Research of Risk Identify of Accounts Receivable Financing Based on System Dynamics
Based on the analysis of operational mechanism and risk causes, this paper analyzes the financing risk, supply chain operation risk, financing operation risk, legal risk, macro system risk and market risk in six dimensions of SME accounts receivable financing in supply chain. This paper systematically studies the risk characteristics of SME accounts receivable financing, and build SD model of SME accounts receivable financing through the VENSIM simulation software to carry out risk identification, it could identify the risk dimension and risk boundary effectively , and it could dynamic identify the incentive of financing risk through feedback loops analysis of financing process, provides technical support for the further risk measurement and risk prevention of SME accounts receivable financing in supply chain
Rural Destination revitalization in Shennongjia Forestry District: A Tourism Poverty Alleviation Perspective
Tourism development is an important way to eliminate poverty. Existing research in this area has been mostly based on western experiences; In this context, there is a lack of research on how to promote rural revitalization through tourism, especially in these poverty-stricken areas. This study fills this research gap by selecting and evaluating the developing process of Shennongjia Forestry District in China. Tourism is considered a way to mitigate poverty in the region, and make a great effort and ultimately revive the economy and culture of the region. Shennongjia Forestry District illustrates the importance of initial conditions and how the government attaches great importance to the development of the region and poverty alleviation policies can help mitigate shortfalls in those initial conditions. We summarize many successful practices in Shennongjia Forestry District in different phases, especially the application of e-commerce in tourism poverty alleviation, and concluded that by addressing the needs of tourists and providing proper products, and a number of poverty alleviation measures have really worked. Study results also showed that the development of tourism has driven the development of other industries, and the construction of government support network has indeed had a profound impact on poverty alleviation. WinDB: HMD-free and Distortion-free Panoptic Video Fixation Learning
To date, the widely-adopted way to perform fixation collection in panoptic
video is based on a head-mounted display (HMD), where participants' fixations
are collected while wearing an HMD to explore the given panoptic scene freely.
However, this widely-used data collection method is insufficient for training
deep models to accurately predict which regions in a given panoptic are most
important when it contains intermittent salient events. The main reason is that
there always exist "blind zooms" when using HMD to collect fixations since the
participants cannot keep spinning their heads to explore the entire panoptic
scene all the time. Consequently, the collected fixations tend to be trapped in
some local views, leaving the remaining areas to be the "blind zooms".
Therefore, fixation data collected using HMD-based methods that accumulate
local views cannot accurately represent the overall global importance of
complex panoramic scenes. This paper introduces the auxiliary Window with a
Dynamic Blurring (WinDB) fixation collection approach for panoptic video, which
doesn't need HMD and is blind-zoom-free. Thus, the collected fixations can well
reflect the regional-wise importance degree. Using our WinDB approach, we have
released a new PanopticVideo-300 dataset, containing 300 panoptic clips
covering over 225 categories. Besides, we have presented a simple baseline
design to take full advantage of PanopticVideo-300 to handle the
blind-zoom-free attribute-induced fixation shifting problem
Amplification Refractory Mutation System (ARMS)-PCR for waxy sorghum authentication with single-nucleotide resolution
Waxy sorghum has greater economic value than wild sorghum in relation to their use in food processing and the brewing industry. Thus, the authentication of the waxy sorghum species is an important issue. Herein, a rapid and sensitive Authentication Amplification Refractory Mutation System-PCR (aARMS-PCR) method was employed to identify sorghum species via its ability to resolve single-nucleotide in genes. As a proof of concept, we chose a species of waxy sorghum containing the wxc mutation which is abundantly used in liquor brewing. The aARMS-PCR can distinguish non-wxc sorghum from wxc sorghum to guarantee identification of specific waxy sorghum species. It allowed to detect as low as 1% non-wxc sorghum in sorghum mixtures, which ar one of the most sensitive tools for food authentication. Due to its ability for resolving genes with single-nucleotide resolution and high sensitivity, aARMS-PCR may have wider applicability in monitoring food adulteration, offering a rapid food authenticity verification in the control of adulteration
Applications of CRISPR/Cas Technology to Research the Synthetic Genomics of Yeast
The whole genome projects open the prelude to the diversity and complexity of biological genome by generating immense data. For the sake of exploring the riddle of the genome, scientists around the world have dedicated themselves in annotating for these massive data. However, searching for the exact and valuable information is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Advances in gene editing technology have allowed researchers to precisely manipulate the targeted functional genes in the genome by the state-of-the-art gene-editing tools, so as to facilitate the studies involving the fields of biology, agriculture, food industry, medicine, environment and healthcare in a more convenient way. As a sort of pioneer editing devices, the CRISPR/Cas systems having various versatile homologs and variants, now are rapidly giving impetus to the development of synthetic genomics and synthetic biology. Firstly, in the chapter, we will present the classification, structural and functional diversity of CRISPR/Cas systems. Then we will emphasize the applications in synthetic genome of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) using CRISPR/Cas technology based on year order. Finally, the summary and prospection of synthetic genomics as well as synthetic biotechnology based on CRISPR/Cas systems and their further utilizations in yeast are narrated
Increased circulating ANG II and TNF-α represents important risk factors in obese Saudi adults with hypertension irrespective of diabetic status and BMI
Central adiposity is a significant determinant of obesity-related hypertension risk, which may arise due to the pathogenic inflammatory nature of the abdominal fat depot. However, the influence of pro-inflammatory adipokines on blood pressure in the obese hypertensive phenotype has not been well established in Saudi subjects. As such, our study investigated whether inflammatory factors may represent useful biomarkers to delineate hypertension risk in a Saudi cohort with and without hypertension and/or diabetes mellitus type 2 (DMT2). Subjects were subdivided into four groups: healthy lean controls (age: 47.9±5.1 yr; BMI: 22.9±2.1 Kg/m2), non-hypertensive obese (age: 46.1±5.0 yr; BMI: 33.7±4.2 Kg/m2), hypertensive obese (age: 48.6±6.1 yr; BMI: 36.5±7.7 Kg/m2) and hypertensive obese with DMT2 (age: 50.8±6.0 yr; BMI: 35.3±6.7 Kg/m2). Anthropometric data were collected from all subjects and fasting blood samples were utilized for biochemical analysis. Serum angiotensin II (ANG II) levels were elevated in hypertensive obese (p<0.05) and hypertensive obese with DMT2 (p<0.001) compared with normotensive controls. Systolic blood pressure was positively associated with BMI (p<0.001), glucose (p<0.001), insulin (p<0.05), HOMA-IR (p<0.001), leptin (p<0.01), TNF-α (p<0.001) and ANG II (p<0.05). Associations between ANG II and TNF-α with systolic blood pressure remained significant after controlling for BMI. Additionally CRP (p<0.05), leptin (p<0.001) and leptin/adiponectin ratio (p<0.001) were also significantly associated with the hypertension phenotype. In conclusion our data suggests that circulating pro-inflammatory adipokines, particularly ANG II and, TNF-α, represent important factors associated with a hypertension phenotype and may directly contribute to predicting and exacerbating hypertension risk
Simvastatin Prevents Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration in Experimental Parkinsonian Models: The Association with Anti-Inflammatory Responses
Background: In addition to their original applications to lowering cholesterol, statins display multiple neuroprotective effects. N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors interact closely with the dopaminergic system and are strongly implicated in therapeutic paradigms of Parkinson’s disease (PD). This study aims to investigate how simvastatin impacts on experimental parkinsonian models via regulating NMDA receptors. Methodology/Principal Findings: Regional changes in NMDA receptors in the rat brain and anxiolytic-like activity were examined after unilateral medial forebrain bundle lesion by 6-hydroxydopamine via a 3-week administration of simvastatin. NMDA receptor alterations in the post-mortem rat brain were detected by [3H]MK-801(Dizocilpine) binding autoradiography. 6-hydroxydopamine treated PC12 was applied to investigate the neuroprotection of simvastatin, the association with NMDA receptors, and the anti-inflammation. 6-hydroxydopamine induced anxiety and the downregulation of NMDA receptors in the hippocampus, CA1(Cornu Ammonis 1 Area), amygdala and caudate putamen was observed in 6- OHDA(6-hydroxydopamine) lesioned rats whereas simvastatin significantly ameliorated the anxiety-like activity and restored the expression of NMDA receptors in examined brain regions. Significant positive correlations were identified between anxiolytic-like activity and the restoration of expression of NMDA receptors in the hippocampus, amygdala and CA1 following simvastatin administration. Simvastatin exerted neuroprotection in 6-hydroxydopamine-lesioned rat brain and 6- hydroxydopamine treated PC12, partially by regulating NMDA receptors, MMP9 (matrix metalloproteinase-9), and TNF-a (tumour necrosis factor-alpha). Conclusions/Significance: Our results provide strong evidence that NMDA receptor modulation after simvastatin treatment could partially explain its anxiolytic-like activity and anti-inflammatory mechanisms in experimental parkinsonian models. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the critical roles of simvastatin in treating PD via NMDA receptors
Age Related Changes in NAD+ Metabolism Oxidative Stress and Sirt1 Activity in Wistar Rats
The cofactor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) has emerged as a key
regulator of metabolism, stress resistance and longevity. Apart from its role as
an important redox carrier, NAD+ also serves as the sole substrate for
NAD-dependent enzymes, including poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), an
important DNA nick sensor, and NAD-dependent histone deacetylases, Sirtuins
which play an important role in a wide variety of processes, including
senescence, apoptosis, differentiation, and aging. We examined the effect of
aging on intracellular NAD+ metabolism in the whole heart, lung, liver and
kidney of female wistar rats. Our results are the first to show a significant
decline in intracellular NAD+ levels and NAD∶NADH ratio in all organs
by middle age (i.e.12 months) compared to young (i.e. 3 month old) rats. These
changes in [NAD(H)] occurred in parallel with an increase in lipid
peroxidation and protein carbonyls (o- and m- tyrosine) formation and decline in
total antioxidant capacity in these organs. An age dependent increase in DNA
damage (phosphorylated H2AX) was also observed in these same organs. Decreased
Sirt1 activity and increased acetylated p53 were observed in organ tissues in
parallel with the drop in NAD+ and moderate over-expression of Sirt1
protein. Reduced mitochondrial activity of complex I–IV was also observed
in aging animals, impacting both redox status and ATP production. The strong
positive correlation observed between DNA damage associated NAD+ depletion
and Sirt1 activity suggests that adequate NAD+ concentrations may be an
important longevity assurance factor
Genetic dissection of the relationships between grain yield components by genome-wide association mapping in a collection of tetraploid wheats
Increasing grain yield potential in wheat has been a major target of most breeding programs. Genetic advance has been frequently hindered by negative correlations among yield components that have been often observed in segregant populations and germplasm collections. A tetraploid wheat collection was evaluated in seven environments and genotyped with a 90K SNP assay to identify major and stable quantitative trait loci (QTL) for grain yield per spike (GYS), kernel number per spike (KNS) and thousand-kernel weight (TKW), and to analyse the genetic relationships between the yield components at QTL level. The genome-wide association analysis detected eight, eleven and ten QTL for KNS, TKW and GYS, respectively, significant in at least three environments or two environments and the mean across environments. Most of the QTL for TKW and KNS were found located in different marker intervals, indicating that they are genetically controlled independently by each other. Out of eight KNS QTL, three were associated to significant increases of GYS, while the increased grain number of five additional QTL was completely or partially compensated by decreases in grain weight, thus producing no or reduced effects on GYS. Similarly, four consistent and five suggestive TKW QTL resulted in visible increase of GYS, while seven additional QTL were associated to reduced effects in grain number and no effects on GYS. Our results showed that QTL analysis for detecting TKW or KNS alleles useful for improving grain yield potential should consider the pleiotropic effects of the QTL or the association to other QTLs
