The Role of Vladimir TkalÄiÄ in the Establishment of the Museum of Arts and Crafts Record-Keeping System
This paper will attempt to provide an insight into the creation and evolution of
the foundation system of museum records of the Museum of Arts and Crafts,
which was developed during the directorship of Vladimir TkalÄiÄ (1933ā1952)
and to a certain extent maintained even after the end of said period. A comparative
analysis will show what corresponded and what differed in the mentioned
system in managing the museum inventory (or with museum documentation)
from the foundation of the Museum of Arts and Crafts (1880)
until 1933. Also, special emphasis will be placed on the creation of a central
or unique inventory book of the Museum of Arts and Crafts, which (albeit in
digital form) is still maintained in the Museum of Arts and Crafts today
Ecological speciation factors
In the process of transformation of one species to another, ecological speciation (which is defined as a process with which the barriers in the gene flow evolve inbetween generations), as a result of ecologically based divergent selection between evironments, has been intensively researched in the last 15-20 years. Numerous factors, as are the origins of natural divergent selection, the form of reproductive isolation and the genetic mehanism which binds divergent selection with reproductive isolation, are in the center of those researches, which are getting more numerous every day. Several factors are for now well established. We know that the process occurs in nature, we understand the aspects of each of the three main factors of ecological speciation. Various forms of reproductive isolation reveal that most evolve as a result of divergent selection, including forms such as postmating and reproductive isolation, which are not inherently ecological. It is also known that many forms can operate simultaneously during ecological speciation, and there are well-known examples of speciation in sympatry, parapatry and allopatry. Ecological speciation can occur within any geographical distribution of the population, and also due to multiple geographic factors, where some divergence appears in allopatry, and some in the form of gene flow. There is evidence that divergence occurs most easily when the speed (frequency) of gene flow is low. The consequence of all this is biodiversity that explains how ecological processes influence the evolution, and how evolution affects ecology. Despite this, little is known about the complexity of the genomic basis of ecological speciation. Our understanding of the influence of ecological speciation, integrated with molecluar, populational and quantitative genetics gives us, for now, just a small insight in the complexity of natural processes
Traffic Sign Shape Detection and Classification based on the Segment Surface Occupancy Analysis and Correlation Comparisons
This article addresses the issue of traffic sign recognition. It contributes to a growing body of research done by the automotive industry due to a necessity for ensuring better safety on the roads. This paper presents a novel method for traffic signs recognition. The implementation of the whole process of traffic sign recognition has a step-wise nature but the novelty is introduced into the traffic sign shape detection stage. The method is based on a new approach for traffic sign shape recognition based on the image content occupancy analysis. Further, the traffic sign content classification is based on a simplistic relational correlation analysis. The tests were performed on image data comprising various roads and lighting conditions. The test includes different sizes of templates used in the correlation comparison method. The results are presented in a manner of successfulness of the correct recognition
Vibration Analysis of Heat Exchangers of a Nitric Acid Plant
This paper deals with an operational problem of two heat exchangers of the nitric acid synthesis plant. Detailed calculation and vibration analysis were made and vibration problem of the nitrous gases cooler E-111 was identified. When the vibration problem was indicated, several steps were taken for its removal. For five different types of baffles a study was made to determine how their number and spacing influence the cross-flow rate of the fluid. Results showed that the vibration problem cannot be removed completely, but it can be reduced considerably with different types of baffles. Also, the analysis showed that the cooling water condenser E-114 does not have a vibration problem
Analysis of Cooling Water Systems in a Petroleum Refinery
An important area in process integration is the development of methodologies to minimize water and energy use in industry. More than 20 % of the energy consumption in industry is associated with cooling and heating water. This paper presents analysis and optimization of a re-circulating cooling water system, with the aim to satisfy any supply conditions for the cooling tower. The part of the atmospheric crude oil distillation unit was chosen for analysis and synthesis of cooling water systems by the Kim and Smith design (KSD) method. The load of the cooling tower and the cost related to the cooling water system could be reduced by modifying the configuration of the heat exchanger network. In this paper, the KSD methodology for a developed heat exchanger network is expanded with the principle based on the heuristic algorithmic water sources diagram procedure (WSD) to synthesize the mass exchange network.
These procedures are advantageous compared with other methodologies since hand calculation is used, a very useful feature for process engineers. The cooling water network was synthesized, leading to a 40 % reduction in cooling tower load, and consequently, lower operating costs and water consumption
Measuring Electric Power Quality of Renewable Energy Sources
Over the past few years, the potential for building renewable energy sources has come to recognition in Slavonia, which resulted in building two new renewable energy sources in the area of HEP ODS Elektra Vinkovci. In this paper, we did the analysis of the electric power quality in these sources according to the HRN EN 50160:2008 norm. We measured quality with stationary measure terminal MT-20QL for a small biogas plant Farm Osatina in Ivankovo with installed power of 1MVA (generator 110 kV) and a portable measuring device Analyst 3Q produced by LEM company for the solar power plant Sikirevci, with installed power of 10 kVA. The results of our measurements were analyzed by using the corresponding software of the above mentioned measuring devices

Ovim radom pokuÅ”at Äe se omoguÄiti uvid u nastanak i razvoj osnovnog sustava/
