This paper is a part of systematic ecological-vegetational research into the forest vegetation of the Slavonian hill area, an exceptionally valuable site in the vegetation of the Republic of Croatia. Particular attention was paid to the presence of the species of the order Quercetalia pubescentis in the forest vegetation owing to the fact that they are a special and rare feature in continental forest ecosystems. A total of 123 relevĆ©s encompassing 12 forest communities were analysed. The analysis of the floral composition of forest communities of Po`ega hill area revealed as many as 213 species, of which 31 or 14.5 % belong to the order Quercetalia pubescentis in a sociological sense. The species from the order Quercetalia pubescentis encompass the warmest, southern, south-eastern and south-western positions in the upper parts of the slopes, the flat tops of ridges and crests, as well as the stands with lighter and drier conditions. In terms of physiognomy and sociology, the species of the order Quercetalia pubescentis give the most distinct characteristic to the community Lathyro-Quercetum petraeae. The number of species of the order Quercetalia pubescentis decreases considerably going from the west to east with the exception of the Požega hill area. A comparison of species occurring in certain areas shows that the western part differs from the eastern part, to which the hills of Požega belong. The spectrum of biological forms and the spectrum of floral geoelements were determined for each community. The results of the research broaden the perception of the number, distribution and importance of species of Quercetalia pubescentis order in the forest ecosystems of hills in the Pannonian plain

Hydrodesulfurization of light gas oil - kinetic determination in a batch reactor [Hidrodesulfurizacija lakog gasnog ulja - ispitivanje kinetike HDS u Ŕaržnom reaktoru]

The performed investigations were directed toward the analysis of the performance and activity of the fresh and regenerated Cyanamid HDS 20C catalyst in a laboratory batch reactor (2 dm3) for the HDS of the diesel fraction (light gas oil, LGO). Testing of the regenerated catalyst was performed with light gas oil (LGO) of different characteristics. The determined values of the reaction rate constant were compared to some published data in the literature for the HDS of specific sulfur compounds as well as the values of the activation energy. The rates of deactivation of the fresh and regenerated catalyst actually existed compared to some other results recently published in the literature. However, such an observed differences were not sufficient to derive a relation which could be used for the determination of the rate of catalyst deactivation

Mumps is an RNA virus that is a cause of the vaccine preventable disease, mumps. In clinical specimens and supernatants of the infected cell cultures its RNA is detectable by RT-PCR test. Advantages of RT-PCR are rapidity, specificity and sensitivity. Genetic characterization and genotyping are basis for molecular epidemiological surveillance of the wild type mumps virus. Mumps outbreaks are also detected in a highly vaccinated population. Molecular detection and characterization of wild and vaccine types of mumps virus has been performed in Croatia since the late nineties

Use of an economic metaphor for a usage of the computer aided logistic organization leads to motivating self-interested parties to achieve mutual satisfactory and efficient outcomes. Efficiency, in this sense, is maximized when redistributing the trade surplus leaves everyone at least as well as before. Simulation of economic aspects of transport logistic chain is currently under the way at Rijeka College of Maritime Studies. The system consisted of 24 different types of organizations and 103 different documents interchanged in the supply chain. The primary aspects were transaction costs and vertical integraĀ¬tion using electronic aided logistics and electronic documents. The paper introduces results of the research showing savings up to 1,2 % of GDP for any country. The savings have been calculated for each organisation type, showing it's structural position in the supply chain
