On Bose-Einstein condensate inside moving exciton-phonon droplets
We explore a nonlinear field model to describe the interplay between the
ability of excitons to be Bose condensed and their interaction with other modes
of a crystal. We apply our consideration to the long-living paraexcitons in
Cu2O. Taking into account the exciton-phonon interaction and introducing a
coherent phonon part of the moving condensate, we solve quasi-stationary
equations for the exciton-phonon condensate. These equations support localized
solutions, and we discuss the conditions for the inhomogeneous condensate to
appear in the crystal. Allowable values of the characteristic width of
ballistic condensates are estimated. The stability conditions of the moving
condensate are analyzed by use of Landau arguments, and Landau critical
parameters appear in the theory. It follows that, under certain conditions, the
condensate can move through the crystal as a stable droplet. To separate the
coherent and non-coherent parts of the exciton-phonon packet, we suggest to
turn off the phonon wind by the changes in design of the 3D crystal and
boundary conditions for the moving droplet.Comment: 13 pages, LaTeX, three eps figures are incorporated by epsf.

Generalizations of Poisson Structures Related to Rational Gaudin Model
The Poisson structure arising in the Hamiltonian approach to the rational Gaudin model looks very similar to the so-called modified Reflection Equation Algebra. Motivated by this analogy, we realize a braiding of the mentioned Poisson structure, i.e. we introduce a ”braided Poisson” algebra associated with an involutive solution to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Also, we exhibit another generalization of the Gaudin type Poisson structure by replacing the first derivative in the current parameter, entering the so-called local form of this structure, by a higher order derivative. Finally, we introduce a structure, which combines both generalizations. Some commutative families in the corresponding braided Poisson algebra are found
Bose-Einstein Condensation of Excitons: Reply to Tikhodeev's Criticism
The extended version of our reply to Comment on ``Critical Velocities in
Exciton Superfluidity'' by S. G. Tikhodeev (Phys. Rev. Lett., 84 (2000), 3502
or from http://prl.aps.org/) is presented here. The principal question is
discussed: does the moving exciton-phonon packet contain the coherent
`nucleus', or the exciton-phonon condensate?Comment: 3 pages in LaTe
On Critical Velocities in Exciton Superfluidity
The presence of exciton phonon interactions is shown to play a key role in
the exciton superfluidity. We apply the Landau criterion for an exciton-phonon
condensate moving uniformly at zero temperature. It turns out that there are
essentially two critical velocities in the theory. Within the range of these
velocities the condensate can exist only as a bright soliton. The excitation
spectrum and differential equations for the wave function of this condensate
are derived.Comment: 7 pages, Latex; to be published in Phys.Rev.Lett (1997
Bosons in a Lattice: Exciton-Phonon Condensate in Cu2O
We explore a nonlinear field model to describe the interplay between the
ability of excitons to be Bose-condensed and their interaction with other modes
of a crystal. We apply our consideration to the long-living para-excitons in
Cu2O. Taking into account the exciton-phonon interaction and introducing a
coherent phonon part of the moving condensate, we derive the dynamic equations
for the exciton-phonon condensate. These equations can support localized
solutions, and we discuss the conditions for the moving inhomogeneous
condensate to appear in the crystal. We calculate the condensate wave function
and energy, and a collective excitation spectrum in the semiclassical
approximation; the inside-excitations were found to follow the asymptotic
behavior of the macroscopic wave function exactly. The stability conditions of
the moving condensate are analyzed by use of Landau arguments, and Landau
critical parameters appear in the theory. Finally, we apply our model to
describe the recently observed interference and strong nonlinear interaction
between two coherent exciton-phonon packets in Cu2O.Comment: 34 pages, LaTeX, four figures (.ps) are incorporated by epsf.

О распределении огибающей и фазы смеси сигнала и негауссовой помехи
For a mixture of a signal and non-Gaussian interference with arbitrary distribution law, a method of determining the envelope and phase probability densities is given. Efficiency of the proposed methods is illustrated by examples. In the case of a large signal-to-interference ratio it is shown that the distribution of the envelope for a mixture of signal and inter-ference coincides with the distribution of instantaneous value of interference shifted by a value of signal amplitude for an arbitrary distribution of interference.
