CTZS Thin Films Grown by a Sequential Deposition of Precursors

A comparative study of the structural, optical and morphological properties of Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin films prepared by two different techniques was performed. One consists of sequential evaporation of the elemental metallic precursors under a flux of sulphur supplied by evaporation from an effusion cell (physical vapor deposition-PVD) and the second one is a solution-based chemical route where thin layers of CuS, SnS and ZnS are deposited sequentially by diffusion membrane- assisted chemical bath deposition techniques; the membranes are used to optimize the kinetic growth through a moderate control of the release of the metal into CBD solution by osmosis. The present comparative study is helpful to the synthesis of kesterite nanostructured thin films.Comment: Published 201

In the past few years, with the internet, platforms 2.0 came up. Nowadays, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook are the most known. These tools made WOM become into e-WOM: Electronic Word of Mouth. The chat between consumers takes place now in the social networks. The vast amount of comments, ratings and experiences, called e-WOM as well, represent an appealing flow of information to the companies that compound the touristic market. In the tourism industry, these network interactions are an important source of information which, in this case, is located on Airbnb, Tripadvisor and Expedia, among other rating plataforms. Airbnb, in particularly, has a suspicious bias in the comments and ratings. These are excessively favourable and we are going to figure out why. Our research is about to find out why this extremely positive bias exists against, almost, a non-existent rate of negative punctuations. Likewise, we are going to analyze the possible causes, those we have named: bias explanatory factors

Do software models based on the UML aid in source-code comprehensibility? Aggregating evidence from 12 controlled experiments

In this paper, we present the results of long-term research conducted in order to study the contribution made by software models based on the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to the comprehensibility of Java source-code deprived of comments. We have conducted 12 controlled experiments in different experimental contexts and on different sites with participants with different levels of expertise (i.e., Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students and software practitioners from Italy and Spain). A total of 333 observations were obtained from these experiments. The UML models in our experiments were those produced in the analysis and design phases. The models produced in the analysis phase were created with the objective of abstracting the environment in which the software will work (i.e., the problem domain), while those produced in the design phase were created with the goal of abstracting implementation aspects of the software (i.e., the solution/application domain). Source-code comprehensibility was assessed with regard to correctness of understanding, time taken to accomplish the comprehension tasks, and efficiency as regards accomplishing those tasks. In order to study the global effect of UML models on source-code comprehensibility, we aggregated results from the individual experiments using a meta-analysis. We made every effort to account for the heterogeneity of our experiments when aggregating the results obtained from them. The overall results suggest that the use of UML models affects the comprehensibility of source-code, when it is deprived of comments. Indeed, models produced in the analysis phase might reduce source-code comprehensibility, while increasing the time taken to complete comprehension tasks. That is, browsing source code and this kind of models together negatively impacts on the time taken to complete comprehension tasks without having a positive effect on the comprehensibility of source code. One plausible justification for this is that the UML models produced in the analysis phase focus on the problem domain. That is, models produced in the analysis phase say nothing about source code and there should be no expectation that they would, in any way, be beneficial to comprehensibility. On the other hand, UML models produced in the design phase improve source-code comprehensibility. One possible justification for this result is that models produced in the design phase are more focused on implementation details. Therefore, although the participants had more material to read and browse, this additional effort was paid back in the form of an improved comprehension of source code

The present work is a compilation of documents, each one with its own peculiarity and in some cases its own complexity, where each of the skills acquired during the course has been put to the task of testing, applying to the contents addressed in each week of classes, during the period of time that the specialization in translation fundaments was developed. Furthermore, these brief definitions and the theoretical review in this exemplary, are the evidence of the variety of topics that were received during the course, which served significantly for the development of each of the documents, which in this specimen we will contemplate; both the original versions and the translations made by each student who was in this course were resolved without much difficulty, thanks to the application of the different techniques received in class, and the advice of the teacher of the course as an integral part of the learning process. In addition, all the resources and techniques used were a strategic part of an orderly and punctual work; the inclusion of steps in the translation process, and the application of technological tools during the translation process of each document presented, show the level of learning and skill acquired both in the use of technological tools and in the application of some translation techniques acquired during the study process. Some documents present in this report are official documents and others of real-world importance, which have a very high demand in the real translation field. Mesenchymal stem cell therapy facilitates donor lung preservation by reducing oxidative damage during ischemia

Lung transplantation is a lifesaving therapy for people living with severe, life-threatening lung disease. The high mortality rate among patients awaiting transplantation is mainly due to the low percentage of lungs that are deemed acceptable for implantation. Thus, the current shortage of lung donors may be significantly reduced by implementing different therapeutic strategies which facilitate both organ preservation and recovery. Here, we studied whether the anti-inflammatory effect of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (HUCPVCs) increases lung availability by improving organ preservation. We developed a lung preservation rat model that mimics the different stages by which donor organs must undergo before implantation. The therapeutic schema was as follows: cardiac arrest, warm ischemia (2h at room temperature), cold ischemia (1.5h at 4°C, with Perfadex), and normothermic lung perfusion with ventilation (Steen solution, 1h). After 1h of warm ischemia, HUCPVCs (1x106 cells) or vehicle were infused via the pulmonary artery. Physiologic data (pressure-volume curves) were acquired right after the cardiac arrest and at the end of the perfusion. Interestingly, although lung edema did not change among groups, lung compliance dropped a 34% in the HUCPVCs-treated group, while the vehicle group showed a stronger reduction (69%, p<0.0001). Histologic assessment demonstrated less overall inflammation in HUCPVCs-treated lungs. In addition, MPO activity, a neutrophil marker, was reduced by 41% compared with vehicle (p<0.01). MSCs therapy significantly decreased tissue oxidative damage by controlling reactive oxygen species production. Accordingly, catalase and superoxide dismutase enzyme activities remained at baseline levels. In conclusion, these results demonstrate that the anti-inflammatory effect of MSCs protects donor lungs against ischemic injury and postulate MSCs therapy as a novel tool for organ preservation.Fil: Pacienza, Natalia.
