    AbstractAbandoned chemical weapons (ACW) by the Japanese Army in China belong to old chemical weapons, which were produced in World WarII, buried underground or underwater. There are significant differences between old chemical weapons and chemical weapons in stock. The aim of the paper is the investigation and study on the disposal and destruction of ACW. We present the methods how to recognize and identify ACW, how to distinguish what kind of chemical warfare agents inside it. Its destruction principle and basic program of ACW, the operation technological processes for destruction of yellow munitions, red munitions, irregular munitions, contaminated solid material and water, other wastewater are specially emphasized

    Design, synthesis, and biological activity of novel heptacyclic pyrazolamide derivatives : a new candidate of dual-target insect growth regulators

    Insect growth regulators (IGRs) can cause abnormal growth and development in insects, resulting in incomplete metamorphosis or even death of the larvae. Ecdysone receptor (EcR) and chitinase in insects play indispensable roles in the molting process. Ecdysone analogues and chitinase inhibitors are considered as potential IGRs. In order to find new and highly effective IGR candidates, based on the structure-activity relationship and molecular docking results of the active compound 6i (3-(tert-butyl)-N-(4-(tert-butyl)phenyl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxamide) discovered in our previous work, we changed the t-butyl group on the pyrazole ring into heptacycle to enhance the hydrophobicity. Consequently, a series of novel heptacyclic pyrazolamide derivatives were designed and synthesized. The bioassay results demonstrated that some compounds showed obvious insecticidal activity. Especially, D-27 (N-(4-(tert-butyl)phenyl)-2-phenyl-2,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydrocyclohepta[c]pyrazole-5-carboxamide) showed good activities against Plutella xylostella (LC50, 51.50 mg.L-1) and Mythimna separata (100% mortality at 2.5 mg.L-1). Furthermore, protein validation indicated that D-27 acts not only on the EcR but also on chitinase Of ChtI. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation explained the vital factors in the interaction between D-27 and receptors. D-27 may be a new lead candidate with a dual target in which Of ChtI shall be the main one. This work created a new starting point for discovering a novel type of IGRs

    Automated Detection of High-Frequency Oscillations in Epilepsy Based on a Convolutional Neural Network

    Epilepsy is one of the most common chronic neurological diseases. High-frequency oscillations (HFOs) have emerged as promising biomarkers for the epileptogenic zone. However, visual marking of HFOs is a time-consuming and laborious process. Several automated techniques have been proposed to detect HFOs, yet these are still far from being suitable for application in a clinical setting. Here, ripples and fast ripples from intracranial electroencephalograms were detected in six patients with intractable epilepsy using a convolutional neural network (CNN) method. This approach proved more accurate than using four other HFO detectors integrated in RIPPLELAB, providing a higher sensitivity (77.04% for ripples and 83.23% for fast ripples) and specificity (72.27% for ripples and 79.36% for fast ripples) for HFO detection. Furthermore, for one patient, the Cohen's kappa coefficients comparing automated detection and visual analysis results were 0.541 for ripples and 0.777 for fast ripples. Hence, our automated detector was capable of reliable estimates of ripples and fast ripples with higher sensitivity and specificity than four other HFO detectors. Our detector may be used to assist clinicians in locating epileptogenic zone in the future

    BackgroundPrior studies have explored the association between perceived parental rejection-warmth and adolescents’ rumination, but it is unclear whether the interaction between perceived parental rejection and warmth can predict adolescents’ rumination in a Chinese context and whether this interaction varies by children’s gender during the post-COVID-19 era.ObjectiveThis study aimed to address these issues in Chinese early adolescents from a family system perspective.MethodsA total of 910 adolescents (Mage = 13.63, 48.50% female) from two middle schools in Chongqing and Changsha, China participated in the survey, answering measures for demographics, perceived parental rejection-warmth, and rumination.ResultsThe results show that adolescents’ rumination was positively related to perceived paternal rejection (r = 0.326, p ConclusionsPerceived Parental rejection and parental warmth co-exist in the Chinese family system, and they exert an interactive effect on adolescents’ rumination depending on their gender. It implies that both parents should be more accepting, caring, considerate, and warm toward their daughters, and it is also in line with the tradition and status quo of parenting in Chinese families. These findings have implications for Chinese parental co-parenting practices in families with adolescents and adolescence mental health counseling work.</p

    Synthesis and Bioactivity of N-Benzoyl-N'-[5-(2'-substituted phenyl)-2-furoyl] Semicarbazide Derivatives

    In order to find novel chitin synthesis inhibitors (CSIs) with good activity, benzoylphenylurea, a typical kind of CSIs, was chosen as the lead compound and 15 novel derivatives containing furan moieties were designed by converting the urea linkage of benzoylphenylureas into a semicarbazide and changing the aniline part into furoyl groups. The title compounds were synthesized by the reaction of substituted benzoyl isocyanates with 5-(substituted phenyl)-2-furoyl hydrazine, and the structures were confirmed by IR, 1H-NMR, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses (compound E2). The bioassay results indicated that the title compounds exhibit good insecticidal activity, especially towards Plutella xylostella L., but had lower fungicidal activity. Inspiringly, the title compounds possessed obvious anticancer activity against human promyelocytic leukemic cell line (HL-60), and some of the title compounds also had activity against human hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (Bel-7402), human gastric carcinoma cell line (BGC-823), and human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line (KB). The results indicated that the linkage in the lead compounds was important to the bioactivity and spectra. The modification on the urea linkage is an effective strategy to discover new pesticide and drug candidates
