    Get PDF
The current estimated market share for green consumption is less than five percent worldwide, therefore it is very important to understand the factors that stimulate non green consumption among young consumers since this can promote environmental thinking at an early age and also to increase the demand for green products. In these circumstances, emerging countries like India have contributed very less to the consumption of green products and environmental effects. India is among the fastest growing economies in the world. With the increase in population as well as in disposable income, India is expected to see a growth in green consumption. However, that does not seem to be the case. Although, consumption of products is widely prevalent in India and has been growing steadily over the years, the same is not seen with regards to green products in particular. The present paper attempts to investigate the factors for less consumption of green products in the emerging market of India. 31 college students aged 21-25 years participated in the study. An unstructured interview technique was employed to find out the reasons for less consumption of green products among young Indian consumers. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Four main themes namely incomprehension, extortionate, limited product range and non-availability emerged out of the study. The implications of these results for policy makers are discussed at the end of the paper

    Get PDF
Diabetes mellitus (Madhumeha) is a group of metabolic diseases marked by high level of blood glucose resulting from defects in insulin production, insulin action or both. Diabetes may lead to serious complications in multiple organ systems. Ayurvedic literatures vividly describe about the etiology, pathogenesis, prognosis, complications, its management and scientifically attributed the causal relationship of dietary, lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors. The treatment modalities are designed and recommended based on type and stage of disease. Furthermore many classical references to use dosage forms of single plant drugs and compound formulations, which are vogue in clinical practice call for further scientific validation for their attributes, principles and extent of use. Despite of recent progression in medical science, several challenges still exist in the management of diabetes that requires special attention to develop unexplored fields of medical knowledge. Ayurveda offers comprehensive safe and effective approaches to manage such conditions. Designing pertinent research model is a key challenge behind the examination of safety and efficacy of Ayurvedic interventions satisfying its fundamental principles and systems approach. Here is a single case study representing the role of Ayurveda in treating Madhumeha

This study portrays the extent of Domestic Child Labour (DCL) Students and mathematics learning at primary level mathematics. It concentrates on the specific themes of emerging research questions such as situation of learning environment to the DCL students, and influencing factors that affect the learning of DCL students in learning mathematics. In dealing with these research questions, I used qualitative design and interpretive paradigm. I explored that they took mathematics as a difficult subject in comparison to others. They were more interested in mathematics than non DCL students but felt difficulty in learning due to the lack of pre-knowledge and less time to practise at home. They felt more comfortable in school than at home. Non DCL students were co-operative to DCL students in class. Questions and responses were common among students and teachers. There was equal participation in class work, group discussion but were irregular in home work. DCL students faced more difficulties in homework than in class work. The major factors affecting the learning of DCL students were: economic condition of the family, size of family, bad attitude of house owner, heavy work load, unavailability of books and stationeries, discipline of the class, different traditions and cultures and pre- knowledge

Many herbal and herbo-mineral formulations are mentioned as treatment of infertility in the ancient texts, but they are not categorized according to the responsible factor of infertility. It is need of the hour to evaluate the efficacy of formulations with respect to various factors . With the above aim a clinical study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Phalaghrita Uttarbasti on cervical factor i.e scanty cervical mucus. For clinical trial total 7 patients were selected for this study. Intracervical Uttarbasti of Phalaghrita (3 ml) was administered in every sitting for 6 days after end day of menses subsequently for two cycles. Sims-Huhner and Moghissi cervical mucus Test and post coital test were selected for the diagnosis and for evaluation of efficacy of therapy on cervical factor. Statistically highly significant result were found on spinnbarkeit(p<0.01). and significant result were found in amount and viscosity(p<0.05) and insignificant result were found in cellularity, and ferning (p>0.1). Hence, in nutshell it was concluded that Phalaghrita Uttarbasti showed good results in all the properties of cervical mucus

Renal disorders are becoming more common in Indian population. Either due to frequent use of nephrotoxic drugs like NSAID, due to chronic persistent metabolic and life style disorders like DM and Hypertension the incidence of CRF has been raised. Chronic Renal Failure is defined as chronic, persistent progressive and irreversible loss of renal function with increased BUN. This disorder is common after 50 years of age. Uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension often leads to CRF. The disease usually presents with loss of appetite, increased or decreased micturition, severe hypertension and anaemia. Ayurveda treatment can be better used for improving the renal function and postponing the need for dialysis. In Ayurveda, dietatics, haematenics, antihypertensives, sedatives, calcium suppliments, Rasayana drugs are commonly used in tbe management of this disease. Varunadi Kwatha, Chandraprabha Vati, Muniprabha Tablets, Punarnavadi Mandoora, Trinapanchamoola Kwatha, Gokshuradi Guggulu and Godanti Bhasma are commonly used. By Ayurveda treatment, renal function can be improved with associated increase in haemoglobin, Rasayana effect, correction of calcium metabolism and improving the strength of the patient. The present paper highlights the role of Ayurveda treatment in the management of CRF patients
