A contribution to the knowledge of the skin albuminose cells of Torpedo ocellata Raf [Riv.Istochim.norm.pat. 8 411-416, 1962]

Glandular cells, other than the mucous cells, have been described in the skin of various groups of fish (Teleosts, Ganoids, Selachii) and they have been called 'albuminose' by various authors. The authors propose to study the albuminose cells in the skin of Torpedo ocellata Raf. from a histochemical point of view. The albuminose cells have a complex morphological structure and a correspondingly complicated histochemical make-up. One must treat them as an example of cell with secretions of a particular type, which must and will be better incorporated when more is known of characteristics existent in other species

Polypyrrole-poly(epichlorohydrin-co-ethylene Oxide) Blend: An Electroactive, Electrochromic And Elastomeric Material

    Get PDF
We report on the preparation of an elastomeric blend with electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties similar to those of pure polypyrrole. The title elastomer used is an ionic conductor. Cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry experiments show the electroactivity of the blend. A transmittance contrast of 50% at 700 nm between the reduced and the oxidized forms of the blend is evidence of the pronounced electrochromism of the blend. Differential scanning calorimetry suggests an association of the guest conductive polymer with the ethylene oxide blocks of the rubber copolymer host. Stress-strain measurements show that the conductive polymer guest increases the rigidity and toughness of the elastomer host.4121799180

Landau parameters for isospin asymmetric nuclear matter based on a relativistic model of composite and finite extension nucleons

    Get PDF
We study the properties of cold asymmetric nuclear matter at high density, applying the quark meson coupling model with excluded volume corrections in the framework of the Landau theory of relativistic Fermi liquids. We discuss the role of the finite spatial extension of composite baryons on dynamical and statistical properties such as the Landau parameters, the compressibility, and the symmetry energy. We have also calculated the low lying collective eigenfrequencies arising from the collisionless quasiparticle transport equation, considering both unstable and stable modes. An overall analysis of the excluded volume correlations on the collective properties is performed.Comment: 24 pages, 6 figure
