Error control in simplification before generation algorithms for symbolic analysis of large analogue circuits
Circuit reduction is a fundamental first step in addressing the symbolic analysis of large analogue circuits. A new algorithm for simplification before generation is presented which is very efficient in terms of speed and the amount of circuit reduction, and solves the accuracy problems of previously reported approaches
An error-controlled methodology for approximate hierarchical symbolic analysis
Limitations of existing approaches for symbolic analysis of large analog circuits are discussed. To address their solution, a new methodology for hierarchical symbolic analysis is introduced. The first report of South American edrioasteroids and the paleoecology and ontogeny of rhenopyrgid echinoderms
A new species of rhenopyrgid edrioasteroid Rhenopyrgus piojoensis sp. nov. is described form the Silurian (Lower Lud− low) Los Espejos Formation in the Precordillera of Argentina. This species is the first reported edrioasteroid from South America. Rhenopyrgids are widely distributed in Ordovician through Devonian deposits of most continents. Numerous juvenile specimens show that the general bodyplan is organized early in ontogeny and that the pedenculate zone lengthens with age. Phylogenetic analysis shows that rhenopyrgids are more closely related to edrioasterid edrioasteroids such as edrioblastoids and cyathocystids than to pyrgocystid isorophids.Fil: Sumrall, Colin D.. Deep into the Water Fountains: The case of IRAS 18043-2116
(Abridged) The formation of large-scale (hundreds to few thousands of AU)
bipolar structures in the circumstellar envelopes (CSEs) of post-Asymptotic
Giant Branch (post-AGB) stars is poorly understood. The shape of these
structures, traced by emission from fast molecular outflows, suggests that the
dynamics at the innermost regions of these CSEs does not depend only on the
energy of the radiation field of the central star. Deep into the Water
Fountains is an observational project based on the results of programs carried
out with three telescope facilities: The Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array
(JVLA), The Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA), and the Very Large
Telescope (SINFONI-VLT). Here we report the results of the observations towards
the WF nebula IRAS 180432116: Detection of radio continuum emission in the
frequency range 1.5GHz - 8.0GHz; HO maser spectral features and radio
continuum emission detected at 22GHz, and H ro-vibrational emission lines
detected at the near infrared. The high-velocity HO maser spectral
features, and the shock-excited H emission detected could be produced in
molecular layers which are swept up as a consequence of the propagation of a
jet-driven wind. Using the derived H column density, we estimated a
molecular mass-loss rate of the order of Myr. On the
other hand, if the radio continuum flux detected is generated as a consequence
of the propagation of a thermal radio jet, the mass-loss rate associated to the
outflowing ionized material is of the order of 10Myr.
The presence of a rotating disk could be a plausible explanation for the

Interaction Effects on the Magneto-optical Response of Magnetoplasmonic Dimers
The effect that dipole-dipole interactions have on the magneto-optical (MO)
properties of magnetoplasmonic dimers is theoretically studied. The specific
plasmonic versus magnetoplasmonic nature of the dimer's metallic components and
their specific location within the dimer plays a crucial role on the
determination of these properties. We find that it is possible to generate an
induced MO activity in a purely plasmonic component, even larger than that of
the MO one, therefore dominating the overall MO spectral dependence of the
system. Adequate stacking of these components may allow obtaining, for specific
spectral regions, larger MO activities in systems with reduced amount of MO
metal and therefore with lower optical losses. Theoretical results are
contrasted and confirmed with experiments for selected structures
Discriminating sources and preservation of organic matter in surface sediments from five Antarctic lakes in the Fildes Peninsula (King George Island) by lipid biomarkers and compound-specific isotopic analysis
Lakes are important paleoenvironmental archives retaining abundant information due to their typical high sedimentation rates and susceptibility to environmental changes. Here, we scrutinize the organic matter (OM) composition, origin and preservation state in surface sediments from five lakes in a remote, warming-sensitive, and poorly explored region partially covered by the retreating Collins Glacier in King George Island (Antarctica), the Fildes Peninsula. Lipid biomarkers of terrestrial origin (i.e. high-molecularweight n-alkanes, n-alkanoic acids, and n-alkanols; β-sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol) were detected in the five Fildes Lakes, with the smallest basin (i.e.,Meltwater) showing a particularly strongmoss imprint. Aquatic source indicators such as lowC/N and terrestrial over aquatic ratios (TAR), or less negative δ13C valueswere preferentially found in themid-sized lakes (i.e., Drake and Ionospheric). Sedimentary carbon in the larger lakes (i.e., Uruguay and Kitezh) displayed a largely biogenic origin (i.e., values of carbon preference index, CPI, ≫1), whereas the three lakes close to Collins Glacier (i.e., Drake, Meltwater, and Ionospheric) showed certain contribution from petrogenic sources (CPI ~ 1). The results suggest that the geochemical signature of the surface sediments in the five Fildes lakes is determined by factors such as the distance to the retreating Collins Glacier, the proximity to the coast, or the lake depth. This study illustrates the forensic interest of combining lipid biomarkers, compound-specific isotopic analysis, and bulk geochemistry to reconstruct paleoenvironments and study climate-sensitive regions

The topic is dealt with from the point of view of the library as a vehicle for cultural promotion and not just as an information source; besides, the existence and development of public libraries are linked to the social, political and cultural advance of our country and its population
