This is the report of a livelihoods study team working together with villagers from Dang Tong Village in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. The study of the livelihoods of farmers and fishers is based on information provided by the villagers of Dang Tong, who shared their knowledge and raised real problems related to their livelihoods. Exile: Rupture and Continuity in Jean Vanmai's Chan Dang and Fils de Chan Dang

This essay focuses on the work of the New Caledonian-born writer Jean Vanmai. His first two novels, Chan Dang and Fils de Chan Dang, describe the working conditions and exilic existence of the little known Chan Dang, the voluntary workers from Tonkin (North Vietnam) who moved to New Caledonia many decades ago. Descended himself from a Chan Dang family, Vanmai wishes to preserve the memory of the Chan DangDang’s past. In writing the story of the Chan Dang, Vanmai sees himself as the guardian of the Chan Dang’s collective memory, a keeper and defender of their common past. The paper argues that Vanmai's depictions of the Chan Dang have two important effects. First, by sharing with other Vietnamese migrants/refugees the life and experiences of the Tonkinese voluntary workers in New Caledonia, Vanmai breaks the silence surrounding colonial exile and exploitation and provides a full account of the Chan Dang’s exile that can be integrated into the contemporary history of Vietnamese migration. Second, by using different narrative resolutions for each of his protagonists, Vanmai stresses the need to fulfil one’s filial duty among the young Vietnamese generations. With this symbolic filial act, Vanmai pays homage to his Vietnamese ancestors and earns himself a honourable title, that of a true dutiful "son of Chan Dang"

Diffusion coefficient and shear viscosity of rigid water models

We report the diffusion coefficient and viscosity of popular rigid water models: Two non polarizable ones (SPC/E with 3 sites, and TIP4P/2005 with 4 sites) and a polarizable one (Dang-Chang, 4 sites). We exploit the dependence of the diffusion coefficient on the system size [Yeh and Hummer, J. Phys. Chem. B 108, 15873 (2004)] to obtain the size-independent value. This also provides an estimate of the viscosity of all water models, which we compare to the Green-Kubo result. In all cases, a good agreement is found. The TIP4P/2005 model is in better agreement with the experimental data for both diffusion and viscosity. The SPC/E and Dang-Chang water overestimate the diffusion coefficient and underestimate the viscosity.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figures. To be published in J. Phys.: Condens. Matte

SIC-POVMs and MUBs: Geometrical Relationships in Prime Dimension

The paper concerns Weyl-Heisenberg covariant SIC-POVMs (symmetric informationally complete positive operator valued measures) and full sets of MUBs (mutually unbiased bases) in prime dimension. When represented as vectors in generalized Bloch space a SIC-POVM forms a d^2-1 dimensional regular simplex (d being the Hilbert space dimension). By contrast, the generalized Bloch vectors representing a full set of MUBs form d+1 mutually orthogonal d-1 dimensional regular simplices. In this paper we show that, in the Weyl-Heisenberg case, there are some simple geometrical relationships between the single SIC-POVM simplex and the d+1 MUB simplices. We go on to give geometrical interpretations of the minimum uncertainty states introduced by Wootters and Sussman, and by Appleby, Dang and Fuchs, and of the fiduciality condition given by Appleby, Dang and Fuchs.Comment: Contribution to the Conference "Foundations of Probability and Physics-5", Vaxjo, 200

TERBENTUKNYA GERAKAN ANTI-FEMINISME DI KOREA SELATAN: STUDI KASUS MEN ON SOLIDARITY DAN DANG DANG WE

The formation of a social movement often produces other movements that reverse or oppose the initial social movement itself. Likewise with the existence of anti-feminism which is the antithesis of feminism. South Korea as a country with a striking trend of anti-feminism is worth studying. Starting from the spread of Confucianism, which often intersects with feminist thought, it is then supported by the perpetuation of gender-biased government policies to this day, which seems to allow anti-feminism movement groups like Men on Solidarity and Dang Dang We to continue to grow. This article was written with the aim of seeing how the anti-feminist movement was formed in South Korea with case studies of the Men on Solidarity and Dang Dang We. The conceptual theory used in this research is the concept of collective identity and anti-feminism. Qualitative descriptive methods were also used in this research. It was found that the Dang Dang We and Men on Solidarity groups were formed because key aspects of collective identity were fulfilled

Dang., Gloeocapsa magma (Brèb.) Kütz., Nodularia harveiana Thur., Scenedesmus obliquus (Turpin) Kütz., Euglena polymorpha P.A. Dang., E. sanguinea Ehrenb. и др.The species composition of soil algae in greenhouse soils are investigated. The algoflora is represented by 109 species and intraspecific taxa. Cyanophyta dominated (56 %) from all discovered species. In comparison with open soils, the algoflora of greenhouse soils is rich in hydrophylous species such as Chlamydomonas reinhardtii P.A.
