Invariances in variance estimates
We provide variants and improvements of the Brascamp-Lieb variance inequality
which take into account the invariance properties of the underlying measure.
This is applied to spectral gap estimates for log-concave measures with many
symmetries and to non-interacting conservative spin systems
Soliton Stability in a Generalized Sine-Gordon Potential
We study stability of a generalized sine-Gordon model with two coupled scalar
fields in two dimensions. Topological soliton solutions are found from the
first-order equations that solve the equations of motion. The perturbation
equations can be cast in terms of a Schrodinger-like operators for fluctuations
and their spectra are calculated
The (B) conjecture for uniform measures in the plane
We prove that for any two centrally-symmetric convex shapes , the function is log-concave. This
extends a result of Cordero-Erausquin, Fradelizi and Maurey in the two
dimensional case. Possible relaxations of the condition of symmetry are
discussed.Comment: 10 page
Obfuscation-based malware update: A comparison of manual and automated methods
Indexación: Scopus; Web of Science. This research presents a proposal of malware classification and its update based on capacity and obfuscation. This article is an extension of [4]a, and describes the procedure for malware updating, that is, to take obsolete malware that is already detectable by antiviruses, update it through obfuscation techniques and thus making it undetectable again. As the updating of malware is generally performed manually, an automatic solution is presented together with a comparison from the standpoint of cost and processing time. The automated method proved to be more reliable, fast and less intensive in the use of resources, specially in terms of antivirus analysis and malware functionality checking times.http://univagora.ro/jour/index.php/ijccc/article/view/2961/112
Anelastic spectroscopy study of the spin-glass and cluster spin-glass phases of LaSrCuO
The anelastic spectra of LaSrCuO have been measured at
liquid He temperatures slightly below and above the concentration which is considered to separate the spin-glass phase from the
cluster spin-glass (CSG) phase. For all the elastic energy loss
functions show a step below the temperature of freezing into
the CSG state, similarly to what found in samples well within the CSG phase,
but with a smaller amplitude. The excess dissipation in the CSG state is
attributed to the motion of the domain walls between the clusters of
antiferromagnetically correlated spin. These results are in agreement with the
recent proposal, based on inelastic neutron scattering, of an electronic phase
separation between regions with and , at least for

Supertubes versus superconducting tubes
In this paper we show the relationship between cylindrical D2-branes and
cylindrical superconducting membranes described by a generic effective action
at the bosonic level. In the first case the extended objects considered, arose
as blown up type IIA superstrings to D2-branes, named supertubes. In the second
one, the cosmological objects arose from some sort of field theories. The
Dirac-Born-Infeld action describing supertubes is shown to be equivalent to the
generic effective action describing superconducting membranes via a special
transformation.Comment: Version with minor text changes with respect to the already publishe
