The study of biological diversity requires a thorough inventory of all groups of organisms, including destructors, among which fungi play a significant role. Discomycetes, a group of orders of fungi of the Ascomycota phylum, require close attention from researchers due to their low level of knowledge. The paper proposes an approach to automating the process of inventory of representatives of this group of orders and presents a prototype of a software package that allows one to identify the presence of fruit bodies of discomycetes in photographs taken in the natural habitat. A feature of the proposed solution is the application of the k-means clustering method, the use of scaled histograms to determine the presence of an image of the fruit body of Discomycetes in this image, and the prospects for using this tool in machine learning are described using neural networks

Surfactant Effect on the Physicochemical Characteristics of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles Based on Pillar[5]arenes

    No full text
Novel monosubstituted pillar[5]arenes containing both amide and carboxyl functional groups were synthesized. Solid lipid nanoparticles based on the synthesized macrocycles were obtained. Formation of spherical particles with an average hydrodynamic diameter of 250 nm was shown for pillar[5]arenes containing N-(amidoalkyl)amide fragments regardless of their concentration. It was established that pillar[5]arene containing N-alkylamide fragments can form spherical particles with two different sizes (88 and 223 nm) depending on its concentration. Mixed solid lipid nanoparticles based on monosubstituted pillar[5]arenes and surfactant (dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride) were obtained for the first time. The surfactant made it possible to level the effect of the macrocycle concentration. It was found that various types of aggregates are formed depending on the macrocycle/surfactant ratio. Changing the macrocycle/surfactant ratio allows to control the charge of the particles surface. This controlled property will lead to the creation of molecular-scale porous materials that selectively interact with various types of substrates, including biopolymers

STUDY OF MICRONUTRIENTS INTAKE IN PATIENTS WITH VARIOUS THYROID DISEASES

    No full text
The study design included several groups of patients, who were divided according various thyroid diseases. A comparative study of trace element values (copper, selenium, magnesium and zinc) in nails was performed. Low median selenium content, suggesting its low consumption, has been observed in all groups of the study. The level of selenium intake may be characterized as severe deficit. Moreover, most patients included in the study have reported mild deficits of manganese and copper intake and a moderate zinc deficiency
