Ponašymu – the mixed language code of Těšín SilesiaThis article describes the development of the linguistic situation in the border region of Těšín Silesia throughout its history, with particular emphasis on the so-called ponašymu – a mixed language code used in the Czech part of the region. It is based on a random combination of forms of the traditional Těšín dialect with the standard Czech language and, to a lesser extent, elements borrowed from the Polish and Slovak languages and from neighbouring Moravian dialects. This article describes language ideologies that concern the codification of Silesian as one potential tool for its revitalisation. Among the greatest challenges in this context is the multiplicity of living local varieties. Praca opisuje występujący w czeskiej części Śląska Cieszyńskiego język mieszany nazywany "ponašymu", który powstał z nałożenia się standardowego języka czeskiego na tradycyjny śląski dialekt cieszyński przy wpływie języka polskiego i słowackiego. Składa się z części teoretycznej oraz praktycznej, gdzie analizie językoznawczej poddane zostały nagrania pozyskane w trakcie prowadzonych przez autora badań terenowych w latach 2018-2019.The work describes a mixed language existing in the Czech part of Cieszyn Silesia called "ponašymu", which arose from the imposition of the standard Czech language on the traditional Silesian dialect of Cieszyn with the influence of Polish and Slovak.
