To what extent, in the novel ‘The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ by R. L. Stevenson, the good and evil sides of a man is brought to light by the external (social) and internal (psychological) factors and what are the results of this metamorphosis over the psychology of Dr. Jekyll?

Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh in 1850. Stevenson, besides his authorship, was also a well-known poet and a travel-writer. Today, Stevenson is among the authors whose novels are most translated to other languages in the world . ‘Stevenson's characters often prefer unknown hazards to everyday life of the Victorian society.’1 ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ by Robert Louis Stevenson, which is accepted as the best novel of the R. L. Stevenson, first published in 1886 and in a real short time sold nearly 40,000 copies in Britain. The mystery of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is revealed by the testimonies of Dr. Lanyon, Mr. Utterson, Mr. Enfield, and Poole(Jekyll's butler). One day, with the help of Dr. Jekyll’s will, Mr. Utterson (Jekyll's lawyer), finds out that a stranger, named as Mr. Hyde, is the heir of the Dr. Jekyll's heritage. Mr. Utterson first couldn’t realize the fact behind this weird situation despite his wide research about this stranger and conversations with his friend Dr. Jekyll. Quantum Jump from Singularity to Outside of Black Hole

Considering the role of black hole singularity in quantum evolution, a resolution to the firewall paradox is presented. It is emphasized that if an observer has the singularity as a part of his spacetime, then the semi-classical evolution would be non-unitary as viewed by him. Specifically, a free-falling observer inside the black hole would have a Hilbert space with non-unitary evolution; a quantum jump for particles encountering the singularity to outside of the horizon as late Hawking radiations. The non-unitariness in the jump resembles the one in collapse of wave function, but preserves entanglements. Accordingly, we elaborate the first postulate of black hole complementarity: freely falling observers who pass through the event horizon would have non-unitary evolution, while it does not have physically measurable effects for them. Besides, no information would be lost in the singularity. Taking the modified picture into account, the firewall paradox can be resolved, respecting No Drama. A by-product of our modification is that roughly half of the entropy of the black hole is released close to the end of evaporation in the shape of very hot Hawking radiation.Comment: 7 figures, v2 more comprehensive, v3 matches the published versio

The Nature Of Impulse Mechanısm: An Empırıcal Study For Turkey

The fundamental purpose of this paper is to identify the nature of impulse mechanism, from which random shocks to general price and income levels are generated. In recent business cycle literature, it is generally accepted that business cycles are triggered by random productivity and technology shocks. However, this approach can not explain the current degree of volatility of business cycle fluctuations. Especially, New Keynesian economists emphasized the influence of demand shocks under the assumption of nominal and real rigidities and some other market imperfections. Therefore, it is convenient to identify whether the shocks to the general prices and national income are on demand or supply side. It is shown in the paper that between the first quarter of 1987 and the fourth quarter of 2003 in Turkey, shocks to national income are mostly composed of shocks to demand factors. On the other hand, the shocks to cost factors influence the shocks to general price level more frequently than shocks to demand factors.fluctuations; business cycle; macro economics; supply demand shocks
