    The value of the middle cerebral to umbilical artery doppler ratio in the prediction of neonatal outcome in patients with high risk pregnancy

    Background: To investigate the diagnostic value of MCA/UA pulsatility index ratio for the prediction of adverse perinatal outcome in patients with high risk pregnancy.Methods: We included in the study 170 patients recovered in our hospital with the diagnosis of preeclampsia and gestational hypertension, twins, postdated, IUGR, BOH from June 2016 to May 2017. All the patients underwent accurate color Doppler velocimetry examination available in our hospital. Outcome variables were intrauterine and early neonatal death, admission to neonatal intensive care unit and the duration of treatment, APGAR score below 7 at 5 minutes, cesarean delivery for foetal distress, gestational age at delivery, neonatal birth weight, IUGR.Results: In 102 patients, we found abnormal values of CPI ratio. Neonates of mothers with abnormal CPI ratio had significantly lower gestational age at delivery, lower birth weight, significantly greater risk for perinatal death, significantly greater risk of admission to intensive care unit, longer duration of treatment in NICU, greater rate of cesarean delivery for foetal distress, increased number of fetuses IUGR.Conclusions: CPI ratio is a very good predictor of adverse outcome in the fetuses of women with pre-eclampsia and other high-risk pregnancy

    We propose a wavelet-based dynamic conditional correlation – GARCH approach to investigate the time-scale comovement between the Indian and world stock markets. Our empirical analysis reveals the existence of time-scale-dependent comovement between Indian and world stock markets. The results can thus be used by heterogeneous groups of foreign and Indian investors who trade in different time horizons to actively manage and hedge against the risk of their portfolios

    Smart city is a booming phenomenon in the 21st century with Open data initiatives increasingly becoming part of elements considered in emergence of this cities. Data plays an important role in enhancing informed decision making in real time. Availability of different open data talesis an added advantage. This paper analyses data initiatives from countries that are in the process of developing smart cities namely Kenya and India. Although their geographical boundaries vary in priorities of respective governments in development plans. We consider China, India and Africa, where smart city initiatives are promoted as a way of enabling modernization and national development, responding to population growth/migration, and managing economic and urban transitions. The study sought to identify how the open data initiatives available in this respective countries and they are similar to the conceptual framework of smart cities also to identify how they will shape development of different smart cities. This findings show the necessity of open data initiatives on emergence of smart cities

    Role of mifepristone in induction of labour in pregnant women with previous lower section caesarean section with IUFD in late preterm and term pregnancies

    Background: The objective of the study was to evaluate efficacy and safety of oral mifepristone for preinduction cervical ripening and induction of labour in late preterm and term pregnancies with previous caesarean section with intrauterine fetal demiseMethods: This prospective short term study was conducted at Umaid hospital SNMC Jodhpur Rajasthan January 2016 to November 2016. 100 subjects with previous uses beyond 34 week with intrauterine fetal demise and bishop’s score<6 were included. Tablet mifepristone 200mg was given orally after taking written in informed consent. The same dose was repeated after 24 hour according to bishop’s score. Analysis was done with respect to maternal outcome of vaginal delivery, CS, duration of labour.Results: Among 100 subjects, 97 delivered vaginally (97%) delivered within 72 hour of 1% dose. Improvement of bishop’s score was observed in 1 subject (1%), which later required augmentation by oxytocin followed by vaginal delivery.1 subject (2%) failed to respond and required caesarean section, 72 hour after given of 1st dose.Conclusions: Mifepristone can be used safely and effectively for induction of labour in previous one and two LSCS near term and term pregnancies to avoid CS rates

    Smart cities use information and communication technologies to deliver services to their citizens. Use of ICT makes them to be more intelligent and efficient in usage of resources, resulting in cost and energy savings, improved service delivery and quality of life. Smart cities are expected to be the fundamental pillars of continued economic growth and improved services delivery. Smart City technology is having ability to constantly gather information about the city, sharing the data with people, devices and technologies or borrowing relevant data from elsewhere, for analysis to enable informed decision making. For instance internet of things has emerged as a technological driving force in real time service delivery in smart cities. These applications provide new abilities, enhancing monitoring, and provision of action oriented process on control and device management. Smart devices are a major source of big data in smart cities. With expected increase of billions of smart devices and sensors in smart city by the year 2020, more data will be generated which will reduce efficiency of cloud access, due to increased volume. Security and privacy of data is a challenge in smart city, negligence in data security and privacy can be amplified in folds resulting to faulty applications, services along with paralyzing the entire city through Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, Spear Phishing Attacksand Brute-Force Attacks among others.Fog computing FC is a new paradigm that is intended to extend cloud computing CC through deployment of processing and localized units into the network edge, enabling low latency, offering location awareness and latency sensitiveness. Homomorphism for encryption, authorization, authentication, and classification are performed on collected data in smart cities to improve security and privacy. In this paper assimilation and analysis, is performed with fog computing aspects of decentralization, different policies for datacenter transferstrategies being analyzed.Processing time, access time, request time, response time and cost analysis show system efficiency

    3D Array Block Rotation Cipher: An Improvement using lateral shift

    This paper on Cipher based on 3D Array Block Rotation is in continuation with our earlier paper titled A cipher based on 3D Array Block Rotation. It discusses a new rotation; lateral shift along with the earlier discussed rotation of the 3D Array block or circular shifting of plates of 3D Array in clockwise direction while enciphering and anticlockwise direction while deciphering. It also discusses the problem of relative bit positioning in the earlier specified algorithm and introduce shift rotations of the blocks as a possible solution to the problem. It uses a key of specified length which can be either transferred with the ciphertext or can be obtained by an agreed upon random bit generator. In all, it is a novel and effective cipher with good randomness property
