national health and nutrition examination study, 1999–2018

Background: Hypertension is one of the main causes of cardiovascular death. Inflammation was considered influential factors of cardiovascular (CVD) death in patients with hypertension. Advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI) is an index to assess inflammation, few studies have investigated the relationship between advanced lung cancer inflammation index and cardiovascular death in hypertensive patients. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between advanced lung cancer inflammation index and long-term cardiovascular death in hypertensive patients.Method: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999–2018 with mortality follow-up through 31 December 2019 were analyzed. Advanced lung cancer inflammation index was calculated as BMI (kg/㎡) × serum albumin level (g/dL)/neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR). A total of 20,517 participants were evaluated. Patients were divided into three groups based on tertiles of advanced lung cancer inflammation index as follows: T1 (n = 6,839), T2 (n = 6,839), and T3 (n = 6,839) groups. The relationship between advanced lung cancer inflammation index and long-term cardiovascular death was assessed by survival curves and Cox regression analysis based on the NHANES recommended weights. Results: The median advanced lung cancer inflammation index value in this study was 61.9 [44.4, 84.6]. After full adjustment, the T2 group (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.59, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.50–0.69; p < 0.001) and T3 group (HR: 0.48, 95% CI: 0.39–0.58; p < 0.001) were found to have a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular death compared to the T1 group. Conclusion: High levels of advanced lung cancer inflammation index were associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular death in hypertensive patients

A Novel Universal Primer-Multiplex-PCR Method with Sequencing Gel Electrophoresis Analysis

In this study, a novel universal primer-multiplex-PCR (UP-M-PCR) method adding a universal primer (UP) in the multiplex PCR reaction system was described. A universal adapter was designed in the 5′-end of each specific primer pairs which matched with the specific DNA sequences for each template and also used as the universal primer (UP). PCR products were analyzed on sequencing gel electrophoresis (SGE) which had the advantage of exhibiting extraordinary resolution. This method overcame the disadvantages rooted deeply in conventional multiplex PCR such as complex manipulation, lower sensitivity, self-inhibition and amplification disparity resulting from different primers, and it got a high specificity and had a low detection limit of 0.1 ng for single kind of crops when screening the presence of genetically modified (GM) crops in mixture samples. The novel developed multiplex PCR assay with sequencing gel electrophoresis analysis will be useful in many fields, such as verifying the GM status of a sample irrespective of the crop and GM trait and so on

In order to study the influence of different metal materials on the strength of adhesively-bonded single lap joints( SLJ),The adhesive bonding of SLJs whose adherends were aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, copper alloy and cold rolled steel were separately tested under tension-shear loading in ANSYS software based on singularity theory. The results show that the singularity order and stress intensity factor of adhesive joints decreased with the elasticity modulus increasing, the strength of adhesive joints increased with the elasticity modulus increasing
