    The VISCACHA survey : IV. The SMC West Halo in 8D

    The structure of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) is very complex, in particular in the periphery that suffers more from the interactions with the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). A wealth of observational evidence has been accumulated revealing tidal tails and bridges made up of gas, stars, and star clusters. Nevertheless, a full picture of the SMC outskirts is only recently starting to emerge with a 6D phase-space map plus age and metallicity using star clusters as tracers. In this work, we continue our analysis of another outer region of the SMC, the so-called West Halo, and combined it with the previously analysed Northern Bridge. We use both structures to define the Bridge and Counter-bridge trailing and leading tidal tails. These two structures are moving away from each other, roughly in the SMC–LMC direction. The West Halo form a ring around the SMC inner regions that goes up to the background of the Northern Bridge shaping an extended layer of the Counter-bridge. Four old Bridge clusters were identified at distances larger than 8 kpc from the SMC centre moving towards the LMC, which is consistent with the SMC–LMC closest distance of 7.5 kpc when the Magellanic Bridge was formed about 150Myr ago; this shows that the Magellanic Bridge was not formed only by pulled gas, but it also removed older stars from the SMC during its formation. We also found age and metallicity radial gradients using projected distances on sky, which are vanished when we use the real 3D distances

    Chemical analysis of eight giant stars of the globular cluster NGC 6366

    The metal-rich Galactic globular cluster NGC6366 is the fifth closest to the Sun. Despite its interest, it has received scarce attention, and little is known about its internal structure. Its kinematics suggests a link to the halo, but its metallicity indicates otherwise. We present a detailed chemical analysis of eight giant stars of NGC6366, using high-resolution and highquality spectra (R > 40 000, S/N > 60) obtained at the VLT (8.2 m) and CFHT (3.6 m) telescopes. We attempted to characterize its chemistry and to search for evidence of multiple stellar populations. The atmospheric parameters were derived using the method of excitation and ionization equilibrium of Fe I and Fe II lines and from those atmospheric parameters we calculated the abundances for other elements and found that none of the elements measured presents star-to-star variation greater than the uncertainties. We compared the derived abundances with those of other globular clusters and field stars available in the literature. We determined a mean [Fe/H] = −0.60 ± 0.03 for NGC6366 and found some similarity of this object with M71, another inner halo globular cluster. The Na–O anticorrelation extension is short and no star-to-star variation in Al is found. The presence of second generation stars is not evident in NGC6366

    Os problemas relacionados à sustentabilidade na construção civil podem ser vistos inicialmente pela ausência de um maior aproveitamento das informações inerentes de cada disciplina do projeto em uma edificação, afetando desde a etapa de execução com alterações de cronograma, custos e até escopo. Os sistemas conhecidos por complementares - mecânicos, elétricos e hidrossanitários (MEP) - compõem parte importante da obra, sendo foco de atenção por profissionais e empresas do setor de arquitetura, engenharia e construção (AEC). Assim também, a avaliação dos resultados energéticos a partir das características de envoltória da edificação, em especial a energia solar fotovoltaica é alvo de grande apelo à indústria da construção para melhores índices ligados à sustentabilidade. É sob este contexto, que esta pesquisa objetiva analisar o panorama da produção científica sobre a utilização da modelagem da informação da construção (do inglês BIM) em sistemas solares fotovoltaicos e sistemas elétricos, nos bancos de dados Science Direct, IEEE, Scopus e Web of Science. A pesquisa é considerada de natureza descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa, ao realizar técnicas de estudo por revisão sistemática. Os resultados permitiram entender a produção científica sobre o tema, com destaque à ordenação do processo BIM, as possibilidades e barreiras encontradas e a pouca abrangência direta ao tema com destaque ao Green-BIM e coordenação MEP

    OBJETIVO: Identificar os significados do banho no leito para estudantes de enfermagem, assim como seus sentimentos ao realizá-lo. MÉTODO: Estudo descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, que teve como cenários um hospital público e uma universidade estadual e como informantes 14 discentes. As informações foram coletadas por meio de um questionário e tratadas conforme a Técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, modalidade Temática. RESULTADOS: Diversos foram os significados do banho no leito para os informantes, tais como: “cuidado”, “relacionamento interpessoal”, “avaliação do estado geral”, “invasão de privacidade” e “identificação/atendimento das necessidades humanas básicas”, causando sentimentos/sensações tanto positivos, quanto negativos. CONCLUSÃO: O banho no leito necessita ser realizado por pessoas capacitadas e dotadas de sensibilidade, não se caracterizando em uma prática mecanicista, mas em uma ação terapêutica que promove bem estar e uma mais rápida recuperação do cliente.     Photo-chemo-dynamical analysis and the origin of the bulge globular cluster Palomar 6

    Context. Palomar 6 (Pal6) is a moderately metal-poor globular cluster projected towards the Galactic bulge. A full analysis of the cluster can give hints on the early chemical enrichment of the Galaxy and a plausible origin of the cluster. Aims. The aim of this study is threefold: a detailed analysis of high-resolution spectroscopic data obtained with the UVES spectro graph at the Very Large Telescope (VLT) at ESO, the derivation of the age and distance of Pal6 from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) photometric data, and an orbital analysis to determine the probable origin of the cluster. Methods. High-resolution spectra of six red giant stars in the direction of Pal6 were obtained at the 8 m VLT UT2-Kueyen telescope equipped with the UVES spectrograph in FLAMES+UVES configuration. Spectroscopic parameters were derived through excitation and ionisation equilibrium of Fe i and Fe ii lines, and the abundances were obtained from spectrum synthesis. From HST photometric data, the age and distance were derived through a statistical isochrone fitting. Finally, a dynamical analysis was carried out for the cluster assuming two different Galactic potentials. Results. Four stars that are members of Pal 6 were identified in the sample, which gives a mean radial velocity of 174.3 ± 1.6 km s−1 and a mean metallicity of [Fe/H] = −1.10 ± 0.09 for the cluster. We found an enhancement of α-elements (O, Mg, Si, and Ca) of 0.29 +0.30, this being evidence of a second stellar population, further confirmed with the NaON-Al (anti)correlations. For the first time, we derived the age of Pal 6, which resulted to be 12.4±0.9 Gyr. We also found a low extinction coefficient RV = 2.6 for the Pal 6 projection, which is compatible with the latest results for the highly extincted bulge populations. The derived extinction law results in a distance of 7.67 ± 0.19 kpc from the Sun with an AV = 4.21 ± 0.05. The chemical and photometric analyses combined with the orbital-dynamical analyses point out that Pal 6 belongs to the bulge component probably formed in the main-bulge progenitor. Conculsions. The present analysis indicates that the globular cluster Pal 6 is located in the bulge volume and that it was probably formed in the bulge in the early stages of the Milky Way formation, sharing the chemical properties with the family of intermediate metallicity very old clusters M 62, NGC 6522, NGC 6558, and HP 1

    Viabilidade da inoculação líquida com Rhizobium etli no sulco de semeadura do feijoeiro-comum

    The objective of this work was to evaluate the viability of liquid medium inoculation of Rhizobium etli in the planting furrow and to certify the efficiency of its strain UFLA 02-100 as a potential inoculant for common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). The treatments consisted of three application rates of liquid inoculant applied in the planting furrows and one rate applied in common bean seed, besides two controls without inoculation. The inoculant contained 109 cells of Rhizobium etli mL-1. Regardless of the application method, the yield obtained with the inoculation was equivalent to that of N from urea; however, the application in the furrows, at 0.6 L ha‑1, is more advantageous due to the operational practicality and reduced costs. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a viabilidade da inoculação líquida de Rhizobium etli no sulco de semeadura e certificar a eficiência da estirpe UFLA 02-100 como inoculante potencial para o feijoeiro-comum (Phaseolus vulgaris). Os tratamentos consistiram de três doses do inoculante líquido aplicadas aos sulcos e uma dose aplicada às sementes de feijão-comum, além de dois controles sem inoculação. O inoculante continha 109 células de Rhizobium etli mL-1. Independentemente do método de aplicação, a produtividade obtida com a inoculação foi equivalente à da aplicação de N da ureia, mas a aplicação ao sulco, com 0,6 L ha-1, é mais vantajosa pela praticidade operacional e redução de custos.

    USING ENTRUSTABLE PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES IN THE DESIGN OF THREE NEW HEALTHCARE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS: BIOMEDICINE, NURSING AND PSYCHOLOGY

    Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) can be defined as a unit of professional practice that can be entrusted to a trainee after they have obtained adequate competency. EPAs integrate multiple competencies from several domains and are very useful in designing competency-based curricula. Using EPAs to design medical curricula has been widely described, but their application to curriculum design of other health-related undergraduate programs is scarce. This manuscript critically assesses an educational planning experience of using EPAs to simultaneously design three healthcare undergraduate programs (nursing, biomedicine and psychology) at Faculdade Santa Casa BH, Minas Gerais, Brazil. We present the EPAs for each program, curricula frameworks, educational strategies, and assessment methods. Expert groups of professors and educational specialists defined the core professional activities that would be directly assessed and entrusted to trainees from the three different programs. The expert group then defined the required knowledge, skills, and attitudes for each EPA and selected the appropriate assessment tools to be used in entrustment decisions. The expected entrustment level for each training phase guided the course’s distribution of core and elective courses. The experience of designing a curriculum using EPAs was successful and helped focus on the core activities of each profession. It also provided an opportunity to reflect upon formative and summative assessments throughout the course bringing the challenge of reorienting our teaching practices and assessment approaches. Designing undergraduate curricula of health-related professions using EPAs is feasible and might help operationalize competency-based curricula.  Article visualizations
