    On the Ability of Coarse Grained Aluminium Hydroxide to Induce Nucleation in Decomposition of Aluminate Solutions*

    Experiments are reported by which the presence of new fine crystallites was established after seeding aluminate solutions with coarse grained hydrargillite. The presence of the newly formed fines is attributed to chipping off the dendrites formed on the surface of [arge . crystals as shown by electron micrographs. The intermediate range of particle sizes is due to fracture of large crystal growing. These are cases when some time is needed for the coal\u27se particles to become BJble to induce nucleation

    EBSD analysis of the structural state of the Cu-Zn-Mn-Al-Fe-Ni alloy after hot deformation

    The structural state of the Cu-Zn-Mn-Al-Fe-Ni alloy after high-temperature forming is studied. It is reported that in the section of a ring blank there are two structural zones with different amounts of strain. It has been found by EBSD analysis that in the maximum strain zone the alloy suffers dynamic recrystallization under forming, whereas in the minimum strain zone there is only dynamic polygonization, coarse grain boundaries become strengthened, this being ac-companied by an increase in the values of hardness to 300 HV 0.2; this causes their embrittlement and brittle grain-boundary cracking of the blank at room temperature under the effect of residual stresses. © 2017 Author(s).The study was partially supported by the UB RAS basic research program, project No. 15-10-1-22.     RuDaCoP: The Dataset for Smartphone-based Intellectual Pedestrian Navigation

    This paper presents the large and diverse dataset for development of smartphone-based pedestrian navigation algorithms. This dataset consists of about 1200 sets of inertial measurements from sensors of several smartphones. The measurements are collected while walking through different trajectories up to 10 minutes long. The data are accompanied by the high accuracy ground truth collected with two foot-mounted inertial measurement units and post-processed by the presented algorithms. The dataset suits both for training of intellectual pedestrian navigation algorithms based on learning techniques and for development of pedestrian navigation algorithms based on classical approaches.     Analysis of Erosion Resistance of CuC Arcing Contacts Manufactured by Plasma Spraying Technology

    Results of the erosion resistance study of the CuC electrodes manufactured by plasma spraying technology are presented. The diagnostics has have been performed by means of high-speed camera technique and optical emission spectroscopy which has been synchronised with electrical diagnostics. After the load material analyses, namely determination of mass loss and analysis of micro sections, have been done. It has been found that the erosion rate depends on conditions applied for the formation of coating layer, which was deposited either in air or in argon plasma. Furthermore, the erosion rate is significantly lower in the case of air plasma spraying
