LEVERAGING WI-FI INFRASTRUCTURE FOR INCREASED POWER SAVINGS IN IOT DEVICES

    Get PDF
Mining is one of the oldest industries known to man, and it continues to remain essential for the prosperity of modern civilization. Compared to surface mining, a large number of disasters are likely to occur during underground mining. To ensure the safety and security of an underground working environment, it is critical for underground mining operations to employ a robust and efficient monitoring infrastructure. To address that need, techniques are presented herein that support an increase in power savings in Internet of things (IoT) devices by leveraging a Wi-Fi infrastructure to determine when, and how frequently, such devices should wake up to send or receive data. Aspects of the presented techniques employ an access point’s (AP\u27s) channel state information (CSI) data, in conjunction with data from an AP’s on-board sensors (for metrics such as air quality, altimeter, temperature, and humidity), to detect indoor occupancy which, in turn, may drive the Target Wakeup Time (TWT) for selected IoT devices

Polymyositis (PM) is a rare idiopathic-inflammatory-myopathy characterized by symmetric proximal muscle weakness and elevated muscle-enzymes. The estimated annual incidence has been reported to be 1/250,000 new cases/year. In Ayurveda the symptoms of this disease can be broadly studied under the spectrum of Dhatugata Jwara explained in Charaka Samhitha Jwara Adhikara. The contemporary science opines that there is no cure for polymyositis and treatment ranges from medications (high dose of corticosteroids) to physical therapy to improve muscle strength and function. Adverse effects associated with long term use of corticosteroids are the major drawbacks. So, an efficient Ayurvedic Treatment that can improve the condition and also overcome the adverse effects of corticosteroids and its dependency is the need of hour. A diagnosed case of AutoimmuneIdiopathic-Inflammatory-Polymyositis patient aged 32years visited Panchakarma OPD, GAMC, Bangalore. These symptoms mimicked Dhatugata Jwara with its Adhistana in Mamsa. Thus, its line of treatment was adopted here i.e. patient was administered with Pachana-Deepana-Jwaraharachikitsa initially followed by Virechana and 2 courses of Yapana Basti along with Abyanga and DashamoolaYasti Ksheeraseka externally. The dose of tab Wysolone and tab Methotrexate was slowly tapered. By the end of 2 months of our treatment, Patient was relieved with above symptoms and there was marked reduction in CPK(3770IU/L) and devoid of tab Wysolone with only Methotrexate 5mg once a week. Thus, the above case study has shown that the autoimmune disorders such as Polymyositis can be managed effectively in Ayurveda by undergoing regular Shodhana and following the regimens accordingly

Within a wireless local area network (WLAN) involving many Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 access points (APs) in a high-density network, radio operating mode assignments for dual band (2.4 Gigahertz (GHz)/5GHz) or tri-band (2.4GHz/5GHz/6Ghz) capable radios can be provided using various radio assignment techniques in order to optimize radio coverage and reduce interference, which can improve user experience in such a high-density network. Presented herein is technique that re-architects traditional coverage-based radio assignments to adhere with 6GHz standards, high efficiency (HE) station load requirements, and Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) regulations when determining optimal radio role transformations for Wi-Fi® dual band or tri-band 6GHz capable radios

    WI-FI CLIENT STEERING BETWEEN 2.4GHZ, 5GHZ, AND 6GHZ BANDS

    Get PDF
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other regulatory bodies around the world have opened up a new range of spectrum in the 6 Gigahertz (GHz) band for unlicensed use. The 6GHz band provides more channels, more bandwidth, and has less network congestion as compared to existing 2.4/5GHz bands. However, even though 6GHz capable radios are present and reachable in networks, 6GHz capable clients may still associate to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz radio because these bands typically have wider coverage and stronger signal strength than the 6GHz band. As a result, clients may not obtain the best performance available. Presented herein are techniques to steer 6GHz capable clients to a 6GHz radio when such clients associate to a non-6GHz radio, which can help to increase wireless network performance by providing the best performing band and decreasing network congestion by load balancing between bands

Role of Jaloukavacharana in acute pain management of Amavata with respect to Rheumatoid Arthritis : A pilot study

    Get PDF
Amavata is one of the most challenging diseases caused by Ama combining with vitiated Vata Dosha. The disease Amavata manifests where patient cries out of pain, severe stiffness, loss of appetite, vague body ache and crippling deformity of joints, which make them bed ridden. Having several features similar to Rheumatoid arthritis, Amavata is generally compared with it. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a long-term autoimmune disorder that primarily affects joints. Pain and stiffness often worsen following rest. Pain medications, steroids, and NSAIDs are frequently used in contemporary science, to treat the disease. Disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), such as hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate, are also used to slow the progression of disease but these have their own side effects. Jaloukavacharana described in Ayurveda plays a major role in reducing pain and swelling. Hence an effort has been made in this present study to evaluate the efficacy of Jaloukavacharana in the acute management of pain in Amavata. 10 subjects between 20-60yrs with classical symptoms of Amavata were selected from IP section of SJIIM Hospital, Bengaluru. The assessment was done before the day of initiation of treatment, after the treatment and on 8th day. Clinically patients found significant relief in pain, swelling and range of movements after one sitting of Jaloukavacharana, hence it can be concluded that Jaloukavacharana is effective in management of pain in acute phase of Amavata

Management strategies of Mootrashmari through Panchakarma

    Get PDF
Ashmari is a word termed for those objects resembling stone. Acharya Sushruta described it as one of the Ashta-Mahagadas. He also termed it as ‘Yama’ because it gives intolerable pain. Charaka mentioned Ashmari as one of Bastimarmashritha Vyadhi. In modern science, it is correlated with Urolithiasis. Urolithiasis is the condition where urinary stones are formed or located anywhere in the urinary system. In the modern arena, for Mootrashmari (Urolithiasis) surgical procedures are the only treatment of choice which are not conducive enough as they have the disadvantages of high expenditure, side effects and disease recurrence. present era have highly appreciated the importance and therapeutic efficacy of Panchakarma and has become the integral part of Ayurvedic treatment. Therefore, the Panchakarma modalities are the conservative line of treatments to overcome Mootrashmari

Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2) are innate counterparts of T helper 2 (Th2) cells that maintain tissue homeostasis and respond to injuries through rapid interleukin (IL)-5 and IL-13 secretion. ILC2s depend on availability of arginine and branched-chain amino acids for sustaining cellular fitness, proliferation, and cytokine secretion in both steady state and upon activation. However, the contribution of amino acid transporters to ILC2 functions is not known. Here, we found that ILC2s selectively expres

The aryl hydrocarbon receptor instructs the immunomodulatory profile of a subset of Clec4a4 eosinophils unique to the small intestine

C-type lectin domain family 4, member a4 (Clec4a4) is a C-type lectin inhibitory receptor specific for glycans thought to be exclusively expressed on murine CD8α− conventional dendritic cells. Using newly generated Clec4a4-mCherry knock-in mice, we identify a subset of Clec4a4-expressing eosinophils uniquely localized in the small intestine lamina propria. Clec4a4+ eosinophils evinced an immunomodulatory signature, whereas Clec4a4− eosinophils manifested a proinflammatory profile. Clec4a4+ eosinophils expressed high levels of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (Ahr), which drove the expression of Clec4a4 as well as other immunomodulatory features, such as PD-L1. The abundance of Clec4a4+ eosinophils was dependent on dietary AHR ligands, increased with aging, and declined in inflammatory conditions. Mice lacking AHR in eosinophils expanded innate lymphoid cells of type 2 and cleared Nippostrongylus brasiliensis infection more effectively than did wild-type mice. These results highlight the heterogeneity of eosinophils in response to tissue cues and identify a unique AHR-dependent subset of eosinophils in the small intestine with an immunomodulatory profile
