    Egg Production and Physical Quality in Cortunix Cortunix Japonica Fed Diet Containing Piperine as Phytogenic Feed Additive

    The objective of this study was to determine the effect of piperine as a phytogenic feed additive on quail performances and egg quality. The experiment used a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replications and used ten quails with one week of age in each replication. The piperine was added to the diets at concentrations of 0 (T0), 15 (T1), 30 (T2), 45 (T3), and 60 mg/kg body weight (T4) for 8 consecutive weeks. The results showed that addition of 60 mg/kg body weight (T4) of piperine significantly (P<0.05) reduced feed consumption, egg production, egg mass, income over feed cost (IOFC), and increased water consumption as compared to the other treatments. The addition of 15-60 mg piperine/kg body weight significantly (P<0.05) reduced eggshell weight and increased egg yolk color score. The conclusion of this experiment was that the addition of piperine at 15-45 mg/kg body weight could be used as phytogenic feed additive to improve performance, IOFC, haugh unit, and yolk color

    Substrat serbuk kayu gergaji harus bebas polutan dan mempunyai kadar air 65-70% untuk mendukung pertumbuhan optimal miselium dan hasil maksimal jamur tiram. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan lama perendaman bahan baku serbuk kayu gergaji (SKG) yang optimal untuk perbaikan produksi bobot jamur tiram. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah dengan tiga ulangan. Petak utama adalah spesies jamur tiram, yaitu Pleurotus sayor-caju, P. flabellatus, P. cystuidiosus, P. ostreatus strain florida, dan P. pulmonarius strain sylvan 301. Anak petak yaitu waktu perendaman substrat SKG, yaitu 0, 3, 6, 9, dan 12 jam. Penelitian dilakukan di Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang, Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P. ostreatus strain florida dan P. sayor-caju masing-masing menghasilkan bobot jamur segar tertinggi (970,27 dan 942,26 g/kg substrat basah). Efisiensi biologis tertinggi berasal dari P. cystidiosus (48,84%) dan P. sayor-caju (43,74%) yang dibudidayakan pada substrat SKG yang direndam selama 12 jam. Improving oyster mushrooms production technology by dipping time variation of sawdust medium. Sawdust as main raw material of substrate must be free from pollutant with its water content of 65-70%, to obtain high yield of oyster mushrooms. The goal of this experiment was to gain the optimum dipping time of sawdust as growing media to improve oyster mushrooms yield. A split plot design was arranged with three replications. Main plot was oyster mushrooms species of Pleurotus sayor-caju, P. flabellatus, P. cystuidiosus, P. ostreatus strain florida, and P. pulmonarius strain sylvan 301. Subplot was dipping time of sawdust of 0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 hours, respectively. Research activities was carried out at Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute Lembang, West Jawa. Research results revealed that P. ostreatus strain florida and P. sayor-caju independently produced the highest yield, viz: 970.27 and 942.26 g/kg wet substrate. The highest values of biological efficiency were found from P. cystuidiosus (48.84%) and P. sayor-caju (43.74%) cultivated on the substrate with 12 hours dipping time. Sawdust must be dipped at least for 6 hours prior to set up substrate formula in order to catch sufficient water content (65-70%) for better growth of mycelium and finally produce high yield of oyster mushrooms

    IT Consultants are in the need of knowledge resources from experts who have either tacit, implicit, or explicit. Hence, a system that is able to manage knowledge (Knowledge Management/KM) is required. Along with success stories and failure experienced by many organizations in the implementation of KM system, it indicates that there should be factors that have roles in determining the successes of KM implementation. These factors are highly related to the readiness of the institution or company. Therefore, before implementing KM, it is necessary to analyze the readiness of the institution or organization. Analysis of readiness is expected to give an overview to the management about the state of readiness and aspects related to the successful implementation of KM. This study aims to measure the readiness of KM implementation in IT division in one of the IT consultation firm. The measurement of readiness was based on the extraction results of previous studies from which seven research aspects are obtained to be analyzed. Those aspects are strategy, organization, culture, technology, motivation, process, and human resources. Data was collected by questionnaires while data analysis was performed using descriptive statistical analysis. The analysis showed that the overall implementation of KM in IT division reached a readiness level of 2.26 in implementing KM

    This study aims to determine the effect of using Hermetia illucens maggot in feed on the internal and external quality of broiler eggs.The study used 80 laying hens aged 6 months which were divided into 4 treatments, 5 replications and each replication consisted of 4 tails. The variables observed were the external quality of eggs (egg weight, egg shape index, shell thickness, egg shell weight) and internal eggs (egg white index, yolk index, egg Haugh units, egg yolk color). The data obtained were analyzed with a completely randomized design. The average results of egg weight ranged from 56.18 g/egg - 56.98 g/egg, egg shape index between 73.91-80.54%, egg shell thickness between 0.35 mm – 0.38 mm, weight egg shells between 6.97 g/egg - 7.15 g/egg . While the egg white index ranged from 0.10 to 0.14, the yolk index ranged from 0.39 to 0.45, the Haugh unit ranged from 84.50 to 99.30, the yolk color ranged from 8.50 to 10.60. It was concluded that the use of Hermetia Illucens maggot 5%, 10%, 15% in feed resulted in external and internal quality of chicken eggs in the normal range

    The Effect of Silkworm Pupae (Bombyx Mori) Meal to Substitute Fish Meal on Production and Physical Quality of Quail Eggs (Cortunix Cortunix Japonica)

    The aims of this study was to determine the effect of substitution of fish meal protein withsilkworm pupae (Bombyx mori) on quail performances and egg quality. The experiment was a completlyrandomized design (CDR) with four treatments and four replications and ten birds of each replication.The treatment diets were R0: diet contain 8% fish meal, without silkworm pupae (control), R1: dietcontain silkworm pupae subtituted of 25% fish meal protein, R2: diet contain silkworm pupae subtitutedof 50% fish meal, protein and R3: diet contain silkworm pupae subtituted of 75% fish meal protein. Theresults showed that substitution of 25% up to 75% significantly (P<0.05) reduced feed conversion ratio,significantly (P<0.05) increased egg production and did not affecting physical quality of quail eggs. Inconclusion, silkworm pupae can be used 25% up to 75% replacing protein fish meal

    There are various studies on AGP substitute feed additives that provide many options for solutions related to the problem of maintaining gut health. Therefore, it is necessary for a fundamental evaluation of the use of some feed additives on the response of livestock. The purpose of this engineering practice is to find best solution for growth promoter antibiotics (AGP) alternatives that can be effectively used in laying hens Farm. Trials of several probiotic and organic acid product supplementation were carried out on 21,000 laying hens of the HyLine Brown strain aged 50 weeks for 1 month. Tested products were protected probiotic powder (OGC), liquid probiotics (PBL) and liquid organic acids (APK), these products were evaluated based on production egg quality and cost feasibility studies. Data on egg production and egg quality&nbsp; were analyzed using ANOVA and then actually compared between treatments with Tukey's test (p&lt;0.05) and also compared based on production standards from producers/breeders. The trial results showed that the use of liquid probiotics (PBL) resulted in the highest egg production and egg weight, organic acid products (APK) resulted in higher distribution of large eggs and more efficient feed conversion, the use of protected probiotic powder (OGC) resulted in highest haugh unit. The economic feasibility study shows that organic acid products (APK) produce the highest return on investment value. The concluded showed that organic acid product (APK) will be effectively used in laying hens Farm.     This research aims to evaluate the relationship between the chemical composition of low alloy steel, temperature, and the mechanical properties of low alloy steel using Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques. The low alloy steel dataset is visualized using a correlation heat map, which shows a relationship between the mechanical properties of low alloy steel and its chemical composition and heat treatment temperature. Based on the results of the correlation heat map, an evaluation is carried out using scatterplots. The visualization results with scatterplots show a trend line indicating a linear relationship between YS and the elements V, Ni, and Mn, as well as a positive relationship between TS and V. In addition, there are determination coefficients (R²) that show how well the trend line can explain the variation of the data. The R² values obtained for V are 0.405, Ni is 0.226, Mn is 0.159, and Mo is 0.130, while El and RA have a positive correlation with temperature with R²values of 0.166 and 0.320, respectively. It can be concluded that the evaluation results using scatterplots and R² show that variations in chemical composition and heat treatment temperature affect the mechanical properties of low alloy steel. The correlations that occur between these variables can help in determining the pattern of the relationship and evaluating how well the trend line can explain the variation of the data. The use of correlation heat maps and scatter plots can help in decision-making and developing low-alloy steel materials that meet specific needs
