Self-Duality and the KdV Hierarchy
We derive the entire KdV hierarchy as well as the recursion relations from
the self-duality condition on gauge fields in four dimensions.Comment: 7 page
Self-duality and the Supersymmetric KdV Hierarchy
We show how the supersymmetric KdV equation can be obtained from the
self-duality condition on Yang-Mills fields in four dimension associated with
the graded Lie algebra OSp(2/1). We also obtain the hierarchy of Susy KdV
equations from such a condition. We formulate the Susy KdV hierarchy as a
vanishing curvature condition associated with the U(1) group and show how an
Abelian self-duality condition in four dimension can also lead to these
equations.Comment: 10 page
On the Kinetic Roughening in Polymer Film Growth by Vapor Deposition
This is a Comment on a recent publication: Y.-P. Zhao et al., Phys. Rev.
Lett. 85, 3229 (2000). In the Letter, the authors report on an experimental
investigation of polymeric (p-xylene) thin film growth and propose a new
universality class not previously known. Here, we point out that the critical
exponents reported in the Letter are consistent with the critical exponents of
Das Sarma-Tamborenea growth model.Comment: 2 pages, 1 figure include
Final-State Interaction as the Origin of the Cronin Effect
Instead of adhering to the usual explanation of the Cronin effect in terms of
the broadening of the parton transverse momentum in the initial state, we show
that the enhancement of hadron production at moderate in d+Au collisions
is due to the recombination of soft and shower partons in the final state. Such
a mechanism can readily explain the decrease of the Cronin effect with
increasing rapidity. Furthermore, the effect should be larger for protons than
for pions.Comment: 4 RevTeX pages including 3 figures and 1 table; Some notational

Structure of potentials with Higgs doublets
Extensions of the Standard Model with Higgs doublets are simple
extensions presenting a rich mathematical structure. An underlying Minkowski
structure emerges from the study of both variable space and parameter space.
The former can be completely parametrized in terms of two future lightlike
Minkowski vectors with spatial parts forming an angle whose cosine is
. For the parameter space, the Minkowski parametrization enables
one to impose sufficient conditions for bounded below potentials, characterize
certain classes of local minima and distinguish charge breaking vacua from
neutral vacua. A particular class of neutral minima presents a degenerate mass
spectrum for the physical charged Higgs bosons.Comment: 11 pages. Revtex4. Typos corrected. Few comments adde
Specific heat at constant volume in the thermodynamic model
A thermodynamic model for multifragmentation which is frequently used appears
to give very different values for specific heat at constant volume depending
upon whether canonical or grand canonical ensemble is used. The cause for this
discrepancy is analysed.Comment: Revtex, 7 pages including 4 figure
