We report on the activities of the ``QCD Tools for heavy flavors and new physics searches'' working group of the Run II Workshop on QCD and Weak Bosons. The contributions cover the topics of improved parton showering and comparisons of Monte Carlo programs and resummation calculations, recent developments in Pythia, the methodology of measuring backgrounds to new physics searches, variable flavor number schemes for heavy quark electro-production, the underlying event in hard scattering processes, and the Monte Carlo MCFM for NLO processes.Comment: LaTeX, 47 pages, 41 figures, 10 tables, uses run2col.sty, to appear in the Proceedings of the Workshop on "QCD and Weak Boson Physics in Run II", Fermilab, March - November 199

On elliptic solutions of the quintic complex one-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau equation

The Conte-Musette method has been modified for the search of only elliptic solutions to systems of differential equations. A key idea of this a priory restriction is to simplify calculations by means of the use of a few Laurent series solutions instead of one and the use of the residue theorem. The application of our approach to the quintic complex one-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE5) allows to find elliptic solutions in the wave form. We also find restrictions on coefficients, which are necessary conditions for the existence of elliptic solutions for the CGLE5. Using the investigation of the CGLE5 as an example, we demonstrate that to find elliptic solutions the analysis of a system of differential equations is more preferable than the analysis of the equivalent single differential equation.Comment: LaTeX, 21 page

    Parton Distributions Working Group

The main focus of this working group was to investigate the different issues associated with the development of quantitative tools to estimate parton distribution functions uncertainties. In the conclusion, we introduce a "Manifesto" that describes an optimal method for reporting data.Comment: Report of the Parton Distributions Working Group of the 'QCD and Weak Boson Physics workshop in preparation for Run II at the Fermilab Tevatron'. Charm-sea Contribution to High-p_T \psi Production at the Fermilab Tevatron

The direct production of J/ψ(ψ)J/\psi(\psi') at large transverse momentum, pTMJ/ψp_T \gg M_{J/\psi}, at the Fermilab Tevatron is revisited. It is found that the sea-quark initiated processes dominate in the high-pTp_T region within the framework of color-singlet model, which is not widely realized. We think this finding is enlightening for further investigation on the charmonium production mechanism.Comment: Conclusions not changed, to appear in J. of Phys.

History of unique heliometric observations of the moon's physical libration

© Medwell Journals, 2016.The research is devoted to the investigation history of the kinetic and dynamic parameters of the Moon. Today, the Moon is the subject of a comprehensive study in many space experiments. In this research, we proposed a historical analysis of unique Heliometric observations of the Moon's physical libration. The article described the history of the beginning of observations and study of the physical libration of the Moon in Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory (EAO) and the main results obtained by these studies. The programs of space missions consist of the subtle effects investigation of the rotational motion and the physical liberation, a study of the gravitational field of the Moon and planets crosslink tracking methods, creating a selenographic coordinate system and the standing the variety of the internal structure of the Moon. Unquestionably, the basis for all these studies are the classic Heliometric observations of lunar physical liberation started over 100 years ago. In 2015, it was the 100th anniversary of Banachiewicz's series of physical libration of the Moon creation. The values of the parameters of the lunar physical libration obtained from Heliometric observations are given. The study also describes Banachiewicz's observations on the meridian circle, participation in observations of a solar eclipse at the 1912 year and gravimetric expeditions

Deep inelastic J/ψJ/\psi production at HERA in the kTk_T-factorization approach and its consequences for the nonrelativistic QCD

    Get PDF
In the framework of the kTk_T-factorization approach, we analyse the inclusive and inelastic production of J/ψJ/\psi particles in deep inelastic epep scattering. We take into account both colour-singlet and colour-octet production channels. We inspect the sensitivity of theoretical predictions to the choice of model parameters. Our theoretical results agree reasonably well with recent experimental data collected by the collaboration H1 at HERA.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figure

Morbidity Rates of Q Fever in the Russian Federation and European Countries: Realities and Problems

    Get PDF
Q fever poses a problem, both in the Russian Federation and abroad. Thereat, a new base normative document, sanitary-epidemiological regulations on coxiellosis prevention, has been developed and approved in the Russian Federation. For the first time ever in the world history, a regulated surveillance of community-acquired pneumonias, which will help to improve diagnostics of this pathology, has been introduced in our country. Quality of Q fever control directly depends on the laboratory facilities, qualification of the personnel, and coordination of interagency cooperation. All these factors provide for the prompt assessment of the situation, in-time anti-epidemic measures, and forecasting of the events, which ensures the biological security of Russian Federation

Constraining top squark in R-parity violating SUSY model using existing Tevatron data

    Get PDF
Signal of lighter top squark has been looked for using Tevatron data in the di-electron plus di-jet channel. We find that the mass of the lighter top squark when it decays dominantly in the electron plus jet channel, can be ruled out up to 220 GeV at 95% C.L. using di-electron data. In the framework of R-parity breaking SUSY model we exclude relevant R-parity violating couplings for a range of top squark masses and other SUSY parameters. The bounds on R-parity violating couplings are very stringent for the parameter space where lighter top squark turns out to be the next to lightest supersymmetric particle.Comment: 12 pages, 4 Figures, LateX, minor changes, few references added, version to appear in Physical Rev.
