A large-N approximated field theory for multipartite entanglement

We study the characterization of multipartite entanglement for the random states of an nn-qbit system. Unable to solve the problem exactly we generalize it, changing complex numbers into real vectors with NcN_c components (the original problem is recovered for Nc=2N_c=2). Studying the leading diagrams in the large-NcN_c approximation, we unearth the presence of a phase transition and, in an explicit example, show that the so-called entanglement frustration disappears in the large-NcN_c limit.Comment: 12 pages, 15 figure

A framework for trustworthiness assessment based on fidelity in cyber and physical domains

Get PDF
We introduce a method for the assessment of trust for n-open systems based on a measurement of fidelity and present a prototypical implementation of a complaint architecture. We construct a MAPE loop which monitors the compliance between corresponding figures of interest in cyber- and physical domains; derive measures of the system's trustworthiness; and use them to plan and execute actions aiming at guaranteeing system safety and resilience. We conclude with a view on our future work

Invariant measures on multimode quantum Gaussian states

We derive the invariant measure on the manifold of multimode quantum Gaussian states, induced by the Haar measure on the group of Gaussian unitary transformations. To this end, by introducing a bipartition of the system in two disjoint subsystems, we use a parameterization highlighting the role of nonlocal degrees of freedom -- the symplectic eigenvalues -- which characterize quantum entanglement across the given bipartition. A finite measure is then obtained by imposing a physically motivated energy constraint. By averaging over the local degrees of freedom we finally derive the invariant distribution of the symplectic eigenvalues in some cases of particular interest for applications in quantum optics and quantum information.Comment: 17 pages, comments are welcome. v2: presentation improved and typos corrected. A model for trustworthy orchestration in the internet of things

Embedded systems such as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are typically designed as a network of multiple interacting elements with physical input (or sensors) and output (or actuators). One aspect of interest of open systems is fidelity, or the compliance between physical figures of interest and their internal representation. High fidelity is defined as a stable mapping between actions in the physical domain and intended or expected values in the system domain and deviations from fidelity are quantifiable over time by some appropriate informative variable. In this paper, we provide a model for designing such systems based on a framework for trustworthiness monitoring and we provide a Jason implementation to evaluate the feasibility of our approach. In particular, we build a bridge between a standard publish/subscribe framework for CPS called MQTT and Jason to enable automatic reasoning about trustworthines

La ricezione della letteratura russa per l’infanzia in Italia (1900-2017)

The article investigates the history of reception of Russian children’s literature in Italy from 1900 until 2017. It includes a large corpus of volumes that represents a starting point for further research in this field. The analysis of the books, including their paratextual elements – such as book covers and frontispieces – gives the chance to put forward some considerations: first, Russian children’s literature has continuously been translated in Italy through- out the XX and the beginning of XXI century, though it has been less relevant than other foreign children’s literatures; indeed, a significant number of important Russian authors and works is still missing on the Italian bookshelves. Second, the two genres that have been mostly translated into Italian are: the fairy tales and the texts of classics – such as Pushkin, Chekhov or Tolstoy. Third, the Bibliography has shown that, despite the tight connection and the influence of Soviet Union on Italy during the post-war period until 1990s, no relevant ideological marks have been left on the selection of the texts to be translated
