On the Structure of Sequentially Generalized Cohen-Macaulay Modules

Get PDF
A finitely generated module MM over a local ring is called a sequentially generalized Cohen-Macaulay module if there is a filtration of submodules of MM: M0M1...Mt=MM_0\subset M_1\subset ... \subset M_t=M such that dimM0<dimM1<>...<dimMt\dim M_0<\dim M_1< >... <\dim M_t and each Mi/Mi1M_i/M_{i-1} is generalized Cohen-Macaulay. The aim of this paper is to study the structure of this class of modules. Many basic properties of these modules are presented and various characterizations of sequentially generalized Cohen-Macaulay property by using local cohomology modules, theory of multiplicity and in terms of systems of parameters are given. We also show that the notion of dd-sequences defined in \cite{cc} is an important tool for studying this class of modules.Comment: 28 page

This paper presents an avoid deadlock resource allocation (ADRA) for model V VM-out-of-N PM since cloud computing is a new computing paradigm composed of grid computing, distributed computing and utility concepts. Cloud computing presents a different resource allocation paradigm than either grids or distributed systems. Cloud service providers dynamically scale virtualized computing resources as a service over the internet. Due to variable number of users and limited resources, cloud is prone to deadlock at very large scale. Resource allocation and the associated deadlock avoidance is problem originated in the design and the implementation of the distributed computing, grid computing. In this paper, a new concept of free space cloud is proposed to avoid deadlock by collecting available free resource from all allocated users. New algorithms are developed for allocating multiple resources to competing services running in virtual machines on a heterogeneous distributed platform. An experiment is tested in CloudSim. The performance of resource pool manager is evaluated by using CloudSim and resource utilization and indicating good results

Assessing the Determinants of Customer Satisfaction in Major Supermarkets in Vietnam

Get PDF
This study attempts to identify the determinants of customer satisfaction in major supermarkets in Vietnam. The sample size includes 250 responses collected by convenient method at supermarkets in Vietnam. The SERVQUAL model is employed and Exploratory Factors Analysis is utilised as research design. The results confirm that customer satisfaction is positively influenced by tangibility, empathy, responsiveness, assurance and reliablity. The strongest determinant of customer satisfaction is responsiveness (β=0.261). From these findings, some recommendations for Vietnamese supermarkets to improve their customer satisfaction were proposed

The Determinants of the Choices of Payment Methods for Goods and Services Transaction in Vietnam

Get PDF
The main objective of this study is to determine the main factors that have influences on customers’ decision to choose their payment methods. The research model applied in this study is Theory of Reasoned Action. The paper investigates 400 respondents in Vietnam to find out the determinants of their choice of payment methods. The implications from this study is expected to help financial service providers to improve the rate of using modern payment methods and improve customer satisfaction on the quality of payment services

An Effective PSO-inspired Algorithm for Workflow Scheduling

Get PDF
The Cloud is a computing platform that provides on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable resources such as networks, servers and storage that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort from clients. At its core, Cloud computing focuses on maximizing the effectiveness of the shared resources. Therefore, workflow scheduling is one of the challenges that the Cloud must tackle especially if a large number of tasks are executed on geographically distributed servers. This entails the need to adopt an effective scheduling algorithm in order to minimize task completion time (makespan). Although workflow scheduling has been the focus of many researchers, a handful efficient solutions have been proposed for Cloud computing. In this paper, we propose the LPSO, a novel algorithm for workflow scheduling problem that is based on the Particle Swarm Optimization method. Our proposed algorithm not only ensures a fast convergence but also prevents getting trapped in local extrema. We ran realistic scenarios using CloudSim and found that LPSO is superior to previously proposed algorithms and noticed that the deviation between the solution found by LPSO and the optimal solution is negligible

Epoxy resin DER 671X75 was reinforced by nanoclay cloisite 30B with content of 2% and primer coatings based on epoxy resin DER 671X75 were formed with pigments, fillers. Epoxy coating films were exposed by electrochemical method in NaCl 3.5 % solution in 28 days and salt spray accelerated tester in 330 hrs. The results show that nanoclay cloisite 30B are improved anticorrosion properties of primer coatings based on epoxy resin DER671X75. Keywords.
